I'm in my school choir and I am interested, what parts would you people sing best? I am a tenor in my school choir. My voice is kinda high for a guy - LOL :D

I'm not in it anymore, but i was a Tenor.

I was an alto, but I shouldve been a tonedeaf. I haaaaaaaaaated chorus.

Often times the tenor section can be weak so some altos are assigned to sing the tenor part. In our choir they're referred to as taltos :)

I was in chorus in 6th grade and the teacher put me in the soprano section. I don't know what the hell she was thinking because my voice has always been very deep. I'm definitely an alto.

i can sing everything between tenor and soprano, around E4 through C7. my choir teacher keeps making me sing alto for everything though, i was a little pissed when i found out that he's making me audition as an alto II for state regionals, because he knows i'm already singing a "high voice" song for it.

I was in choir for awhile, even though I can't sing for ****. In JH, I was a soprano, then I ended up an alto. I think I should have just been in the audience.

I'm not in a choir anymore, but when I was in high school I was an alto. Or an alto 1 if you want to be technical. I had a low female voice, but not THAT low (alto 2's were lower).

Adult woman are always soprano's, it makes them feel "a good singer" :rolleyes: I haven't met ONE adult female that was an alto, which is dumb.

my teacher takes choir very seriously, that's what i like about him. he does voice tests before he decides which section we belong in and two of the three choirs at my school are audition-only, rather than having mixed good and inexpierenced voices throughout all the choirs, singing parts they may not be able to sing. that all has to do with why he's registering me as an alto II for the state regional auditions; he thinks i'll have a better chance of making it even though i can sing higher than all of the sopranos in both choirs i'm in, because i CAN sing damn low too. but i still miss singing soprano.

being a soprano isn't a choice, it depends on your vocal range, which is the purpose of labeling singers as sopranos, altos, tenors, etc. when i began singing i was an alto and since my voice developed i can fully sing in both alto and soprano ranges, as well as tenor. generally altos have trouble singing notes above D6 or so, and for sopranos, anything below around A5.

I know I'll never be a soprano, I naturally cant get into their range. *shrugs*
