That averages to about 17 episodes per disc. Even at dual-layer capacity, how on earth did he compress 120 episodes onto seven discs? One season I could see fitting on seven discs - particularly the first two. But the whole friggin' series??
This looks too good to be true and it probably is.
comedyfreak 01-25-2006, 05:51 AM You can also find a similiar set on Ebay, which is where I got mine.

I still don't understand how they can cram that many episodes onto a single disc. How's the quality??
comedyfreak 02-01-2006, 08:57 AM Not bad really, it's not perfect but very watchable.
AaronHandy3 12-15-2006, 04:58 PM It'd be better if they were uncut and complete with all original scenes...
Otherwise, I wouldn't touch it with a 10-foot Batpole.
RowMan 12-22-2007, 03:12 PM There are two much better 29 disc DVD sets floating about.
One claims to be from "Studio Masters" and was actually created from VHS tapes professionally produced in 1988 of uncut episodes exclusively for the makers of the 1989 Batman film. Decent VHS quality with very few glitches, no station logos on the picture, and the episodes even contain the "In Color" cards at the head of the episodes and the rarely seen "Next Week's Villian" promos near the end of the episodes.

The second is a higher quality uncut set digitally recorded from TV Land Canada just a few years ago that includes very professional looking menus with music. Two minor drawbacks to this set are...
1) No "In Color" cards or "Next Weeks Villian" promos.
2) The TV Land logo appears in the bottom right corner of the screen during the episodes. In this case, however, this is all it is. A single logo. Not like TV Land in the US where during the program you get not only the logo, but a promo for the show you're watching, the show coming on next, and a promo for next week's programming.

Until we get an official release of Batman on DVD it looks like these are the two best sets out there.

Faith_27 01-21-2008, 11:27 AM Is this the Classic Batman 80's???
bryanharwell 05-24-2008, 06:46 AM It's too bad that there's not a legit release of this series. :(
McGillicuddy 01-01-2014, 10:54 PM I have a 10 dvd set, uncut, from the studio masters, I got on I-offer.com. Plus another set of 4 dvds that includes Holy Batmania!, The 1966 Batman movie, and the Return To The Batcave special.
Its the best "bootleg" tv series that I own.

That's great that you got the Batman series set, but those last three titles are legitimate DVD releases. Let's at least support any official Batman TV product that's out there by buying the real DVDs and not copies of them.

But the problem is that there hasn't been any official release of the Batman TV show, so fans are forced to buy bootlegs. By the time they release one (if that ever happens), it may be too late, as physical media (DVDs, Blu-ray) is said to be dying.

Well, they all came as one set. I see your point, though.
comedyfreak 01-02-2014, 01:15 PM I got my set on ioffer.com look for Batman season 1 each season comes in a clam shell case 1 for each season.
bliss 01-15-2014, 01:38 AM Damn I read the thread title and thought this series would FINALLY see the light of day on official DVD.....
McGillicuddy 01-15-2014, 02:22 AM The reason its not on dvd is that FOX owns the rights to the series, but Warner Bros. owns the rights to the characters, or something like that.

What a legal mess  no wonder this show is in high demand for official dvd release.
Read that you own the 10-DVD set of the complete series. Hope the prints are in excellent quality and unedited.

Well, now I'll probably get the official release.

Batman' TV show to receive complete-series set in 2014
Brian Truitt, USA TODAY
January 15, 2014
Holy nostalgia, Caped Crusader! The original 1960s Batman show is finally getting a home-video release, and Conan O'Brien couldn't be happier.
USA TODAY confirmed the news that the late-night talk-show host tweeted to his 9.75 million followers Wednesday: Warner Bros. Entertainment will be releasing the complete series this year in a box set. He also added a picture of himself and the classic Batmobile with the quip, "The seat smells like Adam West."
The original series, which ran 1966-68 on ABC and in later years in syndication, was many people's introduction to the superhero outside of comics, especially before the Tim Burton Batman movie was released in 1989. And compared to the "Dark Knight" era that began in the 1980s with comics icon Frank Miller and others, the TV show was a lighthearted, campy affair starring West as the earnest Batman and his alter ego Bruce Wayne, Burt Ward as Robin and Yvonne Craig as Batgirl.
However, the many colorful villains they faced on a weekly basis were arguably more of a draw, with a stable of mainstays including the Joker (Cesar Romero), the Penguin (Burgess Meredith), the Riddler (Frank Gorshin) and three different women to wear the tight leather of Catwoman (Lee Meriwether, Eartha Kitt and Julie Newmar). Celebrities of the day were regular guest stars, including film director Otto Preminger as Mr. Freeze, Milton Berle as Louie the Lilac, Vincent Price as Egghead, Liberace as Chandell and his twin brother Harry, and Zsa Zsa Gabor as Minerva.
Details will be announced later on specific platforms and pricing.
bliss 01-16-2014, 12:38 AM Well, now I'll probably get the official release.
OMG in this lifetime we will FINALLY see this show released. Time to set aside some money because I'm sure this will be one of the biggest TV-ON-DVD releases of 2014.

Thank God It's a COMPLETE SERIES and not releasing the seasons separately. Batman TV fans have waited far too long.
