Mine is just okay. If I really concentrate, I can write really well. Normally though, there's nothing special about it. I have a friend who has the most beautiful handwriting.

View Full Version : How's Your Penmanship? Janice 12-03-2005, 12:39 AM Mine is just okay. If I really concentrate, I can write really well. Normally though, there's nothing special about it. I have a friend who has the most beautiful handwriting. Number 9 Dream 12-03-2005, 12:46 AM Nah, mine is true left-handed chicken scratch (or as my ex-coworker referred it as: "It looks like a chicken took a dump on a piece of paper.") Mr. Television 12-03-2005, 12:49 AM I can read my handwriting fine but its other people who have a problem with it. sara 12-03-2005, 12:50 AM My penmanship sucks. robyrob 12-03-2005, 12:58 AM I always print in block capitals - very fast and a little messy. not everyone can read it, but i can write upside-down or sideways pretty fluently. Fleet 12-03-2005, 01:13 AM Mine is in between... not great but not bad. However... PZelda 12-03-2005, 02:16 AM I don't have pretty writing or anything. I do have unique writing though, I haven't met anybody who writes the way I do. I never had the "bubble writing" that is so common among teen girls, back when I was in junior/senior high school. My writing actually resembled chicken scratch up to the end of my 8th grade year. I can write really fast too...My writing is actually very neat now, none of that chicken scratch stuff. :) Janice 12-03-2005, 02:22 AM Mine is in between... not great but not bad. However... I didn't know you were Chinese. ;) Bootsy Whoosh 12-03-2005, 02:26 AM I would consider my penmanship OK, but compared to everyone else's around me, mine is awesome! I am really good at deciphering other people's chicken scratch, just as I also seem to have a talent at understanding people with accents better than those around me, but still, some of my friends and colleagues have to most awful writing! And it's really bad too with what I do-not being able to read a medical record or orders is a real problem! My mom has to have me read the Christmas card her best friend sends her every year because she can't read it! My writing is a odd mixture of printing and cursive. I don't like writing in cursive, but mixing the two allows me to print faster. Fleet 12-03-2005, 02:33 AM I didn't know you were Chinese. ;) Chinese? Actually, I got the idea from an old map (1939) which had writing kind of like the one I used above. Janice 12-03-2005, 02:40 AM Chinese? Actually, I got the idea from an old map (1939) which had writing kind of like the one I used above. Yeah, the way some of the letters curve, especially the As, Is and Ts...sort of resembles Chinese lettering. It's great looking. The Chauffeur 12-03-2005, 02:49 AM My penmanship is a bit shaky because I've had that arm practically sewn back on at the elbow. But for some reason, it doesn't effect me nearly as much when I paint. I never could figure that out. Brad Russ 12-03-2005, 02:55 AM This is kind of embarrassing to admit, but I don't even know how to write in cursive anymore. That's one of the reasons I hate writing letters so much, it always makes me feel illiterate. My printing is pretty good though. Iv'e had numerous people tell me that my handwriting is more like a woman's handwriting, then a guys. I never know whether to take that as a compliment, or an insult. Mijada 12-03-2005, 06:47 AM Very, very bad. Always has been. My handwriting style has been the same since about the 4th grade. Teachers would always complain about it. gilligan fanatic 12-03-2005, 09:41 AM mine has definitely improved in the last couple of years. Mine went from being bad to ok. Now I can actually read what I wrote. *Pleasant Tomorrow* 12-03-2005, 11:43 AM I writ this: EmoJoe 12-03-2005, 01:36 PM Really really bad. EmoJoe 12-03-2005, 01:37 PM I writ this: You have such good handwriting! There's a girl in my school who's handwriting looks like it came out of a book. Grr. Im jealous of people like you :p *Pleasant Tomorrow* 12-03-2005, 02:01 PM You have such good handwriting! There's a girl in my school who's handwriting looks like it came out of a book. Grr. Im jealous of people like you :p Thannks. I don't think it's that great but blech. Girls generally have better handwriting than boys, though. Better whatever skills or something. It's science. Ireneparalegal 12-03-2005, 02:48 PM Ok, mine is excellent...i am always getting compliments on my printing and my handwriting. My penmanship teacher in 7th grade stated, when you apply for a job, your application is your first impression you give. So from then on, I always made it a good habit to write very well. When I write checks, or sign my name and then print it, or whatever it is I am writing, I am constantly being told abt my penmanship. I always give the same answer "Catholic school teacher taught me". It's something I am proud of and it can be a bother also; I get people who want me to write our their wedding invitations, other invitations, etc. At one of my old jobs I was always asked to make huge signs for the break rooms, etc. I was told that I should have taken up graphics or something related. Ireneparalegal 12-03-2005, 02:49 PM Thannks. I don't think it's that great but blech. Girls generally have better handwriting than boys, though. Better whatever skills or something. It's science. Very pretty. Nice penmanship!!:D TJL 12-03-2005, 03:17 PM my handwriting was pretty good when I was in school. I hated "cursive" writing, if they even call it that anymore, so I mostly printed. Nowadays my handwriting is terrible. Some times I can't read the gibberish I put in my notebook. Janice 12-03-2005, 03:19 PM My handwriting has gotten worse over the years. I think it's because I don't write much anymore since I've had a computer. Jonathan 12-03-2005, 03:23 PM I like mine. I get a fair amount of compliments. Karen* 12-03-2005, 03:38 PM My handwriting is disgusting and messy. One of my classmates even told me I write like a guy. :o So much for being ASB Secretary and the school newspaper editor! At least I print now...When I was in fourth grade, our teacher ALWAYS made us write in cursive and I've been doing ever since, till eighth grade when I got sick and tired of it and started to write in print again. James 12-03-2005, 05:36 PM My handwriting has gotten worse over the years. I think it's because I don't write much anymore since I've had a computer. :yeahthat I was using a computer as far back as seventh grade (1984-85) for papers. I also used one for about a quarter, if not a third, of my homework assignments. Also, I use my word processor (MS Word 2000) to print envelopes and address labels. AllIWantIsYourClutch 12-03-2005, 06:21 PM Ew. Adamantium 12-03-2005, 06:39 PM It was getting better in high school. Now, I just use the computer so much that I don't write any more. When I sign my check at work, it's almost as if I'm a doctor (I've heard only bad things about doctor's signatures). When I write in cursive, it's just really bad. In fact, I've forgotten what many letters are in cursive. Fleet 12-03-2005, 09:42 PM Ew. That's not bad. I was able to read it easily. spunkygirl 12-03-2005, 10:19 PM People tell me I have pretty handwriting so I guess mine's okay ;) Dutabi84 12-03-2005, 10:22 PM Mine sucks, most blind people have neater writing than me. EmoJoe 12-03-2005, 10:34 PM That's not bad. I was able to read it easily. Me too  Ambear 12-03-2005, 10:41 PM My handwriting is bad. I can't even read it sometimes! vienna waits 12-04-2005, 01:33 AM my handwriting is amazing. and i'm allowed to say that because people have said "u write so nicely" since forever. Courtnee 12-04-2005, 03:25 AM Messy. Very messy but I have this way of making my t's awesome...you make almost like a backwards j and put a line in the middle...:D Superstar 12-04-2005, 05:35 AM mine is neat sometimes and messy other times. If I am rushing something, my writing is terrible, and it is probably missing the lines on the page  I put a circle instead of a dot over the letter "i" :D dawsongirl 12-04-2005, 09:23 PM My writing is a odd mixture of printing and cursive. I don't like writing in cursive, but mixing the two allows me to print faster. Same here. The quality of the handwriting also varies with what writing implement I'm using. I write worse in pen than in pencil. Markers vary. |
