Do you have any favorite book characters? I do.

I LOVE Karen from BabySitters's Little Sister book. I love that girl!:D I connect with her so much. I got mad because in one book, she threw up in the bus and the "big kids" made fun of her every day for throwing up and they called her "pukehead" and "big baby.".:( I was like, "Leave her alone!" Can you imagine feeling that way with a character? I also felt her dilemma when she let her injured friend borrow her expensive new doll that came from LONDON(VERY EXPENSIVE) and the friend didn't want to give it back, because she thought it was given to her. So Karen liked to her mom and told her that the doll was at her dad's house.(Karen's parents are divorced). The mom believed her, and Karen later wondered, "What would happen if mommy found out that not only did I lie to her about the doll, but Nancy won't give it back?"(Her exact words). I was like, :( I sympathized with her.

There was one book that karen got on my nerves a little. Her baby sister(Her dad and her stepmom's adopted daughter) kept crying because she had an ear infection. Karen thought, "All Emily did was cry and rub her ear. She was very annoying. Everybody keeps paying attention to her, and almost nobody paid attention to me." I was like, "Shut up! She's in pain!"  I was upset that she was annoyed by her sister who was suffering.

No, that was the book called "The Chocolate Touch.":D  If you read TCT, you will see that it is just a modern day situation of King Midas. Some kid wished everything he touched would turn into chocolate, and he kisses his mom, and she turns into chocolate. Much like King Midas, who wished everything he touched would turn into gold, and he ended up turning his daughter into gold.

I like Mr. Tumnus, and Lucy Pevensie from the Chronicles of Narnia.
(Not only great characters, themselves, but the great friendship they have for each other.)

I also like Mark Twain, as himself, in Roughing it.
(He is absolutely hilarious)

Holden Caufield form the catcher in the rye. He was just so entertaining. They should make a movie out of that book but that's another story.

He was very interesting and entertaining. If a movie was ever made of Catcher in the Rye, they'd probably really screw it up.

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned Becky Sharp in Vanity Fair or Scarlett O'Hara in Gone With the Wind. Two of the best heroines in English lit that really weren't all that nice ;)

But my personal favorite is Catherine Morland in Northanger Abbey. I once wrote a 15-page paper on how great of a character she was. Stupid, not very pretty, overly-sentimental, and so loveable!

And then of course there's Elizabeth Bennet in Pride & Prejudice and her reincarnation, Bridget Jones.

If they did make a movie they should've made it in the mid 80's sean penn would've been perfect for the role.

yeah, i didn't really mind Scarlett, I personally liked her much better than Mellie. I know I must seem really mean, but those oh so innocent characters just aren't real enough for me! like tiny tim in Dicken's classic...
i don't dislike them, but i just don't find them believable.
