Okay guys, put yourself in this scenerio...you are a college student (male) what do you want as presents for hoildays (like xmas, VALENTINES day, bday...) because I find it hard to buy gifts for guys, esp. a significant other, any suggestions?

if he's into sports maybe tickets or equipment
for significant other a romantic night at home or out then home - if its done right he will remember it

Hmmm. You can never go wrong with a gift card or something, we don't typically like a lot of extra stuff that takes up room. Unless it can be eaten, of course.

I think a really great cologne would be a great option. One that you like, AND that you know he'll like.

That way, when things are getting really close, it'll be a gift you're BOTH benefitting from. ;)

Unless you know specifically what he wants and that he would like, that's always the way to go.

I got the boyfriend a varied bunch of things for Christmas. I picked him out a shirt I thought he would like, and some cologne I knew he liked. But then I also bought him his favorite board game (that he didn't own) and his favorite candy (Milk Duds) and some Pop Rocks (part of an inside joke) and this little 20 Questions toy (lol, he acts just like a little kid sometimes so I knew he'd like it). Just try and think of things he's mentioned that he likes and pick those up for him. He'll appreciate that you knew, and you will be certain that he likes it.

On Valentine's Day, I always give my husband a card with a bunch of scratch tickets. He loves them. One year, he won $500. He gave me half. :D

Personally, I hate getting cologne. Not because I don't like to smell good,I do, but because whenever someone gets me some, it always reeks, and I wouldn't be caught dead wearing it. Then when you're not wearing it, you always have to come up with a great excuse as to why you're not. Of course you can't tell them the truth, that the crap smells like an elephants ass, so it just puts you in an ackward situation.

So once again, best thing for me would be money or gift certificate. That way, if I want to buy cologne, (which I probably wouldn't), I could just get a good kind that I like.

That can be true, BUT (and it's a big 'but'), usually if somebody gets you cologne that you hate, it's from a casual acquaintance, or a relative or neighbor or somebody who thinks "Well, this is a good gift for a guy."

If it comes from your girlfriend or wife though, chances are that it'll be some great, quality stuff that you're both going to love.

That is, unless they know there's something you really wanted and it could be sort of a "This money is going towards your *whatever*, because I know how much you really want it."

I feel like that, too. Money's a bit impersonal to me. I like to give gifts that show I actually listen to him when he talks and know a little bit about him.

That's a great idea. You can never go wrong with concert tickets to a band or artist he loves. Concert tickets can also be good for your enemies. If you don't like someone, you can get them tickets to Hilary Duff, or Lindsay Lohan or some terrible artist like that. :lol: Anyway, I hope he likes his gifts.

The reason I like money is because I have a really hard time actually finding something I like to ask for. One day I'll look at something and just have to have it and the next day could care less. :lol:

Plus I'm getting ready to buy a car and college...
