How often have you heard a song and thought it was sung by a certain artist or group,and found out that it was really sung by a different artist?
To give you an example,I once thought that the song Fox On The Run was a Beatles song.Then I realised that it was really sung by The Sweet in 1975.

Third Time Lucky(First Time I Was A Fool)/Foghat(TIW Foriegner)

I always thought Roger Waters or Dave Gilmour sung "Have a Cigar" but they were imitating another persons voice...but it wasn't them it was a tottaly other guy named Roy Parker......

Serious, in high school when Diana Ross' song "I'm Coming Out" first started playing, alot of us thought is was Michael Jackson singing it!!!!!! Serious. Even now, if I listen to that first verse, the high pitch, it sounds just like Michael Jackson did. This was when Michael had just come out with Off The Wall.

"Rescue Me" Fontella Bass (originally thought it was Aretha Franklin)
"I Wanna Thank You" Alicia Meyers (thought Anita Baker sang it)

"Don't Do Me LIke That"-Tom Petty... sounded like J.Geils Band.

"Want Ads" by the Honey Cone (1971) - I thought the Jackson 5 sang it

"Third Rate Romance" by the Amazing Rhythm Aces (1975) - I thought the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band sang it

Roy Harper. He's an English folk-rocker. Led Zeppelin paid tribute to him in the 1970 song "Hats Off to (Roy) Harper" off Led Zeppelin III.

a lot of People think that "Mr Roboto' is sung by queen. but its by a band called Styx. it does sound like something Queen would sing tho and the guy really sounds like Freddie mercury.

When I first heard the song "Special" by garbage, I thought it was The Pretenders. I always get Shirley Manson and Chrissie Hynde's voices mixed up. I also thought "Somebody's Watching Me" by Rockwell, was sung by Michael Jackson. I didn't realize at the time that it was just Michael doing back up vocals. I also always thought "Horse With No Name" by America, was sung by Neil Young. To this day, I'm still shocked that the voice in that song isn't him.
