I have no clue, I haven't timed myself since High School.

When I took typing class in Jr. High, it was 35-40 wpm. Not too bad for a male. ;)

I haven't time myself in ages, but I know it's at least 60 wpm. I type the way we were taught. I use the correct fingers for each key. I don't look at the keyboard.

Thanks for finding that. I never thought of that.

Last time I was tested, it was 39. Which was 1 dmn word slower than I needed for the job. :mad: Oh well. But then the room I was in was noisy, with people walking in and out, and I can't freakin concentrate with distractions like that.

And yes, I look at the keys most of the time.

Some of you who have never tried a laptop keyboard should find one and test with it. I guarantee you'll slow down a little.

I've not been timed, but it's certainly not going to break any records. :lol:

Yeah, I type much faster when the words are just coming from my head and not from a piece of paper or retyping what's on the screen.

In my heyday it was 110 wpm.

I'm around 70 now - for some reason I tned to trnaspoes lettres nwo....

that's true for anyone, but when you work and MUST type from something that is either dictated to you or something off a book, document, etc. that's a different story. I type 85 w.p.m. from reading off of something. Faster if I just type from my thoughts.
