I always make it a habit of smiling and being polite and saying "Please" and "thank you" whenever I go thru the drive thru of fast foods. Today, I went thru the drive thru of a McDonalds and this chick at the window just handed me my food, with no smile, no response, no nothing. I asked for extra napkins in a nice way, and she just grabbed them and handed them to me. I looked in the bag and noticed something missing and told her and she just went and got the item and handed it to me WITHOUT EVER SAYING A WORD. Crap like that pisses me off because I am sweet as pie with workers like that because I know they must not like their job and I don't want to be the "jerk" that makes it worse for them. Man, she was rude. Just had this negative look on her face.

i hate fast food drive thrus - you just cant win man.

McDonald's does not cook your food to order, so you always get overdone burgers, mustard when you don't want it, sickly pickles, and untoasted buns! :mad:

"Hold the pickle, hold the lettuce. . . ." Special orders upset McDonald's. Burger King, no. McDonald's, yes.

I really try to be as nice as I can be when dealing with anybody who works with the public, especially food service, because I used to do it. But whenever I go through a drive-thru, and they just hand me my food and don't say anything to me like "Thank You, have a Nice Day", I yell back "YOU'RE WELCOME!!!". I detest bad customer service.

Ugh, okay, this isn't fast food, this is a restaurant. I went to Johnny Rockets today with my mom, sister, and grandma. Our waitress came over and she looked really angry/upset and she had this bad attitude. My sister asked for a cherry coke, she gave her a cherry Sprite. My sister isn't really one to correct someone's mistakes - like if it's someone she doesn't know - so she kept it. But then my grandma asked for a salad with a scoop of tuna on it and the woman was like, "Well, that's weird!" and my grandma's like, "...what?" and she's like, "Never heard someone ask for that!" Then she brings it out and there's like two pieces of lettuce and one tomato with all this tuna. What she'd done was make a tuna sandwich without the bread. It was just terrible. The food was good, but she was the worst waitress I'd ever had there.

I try to be nice too. Why I bother sometimes, I dunno. :lol: For some reason, if I tell someone something at work, and they don't thank me, I get pissed. :lol:

I think the worst offenders are teenagers. Some of them are nice; it's not a total thing, but it seems like so many emo teens are working out there in customer service. Though I must say, I get irritated with emo adults too, because I think they should know better.

One time we sat down and waited for a waitress and she never came. There were three couples in the whole restaurant and she never came! We walked out and she thanked us. :lol: Needless to say, that place is no longer there.

I have panic attacks if we get ignored or if the food never comes. Seriously. I have to get up and go to the parking lot or something.

I always try to be pleasant and polite when I'm dealing with retail or restaurant employees because I know how thankless and physically and emotionally draining those types of jobs are; however, I absolutely detest poor customer service. I hate it when the clerk can't be bothered to smile and speak to me (Usually because they're too busy babbling to their friends.) or acts like it's such an inconvenience for them to be helping me. I generally ask to speak to the manager and take my business elsewhere.

While we're on the subject, are we supposed to actually tip at fast food places, coffee shops, delis, and other places where we have to order the food at the counter and bus our own tables? The only time I will leave a tip is if the cashier actually smiles at me, acts like it truly is a pleasure to serve me, and actually bothers to thank me for my business and tells me to have a nice day.

There is this donut shop that i go to sometimes during the week and I always leave the man and his wife a tip in their jar...sometimes a dollar in change or a dollar bill. Solely because they always smile at me and tell me good morning and they ask once in a while how my little boy is...etc. That kind of thing seems to be their character. They also throw in four donut holes FOR FREE in my bag. They did this from the first time I went in there. That is gracious and wonderful customer service.

That reminds me of something.... Is it just me, or does it seem like the older people are usually much more greetable than the younger people? At least, it seems that way around my city. I usually get a "Hi, how are you doing today?" greeting from older people who are 30 and up much more than a younger adult/teen. I guess it could go back to the fact some of them are just not as greetable or smilers. So yeah, that makes sense then....

My dad will tip at Chinese buffets sometimes, because they do bring you drinks, but it's usually just a buck or two.

Some ass at Dunkins needs to get a new job because the one hes at just aint working for him. I asked for a medium iced caramel latte. I get a hot latte. I told him I wanted cold. What do I get?
