I live in TX, and there are a lot of people here who put hot sauce on their BBQ. There are people who put hot sauce on their eggs. So hot sauce on Ribs doesn't sound strange to me.

There is this barbecue restaurant in my area called "Famous Dave's" has very good sauce. When I go there, they have special sauces on the table I put on the ribs that are already sauced. So it's not as weird as you think. I see what you're saying, leave the hot sauce for chicken wings, not ribs.

Are they like Smitty's Birdland? (I went to school in Rochester) This place had a very hot and sweet sauce they put on chicken that was out of this world.

The best place for ribs and barbecue items here in my city was a place called MISS KITTYS. The lady who owned the place was a black grandmother and her food was deeeeeeeeeeelicious. YUM!!!! Sadly, she died and the business closed down. We have this other place called C.J.'s Barbecue. Tri-trip sandwiches are my faves. They have enough sauce on them, don't need no hot sauce. :lol:

You always put things in perspective. It really just comes down to personal taste. I like my ribs with a good amt of sauce & sometimes like to mix 2 different sauces. Also it depends on the quality of the cooking. With some chicken or ribs I might put on very little sauce. We all have different tastes. Nobody's wrong.

You said it. There have been times where I tasted some ribs that were not very tasty and they NEEDED SAUCE on them. :lol: Other times, ribs that are juicy and have just the right amount of barbecue sauce on them, that makes them great.

Everyone is different and really, I don't need the hot sauce if the ribs taste just perfect.
