I vaguely remember a long time ago reading abt a female pope who was pope for two years before she was "discovered" and stoned to death.

I had forgotten all abt the story until a commercial for this Friday's 20/20
which will talk abt this supposed female pope. I looked up info on the net and came up with so many links regarding this. It makes for an interesting topic, even if it's not true, just a hoax. take a look at these links:

I never heard anything about the Pope Joan thing until this commercial started talking about it. I probably won't watch it. I hate the way the big three networks cover any kind of Religious story. I always end up incredibly offended at them taking something that I'm so passionate about, so lightly. The program may be interesting, but I'm definitely not going to watch.

"Pope" comes the Latin papa, meaning "father." Joan was a Holy Mother. Wouldn't she have been a "mome?" :lol:
