overweight? "I see you are losing weight"

I just don't think that's a compliment. I never have said to anyone -"WOW you are slimming down" I will see that they have but unless it's a close friend or relative I just don't think it should be said at all. I recently stopped eating fried foods and lost 15 points in 10 weeks and a co-worker says-"I see you are starting to slim down" So I said to myself-"Damm she must have thought I was BIG as a House 10 weeks ago"-lol Anyone Agree?

The only time I like it is when people know I'm on a diet. If I don't make it public and they say something like that it would bother me.

If they had said "You look great, have you been working out?" or "You look terrific. Have you lost weight?" it would be more flattering.

Congrats on the weight loss, Mandie! That's fantastic :)

Anyway, to answer your question-- I really think it depends on how it was said. Saying, "Wow, you lost a lot of weight!" sounds more like a compliment than "I see you are losing weight." It's basically the same sentence but it sounds completely different depending on how it's said.

Every Christmas my great aunt always tells me I'm loosing weight, even though most of the time I'm not. Just last week my grandma told me in one hour that I'm loosing weight and I look great, then the next hour asked if I would go to weight watchers. Yeah, that was nice lol:wave:

Nope. I just want to slim down without any comments about it. By them saying something about it lets you know that they always thought of you as a fat slob-lol By someone not saying anything means they never judged on on your size and could care less that you lose weight.

I'd much rather someone tell me that I'm losing weight than have them tell me I'm getting fat. It seems like whenever I see my dad he always mentions how much weight I've gained. My mom would say the same thing just not as much. Those are the times when I think people should keep their opinions to themselves. If I'm trying to lose weight and someone notices than I take that as a compliment.

really in a sense it's kind of mean.

You wouldn't want someone comming up to you and asking

"Hey are you less stupid?"

I WAS JUST KIDDING!

I have no idea...no one ever tells me that. I'd probably assume the same thing I assume when people tell me how pretty I am...that they went temporarily blind. lol
