Georgia's on my Mind 03-16-2006, 04:14 PM I don't at my house, I have it on my cell though. It's not really needed, and if you're watching your spending it cuts a few dollars off the phone bill each month, which can add up... dawsongirl 03-16-2006, 04:15 PM I couldn't live without it. It determines if I pick up the phone or not, which is helpful when you're avoiding someone. gilligan fanatic 03-16-2006, 04:17 PM I know someone, me. I don't see the need for it. I just let my answering machine pick it up and if its someone who really wants to talk to me they would leave a message and I will pick it up. Dutabi84 03-16-2006, 04:18 PM I couldn't live without it. It determines if I pick up the phone or not, which is helpful when you're avoiding someone. So THAT'S why I'm always getting the machine. :D dawsongirl 03-16-2006, 04:24 PM So THAT'S why I'm always getting the machine. :D :snob: You can just leave a message and maybe I'll return it when I get it. friendsfan77 03-16-2006, 04:38 PM I know someone, me. I screen my calls with the answering machine. As others have said, if they really want to talk to me they'll say something. TVFactFan 03-16-2006, 05:03 PM Nope, I don't have it either. But on my cell phone, i've got everything. swedeace 03-16-2006, 05:43 PM I couldn't live without it. It determines if I pick up the phone or not, which is helpful when you're avoiding someone. I am the same way. I remember when I lived with my sister, she would give me so much crap about that. She'd get annoyed just because I didn't want to pick up the phone when certain people would call. Anyway, MOST people who would call were USUALLY for my sister, so I just got tired of saying, "She's not here." Eh. They can always call her back later anyway.... It was to the point where I would have to "pretend" I didn't hear it or get to it in time. I just couldn't do that all the time without looking like I was deaf or something. It had to be believeable.... The only phone I am currently using is my cellphone, and it has caller ID. I am dependent on it. theshark8777 03-16-2006, 06:08 PM I wont pay $8 to add caller id. I have it free on my vonage and cellphone though, but if I had to pay I wouldn't have it. Courtnee 03-16-2006, 06:22 PM Nope. We all have it. Hell, even on my $15 cell phone i have it  Ireneparalegal 03-16-2006, 06:58 PM I know someone, me. I don't see the need for it. Answering machine? u mean the bulky box with a cartridge in it? I can't live without my caller ID/Anonymous Call Reject. I remember back in the dayz picking up the phone and rolling my eyes when it was someone I didn't want to talk to...:cuss: thank God for caller ID. If they really want to talk to me, they can leave a message on my voice mail. gilligan fanatic 03-16-2006, 07:37 PM Answering machine? u mean the bulky box with a cartridge in it? It is not that big at all. In fact there isn't even a mini cassete for it. It has a built in part for it where it remembers the messages without a tape. The anwering machine is just the stand where you charge the phone. TVFactFan 03-16-2006, 07:41 PM I wont pay $8 to add caller id. I have it free on my vonage and cellphone though, but if I had to pay I wouldn't have it. I thought I told you not to reply to my threads anymore?-lol Mr. Stefani 03-16-2006, 07:41 PM Yes. Other than them, everyone I know has it. SBTB Geek 03-18-2006, 12:55 PM Why are you so surprised that people don't have caller ID?... I know several that only have basic telephone service for emergency cases or to get DSL through the company. Most people nowadays use their cells as their primary phones. friendsfan77 03-18-2006, 10:33 PM I wont pay $8 to add caller id. I have it free on my vonage and cellphone though, but if I had to pay I wouldn't have it. I totally agree... it costs at least $7 or $8 to have just the number alone show up here. Though days after we got rid of it, I kept looking at the phone waiting for the number to show up... force of habit, I guess... Gizmo1 03-19-2006, 10:59 AM I have it on my cell cuz it is just a feature on the phone but we dont have it at my house. TheHappyBurgerMeister 03-19-2006, 11:56 PM Just on my cell phone; but not on our phones at our house. We barely get very many phone calls anyway. My parents have never said they wanted it before. It's not like anyone has ever constantly called us and harrassed us. KissMyGrits 03-20-2006, 07:39 PM My father-in-law doesn't have it. I keep trying to talk him into getting it, but nothing I say works. gidgetgrape 03-20-2006, 07:40 PM The only person I can think of is my grandma.
