These guys were SOOO uncomfortable and clumsy as hosts, however they were very good at OTHER things....

JACK KELLY - original SALE OF THE CENTURY (also on MAVERICK)

HERB SHRINER - one of the many hosts of TWO FOR THE MONEY. Didn't look comfortable during any part of this program. (But his HERB SHRINER SHOW ran a long time).

TOM POSTON (host of SPLIT PERSONALITY - great panelist, good deadpan comic actor, bad game show host).

DICK VAN DYKE (hosted LAUGH LINE and MOTHER'S DAY. Very awkward in this venue, but of course he was a multi-talent in series TV).

FRED ALLEN (hosted JUDGE FOR YOURSELF - a horrible TV host, but a genius on radio).

GEORGE FENNEMAN (hosted ANYBODY CAN PLAY) - a great 2nd banana to Groucho, but hideous on his own.

I don't think she's the worst. I like her... but you are right that she can't top Regis.

HERB SHRINER - one of the many hosts of TWO FOR THE MONEY. Didn't look comfortable during any part of this program. (But his HERB SHRINER SHOW ran a long time).

But that show was hilarious.

The first name that came to mind was Louie Anderson. God AWFUL as Feud host. Could anyone look more disinterested? I got more enjoyment out of the Mexican version of Feud, and I couldn't understand a thing anyone said.

If it was on the Spanish channel, I'm guessing that the host was yelling frantically and acting like an utter loon the entire time, and meanwhile there were many big breasted, scantily clad women dancing around the set at various times for no logical reason at all. Am I right? Lol

For my choice, I'm going to go with that one guy who hosted (or hosts, I dunno if it's still on) the syndicated version of The Weakest Link. Sometimes he seemed like he was trying SO hard to be witty and insulting that he really didn't make anyone look stupid but himself.

The guy you're thinking of who hosted the syndicated version of The weakest Link was George Gray. He also hosted GSN's Extreme Gong. Louie Anderson was terrible as host of Family Feud. His voice grated on me.

I don't think Louie Anderson would have been so bad if he didn't look so tired when he hosted. A lot of the time he looked as if he had no interest hosting that show.

I couldn't agree with you more on this list. While there's a few I don't remember,I'll just "rant" on the one's I saw.Frist John Davidson;he should be ban from hosting any more game shows in his lifetime! As a celebraity panelish,he was okay, but he should have stayed as one. Also ban for life should be Louie Anderson.I rather watch people eat rats on "Fear factor" than for hin to host another show(and I [U]Can't stand[U] Fear Factor!).And so God help me,if anyone ever,[U]EVER[U] gets the cute idea that Jon "Bowzer" Bauman is a good host for anything,I will find that person, and force him or her 1 year in jail watching reruns of Full House;they'll beg to be put to death! And how in the :cuss: anyone would think that Paul Rodriguez would make a good host for anything;I wouldn't let him call a chicken fight!!! Ross were okay and at least tried;Gordon Eilliot have no business in the United States more or less hosting a game show.Rolf and Bob the same, and as for the rest,I never saw the shows in questions, but I'll take your word on it!!!:bouncers

OMG -THAT'S- THE NAME OF THAT SHOW!!

I had no idea for the life of me, but it's one of those things that when I saw the name, I IMMEDIATELY had a flashback of all the times I've seen it in my life.

I just want to know why we don't have Super, Gigantic Saturdays like that for an English-speaking audience..:( Sometimes I find myself watching the Spanish one even though I don't understand any of it. But...well, it's not the kind of show you need to understand, anyway.

I'd like to see the unsold pilot of To Tell The Truth that was hosted by Richard Kline (Three's Company) Considering the following, it must have been pretty bad.

The Mark Goodson-Bill Todman classic game which originally premiered on CBS on December 18, 1956 and had several runs in nighttime, daytime, and syndication through 1981, reappeared on the NBC daytime schedule on September 3, 1990.
Some would say that the 90's version which lasted only until May 31, 1991 was jinxed from the very beginning. On premiere day (9/3/90), NBC fed the wrong episode. The network mistakenly aired the unsold pilot with host Richard Kline. This pilot had a different set but the new theme and format were basically the same. The announcer was Charlie O'Donnell. Viewers in the Eastern and Central time zones saw the wrong episode.

I didn't claim it was unsold. I just found the info on another site. I have 2 sources that say it was an unsold pilot & that it accidentally aired. A new pilot was filmed with Gordon Elliott who was awful. I never saw Lynn Swann's version.

Another I'd like to see is the original pilot for Wheel Of Fortune that was hosted by Edd Byrnes (Kookie-77 Sunset Strip) When Merv Griffin presented the series for NBC, they loved it but did not want Byrnes as the host. A new pilot was produced this time with Chuck Woolery as host & the rest is history.

That show bites! It's the longest running show in Chilean tv and finally it was cut down to 3 hrs . I've been watching it forever now and I had to stop. The host turned into a horny old coot.

#1 Jon "Bowser" Bauman formerly of "Shanana" was the terrible host of the terrible Hollywood Squares remake of 1983....get back to singing Jon....but, not anywhere that I can hear you.
#2 Louie Anderson , this unfunny "comedian" proved he was just as untalented as a game show host
#3 Pat Sajak, I know, he seems to be popular but, lets face it, hes on a show that could be hosted by a rutabaga, and still get high ratings.....mind you, Pat Sajak is 1/2 way there, hes already GOT the personality of a vegetable!

Paul Rodriguez-The Newlywed Game<< Id have had him on my list from the start , had i remembered his evil name......HE DESTROYED my all-time favorite game show...not only did he stink, but, the beloved "trellis booths" that the show was known for were replaced by cushions on the floor!!!!! No WONDER the show was cancelled a few weeks later!!! :barf:
May he rot in heck!!!!!!

Michael Burger
Pat Bullard

Michael Burger and Pat Bullard are the worst game show hosts in all of television. Both of these hosts are guilty of ruining two classic Goodson-Todman game shows. Michael Burger was very bad as the host of "Match Game" in 1998. He was very dirty minded with his perverted Match Game questions. Pat Bullard was very bad as the host of "Card Sharks" in 2001. He was so clueless he could not host a game show to save his life. Both of these hosts had the personality of your typical idiot. Both of these hosts are so bad I highly recommend to all game show fans to avoid watching any game shows these two hosts hosted especially top priority watching them ruin two classic Goodson-Todman game shows.

For sheer incompetence, no one could top Blake Eammons the original host of the 1986 USA revival of "Chain Reaction" which taped in Canada. Eammons only qualification to host a game show was that he'd been a one game champ on "The Joker's Wild" the previous year (when it was ironically hosted by Bill Cullen, the original NBC "Chain Reaction" host). Because Eammons was a Canadien, I think that also influenced his picking but he was so bad that he was out within weeks and veteran Geoff Edwards brought in.

Michael Burger/Pat Bullard by far.

I know that many would think that Pat Finn/Patrick Wayne would be the worst, but I disagree. At least Pat Finn had experience from hosting TJW 1990 which I know is completely different from the original version, but I really liked that version as well as the fact that it was the version I grew up with when I was young, plus you got to see him wearing spectacles. But Patrick Wayne, TTD 1990, well Mr. YOU WINNNNNNN!!! Gets to my nerves and so thankfully that was gone by March 1991. But Patrick Wayne is by far the worst host as well as the fact that he stands with Pat Bullard and Michael Burger as the worst game show hosts in history.
