View Full Version : Crazy, weird, scary or loony neighbors?
Ireneparalegal 01-10-2006, 10:06 PM When I was growing up there was this old man who lived down the street from my house and he would stand outside and yell at us kids that we would make too much noise. He would threaten to call the cops and stuff. He was a real pain in the neck. He was kinda scary too
My sister has a neighbor who washes all the cars her family has (two dodge trucks and two compact cars) everyday!! Not one day goes by that she doesn't wash those damn cars! Only when it rains she doesn't, but still those poor cars are getting water on them!! Not a day goes by those cars aren't exposed to water!!!! She is weird definitely.
KristenJ 01-10-2006, 10:32 PM Yea we've had some crazy neighbors. In the last house we lived in we had this fourtysomething couple that were pretty crazy. We lived in a five-plex and their bedroom was on the other side of my bedroom wall...and I won't go into details, I'll let you figure that out, but I'd knock on the wall just to let them know that I'm right there and it's late and-eww ok anyway but then they would yell and I'd sometimes yell back. Ugh, I hated them. The lady, Barb, had a mullet. Why? I couldn't tell ya, but she dressed like from the 80's and wore mom-jeans...eww. Late one night, she and her boyfriend were talking and they were keeping me up so I had to listen to their conversation ;) and she was talking about how her son had drug problems and she got in trouble with the law or something, she was talking about some court date and how it didn't look pretty. But they were weird. They were the number one reason why we got out of there as quick as we could! :p
WhoStheBoss_Fan 01-10-2006, 10:44 PM when I was little...about 10 we lived in duplexes. the next duplex over there was a man who lived there that HATED kids. my brother and i used to play football, soccer, baseball, you know any game with a ball. well our balls used to always go over his fence and i would jump over and get them, well he got so fed up one day that when he saw me in his yard he flashed his gun! my a** was so far on the other side of that fence....what a jerk, he moved out soon after.
Number 9 Dream 01-10-2006, 10:47 PM God, yeah  We have this bitch of a woman next door to us....well, she BUGS out whenever we park our cars in front of the patch of grass near her house. Mind you, this area is nowhere NEAR her front door (her fence ends quite a bit before this plot of land) but she claims she's trying to grow a garden there or something  (I doubt it). Anyway, she used to come out and yell whenever a tip of the tire was touching her lawn. Hahaha, so one day, when I was getting dropped off at home from a good friend, I told him to speed up on "her" grass and drop me off there  I think he attempted to do a doughnut before leaving too :p :D
Courtnee 01-10-2006, 11:22 PM OH sweet jesus, I could tell you a million storys about my neghibors. They're "hardcore Chirstians". She lectured me how Metallica was the devil because I was wearing my master of puppets shirt while she was over. Lord she is stupid.
But it was so funny yesterday...You see her kids play with my brother all the time. One of them is 12 and is really creepy. She has issues I'm sure. anyway, I offered her some of my old CDs and I had one Jessica Simpson CD in the box and she looked at me and said "Mom says Jessica Simpson is the devil" I started laughing my ass off!
yeah weird people....
Karen* 01-10-2006, 11:28 PM I live next door to a bunch of college students and they can be pretty loud sometimes.
Much, much, much, much worse though...I think my last next-door neighbors at my old house were drug dealers. Well not all of them, but someone in there was a dealer. I knew cuz that house got busted by police one time. I also think someone there actually lived in the GARAGE. I don't know...those people were just scary dudeeee. ohno:

Jessica the devil???????? Then Britney is what??????
Dutabi84 01-11-2006, 12:37 AM I had some neighbors down in Texas who always had at least 4 Audi cars sitting in his driveway, at any given point. But they would change quite often. It's like he had an 8 car rotation going on.
PZelda 01-11-2006, 12:40 AM I currently live next door to a strange family. They don't do anything illegal, they're just...strange. That's it.
For a while when I was growing up, I lived in apartment buildings. When I was in junior high, this lush mom with two kids (girl that was two grades ahead of me and a boy that was a grade behind me) moved into the building. Jesus...that was an adventure in itself. They only lived there for one year, but it was one LONG year with them around. I felt soooo bad for her kids...they were extremely poor because of their mom's heavy drinking habit. :( The apartment reeked sooooo bad too, and there would literally be hundreds upon hundreds of empty beer cans lying around the apartment at any given time. They got kicked out in May of 1999, just right before I finished 8th grade and got ready to start high school. Last I heard, cirrhosis finally kicked in and claimed the mom's life - that was in January of 2002, when I was a high school junior. I haven't seen either kid since my sophomore year...I always wonder if they are doing OK and if they are leading better lives in a safer household.
Otherwise, that's all I can think of.

~*Hannah_Lee*~ 01-11-2006, 02:10 AM My neighbors now aren't really strange...but I guess their situation is. It is a family of about 5, I think- three kids and the parents. Well the house next to mine is really owned by the mom's father. He is the one who has the deed and everything for the house. Well, they started bugging him a lot (because he just lives up the road), constantly taking advantage of him, and he decided that he wanted to get rid of them. So he sold the land (about one acre) and the house (probably a 3 bedroom) to my dad for really really cheap (maybe $12,000....it was RIDICULOUS how cheap it was) so that the family couldn't live there any more. So, technically, it's our house now...but we haven't told them they have to leave yet. I think we're gonna give them another month.
My best friend has the craziest neighbors ever though. They live in a trailor across the road from her house, and it is crazy what goes on down there. The police are always over there, busting up a meth lab, or chicken fights, or something. One time they had a Welcome Home sign in their front yard....but this wasn't someone returning from the war. He was coming home from jail. Then another time they set the woods on fire, claiming to try and get rid of mosquitos, when in reality they knew someone had called the cops and they were burning down their marijuana garden in the backyard and the fire got out of hand. There's so much stuff that goes on over there....her family really needs to move.

OMG, that first story is kinda sad
the second one is hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the welcome sign made me almost bust a rib!!!!
Stormtracker TF 01-11-2006, 02:54 AM There used to be these EXTREMELY weird people who lived across the street from me. I could go on for hours about all of the extremely WRONG things they did...But the ones that will always stick out in my mind was these two.
Once the father of the family was taking a bath OUTSIDE in the snow with a hose...NAKED. I have no idea if he was drunk or what (probably was, the entire family was a bunch of drunks) but it was one of the craziest things I've ever heard of. I didnt see it myself thankfully, but my parents and my sister did, unfortunetly. I was taking a nap. Their daughters (and his wife) would walk around outside wearing towels, I presume cause they had just gotten out of the shower or something. Then they'd walk into the house next door. I don't think I wanna know what the heck that was all about.
This was long before those incidents, but when we first moved in here my Dad talked to the father and since our car broke down and wasnt repairable (would be less expensive to buy a new one) he gave it to him because he "wanted the parts" instead of taking it to a junk yard or whatever. Instead of taking the parts he DESTROYED it with a sledge hammer out in the street. I swear, there was basically nothing left of it when he got done. Glass and metal all over the place and in the street. My Dad didnt really care because he just wanted it off his hands.
About 4 years ago the cops kicked them out of there or something. I think they were selling drugs. Their abandoned house burned 4 times before it was torn down...And supposedly THEY were the ones burning it. Crazy junk, I tell you.
dawsongirl 01-11-2006, 02:56 AM We used to live by some hicks...yeah, hicks in the burbs. They had 3 fatass kids, all of whom looked like they had a combined IQ of 16. Their junk cars were always in the street, one of them blared their music, they'd play basketball at 2am, someone was always honking at 6am...god they were dumb****s.

 Sounds like the neighbors that live directly across the street from my maternal grandma. I used to live next door to that same grandma so they were my neighbors at one point. We had a lot of really weird neighbors when I was growing up. Add on to that, there was [is] an apartment building across the street from the house I grew up in, and there were a lot of loonies in that building. Their kids were loonies too. I swear...nobody on my block was normal. My family + my maternal grandparents were the only sane ones on the block.

robyrob 01-11-2006, 12:38 PM i can say with personal authority that it is much more rewarding to BE the crazy, weird, scary, loony neighbor than it is to have one.

EmoJoe 01-11-2006, 03:45 PM Well my neighbors arent weird cept their really religous. Their kids arent allowed to watch Rugrats.
phoebe7165 01-11-2006, 04:05 PM I guess I should consider myself lucky because all my neighbors are pretty great. I buy my Avon from my next door neighbor, her little girl comes over all the time to play with my cats. Another couple down the street brings their little girl down to see my dogs.
Before I moved into my house though, I did live in this apartment complex and there were alot of people who lived there who lived off the state, so they didn't work. Well, I did, and I had to get up early in the morning for that. Since these people didn't have to work and be up early to go to work, they would stay up until all hours, letting their kids run all over.
Then this girl who lived across from me would have terrible fights with her boyfriend late at night.
I was fed up with all that and told the apartment manager I was moving out. I complained to her before and she did nothing. She said if I moved out, it was an extra $365 for breaking my lease. I told her that nothing was done when I complained before and I was moving out anyway. I never did pay her the $365. She sent me letters for a while but then she gave up.
Mijada 01-11-2006, 05:34 PM We just moved so we really haven't gotten to know our current neighbors yet. I lived in a condo for many years though and most of my neighbors were nice. Some of them were kind of weird though. Every Saturday morning I would hear the guy across the hall from me and his girlfriend moaning while they were having sex. One day as we passed each other in the entry hall he asked me if I had heard them and apologized for making so much noise. Another time I was getting ready for bed and I looked out my bedroom window and saw another of my neighbors sitting in his truck receiving oral sex from his girlfriend.
The lady downstairs was really nice for about the first 5 years I lived there up until she started having leaks in her bathroom. She said it was coming from my unit so I checked all my faucets and the toilet and found nothing. I told her that the leak must be coming from within the walls and to call the management company because they are responsible for that but for some reason she got it into her head that I should be the one to pay for it even though it is clearly stated in the bylaws that any problems in the walls is the managements responsibility. She ended up having her son fix it and then she remodeled her whole bathroom. About 2 years later I started having problems with my bathtub. The plummer told me that he would have to replace all the pipes under the tub and the only way to gain access to the pipes was to cut a hole in my neighbors ceiling. Well she had a big hissy fit about it and I tried to assure her that she would not have to pay for anything and she would only be inconvenienced for a few hours but she was all moaning about how she had just redid her bathroom and now it was going to be ruined and her son had just fixed those pipes. And I was like well I need to be able to use my shower and your son must not have known what he was doing otherwise I wouldn't be having problems with my drain. She finally did give in and let them cut the hole but she stopped talking to me after that. I really missed her too because she used to be such a cool neighbor. We would sit down on her deck and chat and I even had dinner with them a few times.
When I was growing up and still living at home we had this weirdo family who lived across the street. The wife would complain about my brothers junky car. She said that everytime she looked out her bedroom window she saw the car and didn't like looking at it. My bro was a teenager then and it was his first car. It wasn't like my parents could afford to but us all new cars. The ladys husband was just as bad. One day a policeman came to our door and told my mom that he had gotten an anonymous complaint from someone on our street that our dog was going in their yard in the middle of the night and crapping on their lawn. Now we kept our dog on a leash at all times. She would occasionally get loose but never in the middle of the night. My mom didn't know who made the complaint so she went and asked everyone on our street and they all denied it. The people across the street weren't home at the time so she didn't get a chance to ask them but we figured it was them. She finally did get a hold of the husband and he admitted it. My mom told him he must be mistaken because our dog never goes out at night but there was another dog in the neighborhood who looked similar to ours that did wander around at all hours. The guy insisted it was our dog so my mom came back home, leashed our dog, brought her over to the guys house and asked him if this was the dog. My mom could tell by the look on the guys face that he knew he had made a mistake. We never had a problem with him again.

Wow!!!
Polniaczek033 01-11-2006, 09:10 PM i don't really have any creepy neighbors. they're all just elderly and really kind of weird. they're nice though.
i used to live on a farm, and the guy on the farm over one would always somehow let his cows loose, and they'd come and walk around in our yard. it was kind of funny, but not really at the same time.
i think we were creepier. our one huge goat would always run down the road.
Babes_Cat 01-11-2006, 10:12 PM mmm... don't get me started.
the stories involve him:
- lighting his lawn on fire infront of my mother
- dumping his wig and fake gun in my yard (and they were covered with snow so we didn't find them till spring when it melted)
- robbing the convenience store at the end of my street (which he gets his coffee at every morning- so they know him)
and most recently,
- being evacuated from out house at 2:30 in the morning by SWAT team members because he was drunk & had a rifle & they believed we were in danger... there were police dogs up and down the street, paddy wagons, (at least / no joke) fifty cop cars and men with machine guns in my kitchen.
oh my lord. oh, the stories i have.

Oh my gosh, we have those close to my school. Like I've probably said before, I live in the middle of NOWHERE. Rural Alabama...most folks didn't even graduate high school around here. But anyways, there is this family not too far from where I live...The "Lawrences." They are some winners, let me tell you. ;)
First off, their house is covered with old junky cars. I honestly do not know how you get to the front door. I swear there are probably 50+ cars in their little front yard, and right across the road. One of my friends told me that this guy he works with went to their house one time and noticed that their kitchen window was open. He asked one of the sons why they had their window open in the winter and he told them it was "for them to throw their beer cans out of." He said there was a pile of about 100 beer cans outside that window.
Secondly, if you ever drive by there....I don't care if it's 8 AM or 8 PM...someone is sitting on the back of a truck (or part of a junky car) in the front yard with a beer (and I live in a dry county...you have to drive 45 minutes to even find a place to buy beer). The boys probably started drinking when they were like 13 and it's kind of like a family tradition.
Thirdly, they or something they own is always, and I mean ALWAYS, in the road. They used to own several chickens...my best friend's mom ran over like 3 of them at one time one day when I was with her. You have to get in the other lane most of the time coming by their house because someones truck is backed into the road with their Gatorade cooler full of beer/moonshine/whatever in it.
Once my friend (who I mentioned earlier had the meth-lab neighbors) and her family were driving home one afternoon by their house, and were in the pretty big curve that is just past the Lawrence's home. All of a sudden her dad slams on the brakes and bumps into something. It was the Lawrence dad standing in the middle of the road completely drunk....and he got mad at her dad for not paying attention to what he was doing!! HE was the one in the middle of the ROAD!!
You know all those things they say "you might be a redneck if....", yeah they're who those things are talking about. They're definately an interesting bunch though. :D

Wow that last one...
Our neighborhood was normal. From time to time, we'd get our garages spraypainted by the Latin Kings, but they didn't live there, so I guess that doesn't count.
My dad was the local neighborhood grass growing freak. He'd yell at everyone who stepped on it. (me, my brother, my friends, etc.)
Oh and then there was an old lady that lived next door in a three story house that died. The house stayed abandoned for a good couple of years and became the local crack house. I remember coming home from school one day (This was when I was like 8 or 9) and I was the only one home. Well I went into the backyard to get the laundry or something and I saw a bunch of 20 year olds in the attic windows blasting music, drinking, smoking crack, shooting heroin, etc., When my mom got home, she made me call the police to get everyone the hell out of there and lock it down so no one cold get inside. This was also in Chicago, so the houses are located really closely together. It was about 8 - 10 feet from the wall of our house to that one, so my mom was freaking out cause she didn't want anything to happen to me and my brother.
Now I've been living alone for about 3 years. A year in the dorms and them an apartment complex. And for a college town, nothing unusual really happens.

OMG... That is the definition of hick.

It certainly is!!!!!
TheGreatPretender 01-13-2006, 12:37 PM We used to live by some hicks...yeah, hicks in the burbs. They had 3 fatass kids, all of whom looked like they had a combined IQ of 16. Their junk cars were always in the street, one of them blared their music, they'd play basketball at 2am, someone was always honking at 6am...god they were dumb****s.
Ireneparalegal 01-13-2006, 02:30 PM My best friend used to live next to this old lady who STANK!!!! She would go over there for one reason or another and she detested walking into that house because the woman seemed to never bathe. She had such a nice house, but the woman's odor was deplorable. I went with her one time and I was blown away. :faint:
