View Full Version : WORST SHOW EVER NOMINATIONS
loren 03-31-2006, 08:37 PM my wife heard of a show, and just had to find it, she did, oh my goodness
i nominate it for the worst show ever
LETS BOWL
it was originaly a local minneapolis tv creation, then went to commedy central
the general idea is two people have some sort of disagreement between them
they square off in a bowling alley
on the hardwoods
winner gets a great pize, like a weekend trip to--DULUTH---
or a 1/4 beef for a polka pin strike
did i mention that they had the bowling skills of a 9 year old
then the winner squares off against a league bowler, and if they win that match, perhaps a used snowmobile
one cool thing is they can blow an air horn to distract the other person, while they are bowling
in the pilot, one dude scared the other so bad, he fell down and the ball went into the gutter
there are two announcers, with a combined iq of 1 or less
and even a small audience to watch
and a small segment on how to properly dispose of unwanted bowling balls
of all the things to find, she gets this, and of course its complete
i suppose lamont will be on the phone in a few minutes, can i get that....

Lamont 03-31-2006, 09:02 PM B/c as most of you know, and Loren can attest to, I actually LIKE the stupid flop, lame-o shows that everyone hates
BUTTTTTT
my pick for the worst show I ever saw would have to be
KNIGHT RIDER-- why?
for many reasons, im not gonna pick a show that is horribly bad and lasted 2 weeks
i picked KNIGHT RIDER b/c it was so obviously dreadful and yet it lasted 4 years and had good ratings!
the stories were written on a 7th grade mentality, the plots were highly illogical, the mysteries were so plain that you would have to be ******** not to figure them out
David Hasselhoff---- need I say more?
PLUS--- a big pet peeve of mine is when tv shows have computers do things that make no sense, or that a computer could never do AND KNIGHT RIDER did this all the time!
The show was pure fluff, like a cartoon with live actors and the plots were so simple minded
I watched an episode today as i was flipping around, I watched it all to see if it was any better now than it was then, and NO it was just as bad.
What makes it even worse to me is that they poured so much $$$$ into that show, and so many people watched it and never questioned, "Why am i watching this crapola?"
PS my runner up award would be LOVE CONNECTION, the awful 1980s game show. the whole thing was that they set people up on dates and they tried to make the questions as racy and crude as possible, the entire thing was a 30 minute giggle fest with Chuck Woolery and every question was basically meant to be a humorous way of finding out if they had sex! dreadful, dreadful, dreadful
   :grady:
Lamont 03-31-2006, 09:04 PM LOREN, please, please, please Ill trade you my 700 disc set of every episode ever made of NIGHTLINE for that set
Im begging you, man, have a heart, be a friend, help a brother out
:grady:

In the 50's Friday night was boxing night on NBC. The sponsor was Gillete blue blades.." To be sharp and be on the ball use Gillete Blue blades for the sharpest edge of them all" Anyway if there was a mid round knockout they filled the remaining time with greatest fights of the century. Showed some real good footage, Dempsey-Firpo, Dempsey-Tunny, Louis-Schmeling, Johnson-Ketchel etc. If there was a first or second round knockout they also showed make that spare, the most stupid, idiotic show I ever saw. They put up a split and two folks who appeared to have direct lineage to prehistoric apes tried to convert them. They never converted anything and almost everyone I know turned of the telly and went to sleep.
Yes, folks there was a period of time called the 50's. Do-Wop-sock hops, rockabilly, it was all there. Show you my love for the 50's. A chap named John Whitburn took a year and figured out how many songs made the top 100 at least once, Then how many times the top 50, top 40, top 20 and gross sales. Based on this he made his top whatever. In a given year maybe 500 songs at one time made the top 100. I have on dvd the year and the sequence of hits from 1-500 in order for the entire 50's. I actually have them also for the 60's and 70's. From 1891 thru 1950 I have maybe the top 75.When I'm burning I listen to the music. They are in mp3 and that's a lot of music. Anyone want to know what number was what for a given year? Just the Whitburn charts give me thousands of songs. Then I have the country Whitburns from 1944-1975.

gilligan fanatic 03-31-2006, 10:13 PM I liked Let's Bowl, Comedy Central used to show it after Beat the Geeks a few years ago. I taped about 6 episodes of it.

T-Greg 04-03-2006, 05:25 PM "You're in the Picture", which was called Gleason's Big Bomb. It lasted 2 shows. The 2nd show was called "the apology show". Jackie Gleason basically apologized the entire show for how bad the first show was. But, the apology show is a classic! See the link:
http://www.tvparty.com/picture.html
Lamont 04-03-2006, 10:49 PM I totally forgot about JOANIE LOVES CHACHI!
what an awful show
first, --- 2 words
Scott Baio? why, why, why
did anyone think Chachi was cool
and Joanie too!? did any guys think she was hot?
the show was pure junk, and the musical numbers made the show look good by comparison
awful
PLUS THE OBVIOUS NONESENSE was that the show is set in the 1950s, BUT of course all of the music they did was pure 1980s bubble gum pop? no sense at all
I watched an episode like 2 months back, and my eyes are still burning
:grady:

YOURE IN THE PICTURE was indeed a bomb, BUT Gleason bombed with style and class!

I agree that show sucked however Scott Baio is a dating GOD. He must have some kind of magnatism check out the list of his conquests.
Dated Pamela Anderson, Erika Eleniak, Nicole Eggert, Natalie Raitano, Nicollette Sheridan, Brooke Shields and Heather Locklear.
Lex Luthor 04-03-2006, 11:08 PM I would vote the Partidge Family and Eight is Enough as 2 of the worst shows ever. With Dr.Phil and Jerry Springer making my top 10 list of garbage
KonfusionFTC 04-03-2006, 11:30 PM lol im gonna get shot by a sniper for these..
MASH
Brady Bunch
Partridge Family
loren 04-03-2006, 11:47 PM lol im gonna get shot by a sniper for these..

i like david cassidys music, but i thought the show was lame at best

I dont watch shows to googoo eye the girls
but yes i though erin moran was a very handsome girl
im am totaly surprised that she didnt go on to more and better things
i also thought that barb bertinelli --one day at a time--was also a handsome girl
as well as erin walton
we all have different tastes
Dragonbear 04-04-2006, 05:12 PM And now I'm going to take a dive in front of that bullet that was aimed
at Konfusion because I'm going to nominate
Seinfeld.
It was horrid. Unfunny and drove me nuts with the insistantance by others
that I just had to watch it. And if I didn't think it was funny then I just
"didn't get it".
There wasn't anything to get. Jerry Seinfeld is annoying, self centered
and egotistical. it was an egotistical comedy of annoying people that if
you met them in day to day life. You'd smack them just on general principles.
How many shows that actually had good quality acting went up again this
"brilliant" comedy and ended up on the scrap heaps because it couldn't contest with the watercolor, I'm so cool cause I watched seinfeld the
day before but didn't understand it but have to laugh becuase if I don't
laugh about it then people will think I'm an idiot and if I open my mouth
prove that they are right mentality.
2nd vote has to go for American Dad. Seth Mcfarland is Funny with
Family Guy, but is proving that anyone can fumble the ball. "AD" just
is one stupid joke (and not the funny stupid the Holy crap that is just
special Ed kinda stupid joke) after another stupid joke. Characters are
boring and bland and so is the writing.
y2k3Joker 04-04-2006, 06:27 PM Worst Show Ever = American Idol, Canadian Idol ... Anything Idol !
I don't understand the appeal and why so many people watch
Mister Ed 04-04-2006, 06:31 PM Beauty and the Geek is the worst show I've ever seen.
T-Greg 04-04-2006, 10:18 PM Worst Show Ever = American Idol, Canadian Idol ... Anything Idol !
I don't understand the appeal and why so many people watch
I tend to agree with you. It does not appeal to me. The most memorable moment was William Hung's version of "She Bang". That was funny.
snl 70s show fan 04-05-2006, 01:55 AM my vote is for kristen a so called sitcom that aired on nbc in 2000 why a talanted woman like kristen chennowith would subject herself to this garbage is a mystery to me? second worst is the simple life no tot the paris /nicole show im talking about a really really bad green acres clone starring judith light that aired on cbs in the summer of 98 that show could be used by aspring writers everywhere as a lesson in how not to write a sitcom
megamanj2004 04-05-2006, 03:06 PM Oh, boy!!!
Now this is a very tough one, so I have so many candidates to name!!!
WORST '60s SITCOMS - a. Flying Nun, b. McHale's Navy c. Green Acres d. Pettocat Junction
WORST '70s SITCOMS - a. Eight is Enough b. Brady Bunch (sorry, but I had to put that one in, b/c I got tired of it after a while) c. The Ropers d. Partridge Family
WORST '80s SITCOMS - a. Joanie Loves Chachi (suprisingly, this show is number 1 in Korea!!!), b. Charles in Charge (goodness, is Scott Baio really that bad???) c. Small Wonder (YES, I REMEMBER THIS ****-FEST!!! AND JUST BY EVEN WATCHING THE OPENING CREDITS, SHOWS JUST HOW HORRIBLE THIS SHOW AND THE PREMISE REALLY WAS!!!) d. (TIE) My Sister Sam/My Two Dads
WORST '90 SITCOMS - a. Full House (Just plain horrible period! End of story.), b. Billy (Does anybody remember this Head of the Class spin-off? It was beyond horrible and as if his ruining of HotC wasn't bad enough, stupid ABC had to give this nut-cakes his own sitcom!!!), c. Murphy brown (watching it nowadays made me realize that this is a horrible Mary Tyler Moore rip-off!!!), d. Unhappily Ever After (Horrible WB Married w/ Children rip-off!!! Geoff Pierce probably has togo down as worst TV dad in history!!! The only good thing to come out of this show was the Gary Coleman ep. and that this show gave us the first glimpse of a very young Justing Berfield, Reese on Malcolm in the Middle)
WORST EARLY 2000s SITCOMS - a. Whoopi (This show proved that Whoopi Goldberg's not only a washed-up has-been, but right away you knew that her time is up!!! The mediocre acting doesn't help, either), b. The Mullets (Only good thing about that show was that the father was a Game Show Host, otherwise, I'd shaved all the people on that show's heads off and let them dry out in the damn clothesline!), c. Bob Patterson or whatever that show was on ABC that starred Jason Alexander (I can plainly see why that show lasted only 3 to 6 eps.! Just watching the promos gave you signals as to why it was so horrible!) d. Father of the Pride (YEEEEECH!!!)
WORST MID 2000s-PRESENT SITCOMS - a. Joey (I never could stomach watching Friends that much and it's even worse that NBC gave that nut-cake his own Spin-Off show!!!) b. American Dad (I agree w/ the above poster right there about this show! By itself, it isn't too bad of a show, but airing after Family Guy makes this show just plain pointless and a one-joke unfunny stupid show!!!), c. The War at Home, d. Just about almost every sitcom that's airing on UPN and WB.
scottdvd 04-05-2006, 04:56 PM Although this is a newer show, The Andy Milonakis Show is the worst show I have ever watched. I only watched 2 episodes at first and thought maybe I would watch a few more and they would be better, NO! This show is NOT funny! I can't believe they would even make more than a few episodes. Terrible!
Nighthawk76 04-05-2006, 05:16 PM I think the worst show that I have ever seen was 7th Heaven. I apolagize to the show's many fans but I just think it is way too sappy. I also think the comedy Yes Dear is really bad.
Mister Ed 04-05-2006, 06:56 PM Which shows do you like megamanj2004? :p Most of the shows you listed lasted for 5-10 seasons.
My picks:
Andy Richter Controls The Universe
Full House
Nothing else, even at its rottenest, stinkiest level could possibly be as bad as these two shows.
Chocoholic 04-06-2006, 04:53 PM Full House
Any of that asinine, vulgar garbage that is considered "comedy" on Comedy Central. (I'll admit I used to love South Park.) Remember TV Fun House? Stupid!
Suddenly Susan, Veronica's Closet, and their ilk
Heck, I think most sitcoms that have come out in recent have been raunchy, insipid garbage.
megamanj2004 04-07-2006, 07:45 PM Which shows do you like megamanj2004? :p Most of the shows you listed lasted for 5-10 seasons.
Just b/c a show lasted for 5 or more seasons, doesn't always mean that it's great.
Take a look at UPN's Moesha. It never got off the ground til' like it's final two seasons or so. That show took forever to get off the ground.
Also, NBC's 80s medical drama St. Elsewhere. Not many people enjoyed it, until the last ep., I think.
It's just that a lot of today's show are just loaded w/ insipid, sex trash, AND RECYCLED plots from other shows that they're lame to watch.
SBTB Geek 04-08-2006, 01:12 AM The War at Home is easily one of the worst shows I've seen in a long time.
Keep in mind that I'm not a regular viewer of UPN or The WB, so I can't judge any of their shows.

Yeah....I couldn't understand how a show with such annoying characters could be funny and a hit. Those people were the most obnoxious characters I have ever seen.
dawsongirl 04-08-2006, 03:34 AM It's just that a lot of today's show are just loaded w/ insipid, sex trash, AND RECYCLED plots from other shows that they're lame to watch.
That's very true. It's like writers today either can't think of anything funny that doesn't have sex or something gross in the punchline, or they think we're all morons.
megamanj2004 04-10-2006, 07:58 PM The War at Home is easily one of the worst shows I've seen in a long time.
I agree w/ you, SBTB Geek! I hope FOX is not renewing this crap-fest!
At least the father "out-crasses" Archie Bunker, in terms of crass though.
I'm glad they yanked American Dad off the sked, b/c i mean why put that show after Family Guy, even MacFarlane also created that show as well. But as long as FG is running, it makes American Dad a one-joke show that was just simply pointless, even though American Dad can run OK if it wasn't aired after Family Guy.
db108108 04-10-2006, 09:37 PM Let's not forget "The Rerun Show," one of the worst pieces of crap I've seen on tv this decade. A promising idea gone totally, totally, horribly wrong.
snl 70s show fan 04-11-2006, 12:56 AM Let's not forget "The Rerun Show," one of the worst pieces of crap I've seen on tv this decade. A promising idea gone totally, totally, horribly wrong.you can say that again that show was awful

Personally, when I first saw this show, I thought at first that they were showing clips from older shows, but once I really saw how horribly done it really was in the end, YEEEEECH!!!

I was really hopefuly for this show- it could have been truly inspired. But for the love of god, why did they have to do that??? It's easily the worst thing that I have ever seen on television and I've watched 7 seasons of Passions.
EmoJoe 04-11-2006, 09:48 PM Worst Show Ever = American Idol, Canadian Idol ... Anything Idol !
I don't understand the appeal and why so many people watch
cause it rocks :D i dont know, a lot of people say that, but you just sort of have to watch it and enjoy it to understand the appeal.
CI sucks though.
this thread is kinda pointless though. there's not really a worst show ever. it's based on opinion.
bencasey 04-12-2006, 12:17 AM The Munsters Today. Impossible to sit through an entire episode.
Dated Pamela Anderson, Erika Eleniak, Nicole Eggert, Natalie Raitano, Nicollette Sheridan, Brooke Shields and Heather Locklear.
Uh, I think he did more than "date" them. Who's Natalie whatever?
