For those of you who remember, about three years ago I had a brief fling with a girl from my past, someone from my New Jersey years, a girl who would periodically come into my life and hang around long enough to get my hopes up and then vanish like a hip-hop artist at a shootout.

As some of you may recall, it did not end well the last time. Sure, I played it off like things were okay, but actually, it pissed me off that once again, I fell for her charmes and was left holding the bag.

After what had occured, I would have thought that I would never hear from her again.

Until last friday.

I got an e-mail from her (it was sent to my aol address, which I don't use anymore) wishing me a Happy St. Pat's Day.
Okay, it wasn't just for me, she sent it out to a bunch of family and friends, but STILL, she sent me a note. Not cool!

I guess she figures that since it's been three years, it's okay to contact me again, even if it's just a friendly holiday greeting. That's pretty much how she's always been - contact out of the blue after years of silence, maybe I'll call her, maybe we'll get together, etc....

Now, what to do?

Should I reply to the e-mail, or should I just let it go?

I'm leaving it up to you my friends, TJL wants to know!

Ignore it man. You already gave it another shot and it was the same stuff. Don't let her do it again. Ignore the email and block the address.

Ignore her, TJL. I was once in a similar situation. I'm guessing there is a little voice in your head telling you to respond to her email. Don't listen to that little voice. You will be so much happier in the long run. Good luck.

I say ignore it, but somehow I get the feeling that you really want to respond to it. Ultimately, it is up to you, but why bother? First off, it doesn't sound like a personalized email. Secondly, why bother with someone who won't give you the time of day unless it fits into her schedule? Good Luck.

Yep, I agree with everyone else.

Why would she "suddenly" and "mysteriously" come up and try and butter you up? To set you up for another fall? I'm sorry, but it really isn't worth it. Her loss....

 @ the hip hop artist line.

I think it's unanimous...ignore it. She didn't even have the courage to send a personal email.

Believe me, I will. I have a feeling that she will drop me another line soon.
My old telephone line has been long disconnected, so she can't leave a message there, and I seriously doubt she'll call me on my cell, so an E-mail is a great non confrontational way of testing the waters. I guarantee I will hear from her again soon.

Thanks for the advice folks. I won't contact her. It's just not worth my time.
I feel sorry for her. For those of you who don't know the story (or don't remember) the gal is bi-polar, and this whole thing is part of her pattern of behavior.
She's like the Olympics. Every four years I get my hopes up that this time I'll enjoy myself, and the opening is great, but a few weeks later, things are over, and I'm stuck with a ****ing bronze.

Sounds like the smart way to go. This whole thing reminded me of an ex-boyfriend. ohno:
