She played the headmistress of the school. I didn't like her in DW. but yeah, back to the question, she did look kinda old. Back when I seen this during it's first run, I didn't think that. I just seen her in an episode of Sanford and Son playing Fred's sister who married a white guy. LOL jamesanthony 03-02-2006, 06:02 PM Funny, I didn't like her on A Different World either. She appeared to be too sanctimonious. I get the feeling that the actress Mary Alice is like that in real life from other things I have seen her do. As for her age, it makes sense that she was giving up the baby because she already had a bunch of other kids. The character probably was supposed to be over 40. Willona staggered out of the bedroom and left the door wide open and as she was walking down the hallway, you can see the door slowly close behind her. The only person left in the room were Loretta and the baby.
