I didn't even know this show could be classified as a sitcom, since there was no studio audience or even a laugh track. I guess that means Doogie Howser can be classified as a "sitcom" as well.

TJ 11-01-2000, 12:33 AM I don't think having a laugh track or studio audience is a requirement of being sitcom and I do classify Doogie Howser, M.D. as a sitcom (as do many tv reference books). In my opinion, a laugh track would have ruined The Wonder Years. It did not need it - it had just the right amount of comedy and drama mixed together..
