I have the 29 DVD set of Batman uncut that is Joker's work, done with the help and artistic talents of another trader friend of mine, Allaboutduncan... believe me the 29 DVD set is marvelous... the menu artwork alone makes this set superior! And to have all 120 episodes uncut... needless to say this Batfan is in BatHeaven!

Which, apparently, includes undercutting, as well as verbally swaying people away from, the very creator of some of the sets you sell on ioffer. (Referring specifically to your listing of Joker's Leave it to Beaver set and the "why buy from someone who only has 1 feedback" comment.)

How totally uncool. As someone who admittedly does not know how to author a DVD, you could at least show some respect to the people who actually put in the effort to create nice, professional-looking sets, instead of parasitically profiting off of their work while making them looking like the "bad guy" who overcharges and whose integrity is to be doubted (especially when you know it's not).

if you were on a sales site to purchase an item--any item-- would you buy from a person with one feedback, or a person with 1400 plus ?

further, if you were trying to make a deal--any deal--would you tell the other person in the deal that you have references--if they didnt know you???

at least 20 people emailed me that they wanted that nice batman set, and it was being held out for big bucks--they figured i could get it

i even had some people who wanted to buy and split it from the sales site

i even had copies of two emails that wanted big money, and no trade for it

what a person does with their item is their own beeswax--absolutely no question

i had a very nice 24 disc set, plenty nice and actualy it was a non factor for me

so i couldnt understand the uproar over the uncut one

and seriously, even though the menus are great---we only use menus to select an epsiode, not to watch

so when an uncut set was made avaible to me, i swapped for it, and freely have passed it around

i like certain shows, for sure some folks love this one

did i trade it for effect--probably 100 %

the major difference is that my set is avaible for a fair and honest TRADE of 22 discs

the other set wasnt avaible to the general public

so no matter what a great set it was, it wasnt avaible and seems to still not be

i havent heard one word from the creator that says its avaible for a swap

by all means ask the craetor if its avaible

i would rather have the nice 29 disc set with the awesome menus---buy the way i saw a screen shot of them on ioffer

Ok, well I guess I will get my hands dirty on this one too....

I understand that authoring a set from scratch takes a LOT more time than just duping one, Trust me as I am in the middle of doing up sets on 3 rare 1970s shows that noone else has, and Im piecing them together from a mix of dvd of a few shows and vhs of a lot of them and its a big pain in the tail----

BUT I also realize that the sets I put together, WILL end up making the trade rounds in short order, b/c once 2 or 3 people get it, then its everywhere----

This is the case with all new sets... like it or not, I mean the GIMME A BREAK Set that I did up was not the best, it was a mix of dvd and old vhs and only about 7.5 of 10, BUT THE CRAZY THING WAS, that as soon as I mentioned that I had it, There were 2 people on ebay selling the set and 2 on ioffer selling the set, AND I HAD NOT MAILED A SINGLE SET OUT TO ANYONE YET!!!! So those people must have been friends of someone who WAS getting a set from me, and they listed it prematurely. Crazy! But that is how trading goes, NOTHING IS EXCLUSIVE FOR MORE THAN 15 MINUTES!

I have seen screen shots of the 29 disc Batman set that Joker did up, and it looks GREAT! Chris does really good work as I have a couple sets of other shows he did up and he puts a lot of effort into it....

At the same time, Loren now has a 22 disc set, with the same picture and sound quality, also UNCUT non syndicated versions from the same source.... it doesnt have the same great Joker made menus, BUT for a real Bat-Nerd like me, It is better than nothing, and I am THRILLED at the chance to watch the missing 2-3 minutes that I have not seen in years!

If Joker would make the 29 disc set more readilly available, I would much rather have that one! But, if he doesn't want to circulate it, then that is his right.....

I have learned though, that in the end, the people who want a certain set, WILL END UP WITH IT, the only question is WOULD I RATHER THEY GET IT FROM ME? so that I can benefit from my authoring? Or would I rather they get it from someone else in a month, and then I get Nothing out of the deal???

Just my personal opinion and You can take it for what its worth....

P.S. Maybe we can lay this one to rest now? You think? Maybe.....?

Here is anothor thing to think about my fellow hobbiest .... people always say "same source" that's the easiest thing to say ,... and you can't say that unless you seen both ... i learned this early in trading ... it's very "rare" to find a same source set.

now the other thing ,... remember the "MOONLIGHTING SET " i recieved from someone in a trade a while back ? i asked around to a few people cause Loren said this set was "PERFECT" it had flaws up the ying yang ... annoying flaw every 20-30 seconds it did the matrix pause or hiccup. so whoever authored that set had no damn clue how to work.... beautiful picture almost a 10 but damaged by the darn hiccup every 30 seconds.

so yes it matters a hell of alot who authors shows ,.. as i said earlier their are 1st class set creators ,.. it seems like a heck of alot of them are on CPS ...you have :

Wow!. you make it sound like someone is duplicating the Mona Lisa. Your list is not the end of the world, that these are the only ones to put it in your words make a perfect set. I have a friend who does as good quality as any of them but doesn't have a shill hawking for him.

The whole key is the source material. If you have quality to begin with it's no big deal to make a good set. There are times whne you don't have a perfect print to begin with and the final product suffers. You can't make better then you start with. Start with 2nd generation tapes and you can dance to the seven winds and you will still have crap. Garbage in, garbage out.

It's like if you don't know them they can't be good. And by the way who made you art critic of the year?

As far as Loren I will say this. It would be more difficult to find one more honest then him. He grades fairly and delivers immediately, more then we can say for many others.

please --my moonlighting set is rated as a 8.5 to 9 of 10

you can see this in print on my premium trade list

i have never refered to any set as perfect

im sure you will find many people that will make comments that i grade very tough and under rate my items


even sets like carolyn in the city, that i took from my direct tv tivo

i trate as only a 9

so please dont tell the folks that i run off at the pie hole about anything being perfect, when its definately in print as a 8.5 to 9

if you would look at the common sales site, you will find other people selling the exact same set and listing it as a 9 or better

further proof that its underrated on my trade list

1. when i e-mailed you about getting the moonlighting set a month or 2 back ,.. you e-mailed me back and used the word perfect in describing the set.
2. i know i never implied you said,.. every set is perfect.

and one last thing this issue is nuts. respect and patience are two things in this hobby (i call it) that has dwindled big time ... last year it was poor media and read errors,.. we for the most part rose above that crap.

or it can be done taking time, energy, and knowhow. And they can end
up being great sets. But the expectations of the trading circuit is that
the set will be traded. Period, Any technical aspect of protecting the
disc can be broken with the right tools and the right time.

So the perfect set is going to be what you make it for yourself. Cause
anyone else is going to see imperfections in it. Even professional DVD's
people say "Gee, that was a waste of space to have the uncut nude
scene of angelina Jolie on there".

Do I think anything extrodinary has been said, no- not really in the scheme of things-
In threads like this, I usually get 5-6 complaints on the 2nd day.
Ironically often one from each main poster-
Sometimes it is due to people wanting the last word.
Sometimes becuase each poster "Knows" he is right.

In example- you don't agree with Marcus-
2 positive threads were started about them recently for good trades.

Which is one to believe.

I don't think it is as simple as someone being bad/good. But bad/good to certain people. Once you get a chip on your shoulder about someone it rarely goes away and you are able to find fault 50 percent easier.
Able to place blame 50 percent faster.

I think your right about hashing things out, and I think its fair to let all opinions be made open.
But sometimes we need to realize our problem with a particular user isn't the majority.

I applaud that you are willing to verbalize your opinion- but do be careful with your link you post- that you don't creep into the area of slander/libel.

And if you want people to be open to consideration someone is a bad trader/bad person.
Try to be open to the fact others may think he isn't.

As far as what he has said to who and still trading with. That seems to me, that would be between them.
Maybe they made up, maybe its selective getting what you need from each other.
A dvd from a man I don't like still plays. Sometimes all differences aside, people still want the show. You have the show a lot loner than having to put up with the person.

I was able to get the original set from the source and DVD rips of the first twelve eps. He tried to say they were the same as his set. He even posted a screen shot of one ep and people said that mine was definitely sharper and better color. If you disagree with him, he will threaten you, swear, post threads, etc. He really is obsessed with Tampons and asses. He has sent me a dozen e-mails threatening my wife and family, blah, blah, blah. I would have been concerned, but his e-mails look like they were written by someone with a 6th grade education. They were almost comical until he started threatening my family. I was going to file a complaint and have a prosecutor friend of mine go after him, but when he called the authorities in the city, state that he lived in, he found out the guy is harmless and somewhat mentally disabled. He lives with his mommy and likes to talk tough, but he’s really a coward. I figured if I went after the guy he would throw everyone (other traders) under the bus to protect himself. If you are having problems with him and having to put up with this crap contact me and I’ll tell you how to file a complaint against him for internet harassment. He probably won’t go to jail, but they will grab his computer and have him doing community service for about a year. Frankly, if I ever run in to the guy, there will only be a grease spot left of him. One thing for sure he will eventually turn on you given time! Frankly, I think he has had problems with just about everyone on this thread at one time or another.

I'm sorry guys, but I've had it with Dajz and all his crap. He has crossed the line too many time and until he gets it through his thick, brainless head that if he wants it to stop he has to just leave me alone and remove all comments from his site and his posts-future and otherwise, and then I'll leave him alone. He always starts it and I promise you I'm going to finish it. It really is that simple for him! Look in this thread, he just had to mention my name in a negative light. The funny thing is that he really did rip me for over 30+ discs, he admits and justifies it saying that they weren't up to his specs.

Everyone who has traded with me know me to be a very level headed individual. I have never had a complaint except for Dajz and he only started because I went to the mods when he tried to rip me off.

Jen and I only just recently started trading although she has received several sets from me on Tekken's behalf. She has been outstanding trader and I hope to trade with her more in the future.
