View Full Version : Problems at Another Board
Chad Michael Murray 12-05-2005, 10:23 AM Okay, so...I don't like to feel like I'm unloading things on anybody, but this is just something I really feel like I need to get off of my chest.
At another message board I'm at, which I've been at for nearly a year and thought I was a respected member, things are starting to go not so nicely. There are a couple of members who are being pretty rude to me, but it's in that damn inadvertant way where you just KNOW they're trying to bait you but that you can't really prove it. I received a few PMs though that were clearly inappropriate, and so rather than create a fight, I alerted an Admin who decided that it wasn't 'that big of a deal'. Anyway, according to these people, I come across as having a superiority complex and that 'many people think so'.
So, I created a thread with an official apology to anyone who may have been hurt or unhappy by something I said by accident. I also asked that anybody who has felt that way to contact me so that we can work it out...NOBODY DID. Therefore, I feel that I've done my part.
Anyway, now one of those certain members is on my case again, saying that the only reason I wanted to clear the air was so I could fill it with more crap again. Something that annoys me is that basically, when I thought I was a respected member with a lot of friends there, NOBODY comes to my aid because they're afraid of 'causing waves'.
I'm just sick of being attacked and second-guessed left and right, and then having people act like I'm overreacting for no reason.
So, I guess what I'm asking is...what would you guys do in this situation? It's weird for me to think of just deleting my account at that board. I really don't want to...but at the same time, if this is how things are going to be, then staying there is just going to make me upset all the time.
Plus, now that I've joined SO, things here seem a lot more fun and less high strung.
Anyway, thank you all for listening.
MsOrange 12-05-2005, 10:26 AM what board is it?
Chad Michael Murray 12-05-2005, 10:29 AM It's a Buffy the Vampire Slayer forum...basically, a forum dedicated to all of the products and everything being made based on the show. People discuss the prototypes and announcements and all of that, but there are other sections too like this one where people can just discuss anything.
It's just the fact that I've been spoken to pretty rudely, via PM and on the board, and I've seen people get suspended there for a LOT less than that, so it offends me that when I'm genuinely displeased that an Admin says it's not a big deal.
MsOrange 12-05-2005, 10:30 AM i'd leave.. sounds like that board isn't ran by someone who is fair, and plus, sounds like it's filled with a bunch of bitches. I wouldn't wanna waste my time.
Dutabi84 12-05-2005, 12:26 PM I'd get nasty right back at them. But that's just my style, you know. It's not for everybody. It's way too easy for some loser(s) to talk **** on the internet and get away with it. So why not fight **** with more ****?

Oh believe me, that's something I'd love to do.
It's just that this is one of those cases where people say ALL of this crap, but then as quick as I say something back, I'm the one in trouble.
I think I'll probably just take MsOrange's advice. I'm going to stop contributing to that board and delete my account; I'll only visit the forum for product updates, and you don't need to be a registered user to do that anyway.
MsOrange 12-05-2005, 01:48 PM Oh believe me, that's something I'd love to do.
then do it... hell, your leaving, so why not?
Chad Michael Murray 12-05-2005, 01:51 PM It's just the fact that while I'd love to do it, it won't do any good at all.
I mean, if I'm going to tell people off and put them in their places, I want them to be taken aback and feel like *******s afterwards! Lmao
Instead, they'll just think I'm mouthing off for no reason and that they've done nothing wrong. When I tell someone off, it's always better if they think "Wow, I guess I really was as much of a jerk as he just said."
EDIT: Oops! I didn't know this board was censored. Lmao
Number 9 Dream 12-05-2005, 01:51 PM then do it... hell, your leaving, so why not?
Yea, I agree :) I say you go postal on their asses and then disappear, leaving them to scratch their heads in wonder.
MsOrange 12-05-2005, 01:53 PM It's just the fact that while I'd love to do it, it won't do any good at all.

fine, fine, i'll write what you need to post... you don't have to beg ;)
Chad Michael Murray 12-05-2005, 01:54 PM Lmao! Well. This is just rocktastic.
MsOrange 12-05-2005, 02:54 PM To Whom It May Concern:
You are all a bunch of fu(kers, ran by the king fu(ker and it's about time you all fu(k off.
Have a fu(kin nice day.
Sincerely yours.
Chad Michael Murray 12-05-2005, 03:39 PM UGH. That's it, I really am done with that place.
"And as for your obsession with being spoken to in what you deem a "rude" fashion, again I say you don't seem to have any problem with it if it's YOU making the rude comments. Clearly, you can only dish it out.
And I'm sure, in your head, amongst the Hilary Duff songs, and the cookies that taste of love in every bite, you've got some internal logic running that tells you it's okay to have one rule for yourself, and another for everyone else.
But this is the real world Matt, and people will give as good as they get, and not everyone is "nice" all the time.
You're trying to fix everything to your liking, so that everyone is innocuous, and everyone agrees with you, but so that you can swan around, passing judgement on everyone else from on high. Well if you want that, go start your own forum, with your own set of rules, and stop sucking the life out of this one."
That was just posted to me and just a mere example of the other stuff that's been going on lately. I so don't need to hang around a place where that's the way I'm going to be spoken to.
EDIT: Well, I just posted a parting message and deleted my account there...and boy do -I- feel liberated! Now...party at SO! WOO! ^_^
MsOrange 12-05-2005, 04:37 PM yayaya!!!1
musicradio77 12-05-2005, 10:10 PM I posted everything on my forum called "Disney and More" and nobody replied.:( That must be the problem.
KristinHerreraFan 12-05-2005, 10:43 PM How did this happen?
EmoJoe 12-05-2005, 10:52 PM Wow they sound like jerks, I would just say start posting normally I guess and if they still dont drop it, get nasty right back at them. If you get banned, then that's a board you wouldn't want to be at anyway.
Chad Michael Murray 12-05-2005, 10:54 PM Essentially, the board was filled with a bunch of crap-talking complainers. When I see that, I try to always put out some positive energy and not let everything stay so negative.
So, then recently I got some rude PMs with foul language and all that stuff. People on that board have been banned for a LOT less than that before, so I was shocked when I presented my situation to an Administrator and he said I was overreacting and that it 'wasn't important.'
So, a few more incidents happened, like the one I showed on the first page, and I'm just sick of being in a place like that. So, I left.
After posting a goodbye message, I deleted my account. A few people have replied (I just looked to see if any friends had seen it yet), and someone was 'nice' enough to leave this reply:
"Well yea things change. Honestly I don't understand people who create a thread just to announce their departure and then delete your account. If for some reason one decides to stop visiting the forum, I don't see a reason for deleting an account. No need for the extra drama."
That just pisses me off because I'm like, okay, my account is DELETED and I won't be posting again, so if someone doesn't like me they don't need to come and just beat the dead horse.
EmoJoe 12-05-2005, 11:02 PM Those people are *******s and not the type of people you want to be around. Tell them to stop emailing you if you're not on the board anymore.
snl 70s show fan 12-05-2005, 11:07 PM i know what its like to be in your shoes i left an snl board about 8 months ago because people kept getting on me about my bad spelling and i was also once told by a member that i didnt know any f''ing thing about snl or any other f''ing thing for that matter so i was told i should just do the world a favor and shut the''f up but even after all that i stayed because i did thiink that some of the members liked me but this one member started in on me again so i had just had it and after being cussed out by said member i let loose with a string of words that i rarely use in my own home let alone on the internet and then the other members who i thought had a lot of respect for me one by one all told me that they hadnt wanted to say anytthing before but that they had stopped reading my posts a long time ago and that they all agreed with the other member that really hurt alot but i realize now that leveing there was a good thing because it was getting to the point where i was affraid to go over there for fear of being harped at about my grammer spelling or just being cussed out . and at 34 years old it wasant good for me to be affraid of a bunch of kids half my age so i left and you know what? i feel 10 times better so dont worry you will be ok too .

:yeahthat
dawsongirl 12-06-2005, 04:03 AM I've heard Buffy fans can be quite the bitches from friends of mine who are also Buffy fans. Never understood that one.
Anyway, leave with a bang of 4-letter words at these people and their pathetic, petty attitude.

It's true. I guess that's why for some reason, there are a lot of Buffy fans that I can't get along with. Lmao!
I should've known something was wrong when a majority of people were saying they like to think that at the end of the "Angel" finale, everybody dies. Who in the hell would be wanting for THAT to happen?!
Weird, man.
TVFactFan 12-06-2005, 02:01 PM I was banned from a Dallas Cowboys Message Board because the Administrator didn;t like that I was a Giants fan. Plus I was annoying the other dallas cowboys members because I was gloating after a win. Plus he told all Giants fans that they should know that he is a SORE LOSER with a Ban Button-LOL And after I was banned I sent him a private message asking why I was banned and his reply was-"because I don;t like you or the team you are a fan of" LOL
Sharop 12-06-2005, 04:41 PM I'm sorry all of that stuff happened to you. But at least now you can forget about it all. Sitcoms Online is a very friendly place, although it's had its fair share of fights in the past.
Although you've made over 100 posts, I assume you're still "relatively" new, so I'll give you a belated welcome:
Welcome to SO and I hope you have fun.
