To discover all the "scenes that has been deleted in syndication". After i watch the DVD and get a chance to see all the tag scenes and other missing scenes I never saw before, I see no need to open the DVD back up and put it back in the DVD player and watch it again. Just like with Three's Company Season 6, after I go through that entire season of seeing all the TAG scenes and other missing footage, I'm pretty much done with it because the fun part is over-lol Is anyone like that? Do you watch your DVD's again after watching them the first time?

Hmmm, interesting question. I just got in the mail my DVD of Prisoner Cell Block H. An australian soap opera from back in the dayz. I will for sure watch some of it when I get back home from my appt. but will I watch it over and over again? I highly doubt it. I think I buy DVD's solely to have it in my possession, knowing that it's mine and I could watch it at anytime. I have at least five unopened DVD's as we speak.

For me it depends on the show. I normally wouldn't buy a TV DVD set just to watch missing footage. The main reason I but TV DVD's is so I can watch them anytime I want. Most of the TV DVD's I have are shows that I have not seen in years and aren't currently on TV (or weren't when I bought them). I will watch my favorite episodes on them a couple of times, but I have yet to watch an entire set over again.

I do put in season 1 of the Jeffersons over and over again, not to watch a ep from start to finish but to see classic scenes. But not watching the entire episodes all over again.

I wish I could but most of the scenes were shown in the UK anyway so I don't get that added pleasure, ofcourse buying Roseanne Season 1 and missing parts that air everyday is kind of a nice way of shaking things up.

to keep the sales up in order for the other seasons to be released, to watch a show whenever I want, to provide an (or another) outlet to view the show, to watch it as many times as I want (rewatchability), to save money by purchasing the DVD set of the show than the cable bill, to complete my collection, ect.

I'm very selective over what tv dvds I buy and for that reason, yes I do re-watch my dvds over... at least twice with a couple of months gap in between. After that it's the odd episode here and there. And the main reason I buy tv dvds is for nostalgia... yes I do have certain "newer" tv series, but I don't class them in my collection (Des H'wives, Voyager etc). Not overly bothered about cut scenes.

I buy mostly classic tv shows, although I do have a couple of newer shows. So far I haven't rewatched any of my dvd's, cause I have a few more to watch before I can rewatch any of them. The only shows I have rewatched are Sanford And Son the 1st season and Bewitched season 1, Samantha Meets The Folks it was my favorite episode I love Aunt Clara.

I buy way too many TV shows on DVD, plus I have a lot of stuff in my VHS, Beta, and DVD-R collection, so nowadays, there never seems to be time to watch anything. But I still collect shows because I loved them when they were on. I would hope that the quality of the picture and sound would be superior to anything I recorded myself, so I consider the retail versions an upgrade - but I rarely get rid of my off-air originals. It's only in the past year or so that I've started recording shows regularly with the intent of dumping the tapes when the show is released commercially, and even then, I don't always go through with it, because one of the tapes might have an interesting promo, commercial, or what have you.

I've lost count of the sets that I have yet to open, but when I do get in the groove with a set, I might watch parts of it over again. In the early days of TV on DVD, there were certain sets that I would watch over and over again. I'm not big on watching the extras, although I like to know they are there. I certainly try to collect that kind of stuff when I'm recording a show off the air.

I'd love to have the time rewatch some of my shows. :>

I just rewatch to see certain scenes but never an entire episode.

Shows that i dont like to re-watch all the way through, help me go to sleep, like Jeff Foxyworthy's show, or Home Improvement, when i'm up at night and can't sleep, those shows help me get some sleep because of homw un-funny they are..

No that's a waste of money, if I wanted to only watch the deleted scenes then I'll get them from Netflix.

u2!!

For me, I believed I have over 20 unopened DVDs! (Even some unopened CDs! LOL)

I even have one that I brought over two years ago.

I need to finshed the open ones before I buy more.

I know I won't stop buying them!

It depends on the mood I want to watch at the moment.

Right now, I am in the mood to watch EASTENDERS!

I do, sometimes, if it's a DVD set that I'd rather own and watch over and over and has great extras. Like, seasons 1-5 of THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW, seasons 1-3 of MASH (can never understand WHY someone would want to own all 11 seasons of that show), and the GREAT DVDs of THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES from MPI. and right now, I have my eye on the GET SMART DVDs, since everything I've heard says they'll be SPECTACULER!!!!

I don't buy DVDs just to watch extra footage, in fact, I'm not even thinking about that when I'm looking to buy. My main reason is not only that I really like the show, but that I don't mind watching it repeatedly.

No...I also buy them for the clearer picture, and absence of all that garbage they put on the screen (network logo, ads for upcoming shows, etc), to name a couple.

I have at least a couple. I have to be in the right mood. Plus I have a huge stack of homemade DVDs I have to watch to make sure they will play, so those take presedence over the store bought ones.

Last Time I checked if you have cable, that's a clear picture too-lol

For some series, they look 10x better on DVD. The Jeffersons is one of those.

Anyways, for me, the prime purpose of owning a show on DVD is to be able to pick out an episode and watch it whenever I please.

I don't see any difference from the Clear picture on cable and DVD. Just how much clearer can the picture get?-lol

There's a difference. It's noticeable on alot of dvds I watch, especially animation. There'll be video remastering done for dvd releases that isn't seen on episodes broadcast on tv.

The only reason I buy them is because where I live we don't get any good shows. :p

I'd like to say that I only watch deleted scenes from TV Shows on DVD, when I know that there were scenes/lines that were deleted in later broadcasts, but I'd be lying if I did. The Simpsons has a lot of "deleted scenes" on some of their later DVD's, and over on the Disney Channel, they've frequentley edited out some dialogue from episodes of "Naturally, Sadie" and "Life with Derek," which if either of these shows were to end up on DVD, should revive them.

I don't really care about seeing scenes that weren't on it before. I ussually get dvd's of shows I recently started watching so that I can catch up on what happened before I started watching and so that I can see it in order. I find that I like to watch the episodes over and over agian.

But what's wrong with having a ep that FULL LENGH?

Rachel3118

nothing is wrong with full length, it's just that being full length isn't the main reason why I watch it. When I first get shows on dvd I ussually haven't seen them before so I don't notice what is being added. Even when I have seen them before I don't really notice the difference.

The majority of my TV on DVD purchases are blind buys. I do not get to watch much TV at all during the hockey season so the only way I can see certain shows is on DVD. To me, you get a lot more value out of you're purchase if it is all new material to you. Just a few of my favourite blind buys have been: Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel, Gilmore Girls, Firefly, Point Pleasant, Veronica Mars, Roswell, The X-Files, Desperate Housewives, Lost, Charmed & Wonderfalls. I plan to blind buy many other series as well.

To discover all the "scenes that has been deleted in syndication".

Uncut episodes are one of the main points in me getting series on DVD to start with. If a show is cut on DVD, it better a) be rare and b) not cost as much as an unedited DVD release. If I wanted syndicated cuts of shows, I'll just tape them for free.
