For me it still has to be Six Feet Under where Claire drives off into the sunset contemplating the lives and deaths of everyone she leaves behind...very moving and fitting end. Any other favorites out there?

View Full Version : What's your favorite series finale? The Chauffeur 11-28-2005, 04:16 PM For me it still has to be Six Feet Under where Claire drives off into the sunset contemplating the lives and deaths of everyone she leaves behind...very moving and fitting end. Any other favorites out there? Buffyboy323 11-28-2005, 05:10 PM Well I don't have just 1. So I'll name my all time favorites. Roseanne (Although many hate it) Three's Company (Although it was rushed) Third Watch (Good episode) Wonder Years (Loved It) Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (Very Satisfying) vashti1999 11-28-2005, 05:18 PM I hated seeing it go but I remember Fame had a great final episode. Mister Ed 11-28-2005, 08:58 PM The Golden Girls and Friends. Fonzarelli 11-28-2005, 09:35 PM I haven't seen that many.. Actually, the finales from my favorite series I even haven't seen (Happy Days, Boy meets World, Frasier). The ones I have seen where no good: Full House: not even a 'real' finale (there war supposed to be another season- that's why). The Nanny: I didn't even like the last season with Niles and CC becoming a couple. How dumb was that? So no need to say how I disliked the finale. The Wonder Years: also not even a 'real' finale. It was the last part of a 2-parter, and in the last 5 minutes the adult Kevin quickly tells us how his dad died, Wayne took over his dad's bussiness and he, Kevin, didn't marry Winnie. We never get to see this, he just tells it in the last 5 minutes. I didn't even realize it was supposed to be the finale. So the only finale I really liked was the Friends-finale. Kristen 11-28-2005, 09:41 PM Mine would have to be Mary Tyler Moore. Can't get much better than that! Other finales I also like: Murphy Brown - Murphy being cancer free, the returns of Eldin and Phil, just classic stuff. Wings - Helen finally having some success w/ her cello, Brian taking over Sandpiper. Again, classic. The Golden Girls - Dorothy's wedding was a perfect way to end. Nice mix of comedy and emotion. Kristen Joker85 11-28-2005, 11:27 PM The Golden Girls Mary Tyler Moore Frasier Cheers Friends Everybody Loves Raymond Star Trek: TNG Murphy Brown All of these had good final episodes I thought. Classicshowsgurl15 11-29-2005, 12:09 AM My favorites are Happy Days Family Ties(even though I haven't seen all of it) Friends Little House on the Prairie The Cosby Show Spin City(the one where Mike leaves even though that isn't the finale) Family Matters Zebra 3 11-29-2005, 02:52 AM I'm not going to give it away, but Newhart (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/forumdisplay.php?f=93)'s finale is tops with me. tvfan0101 11-29-2005, 01:36 PM The last episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, followed by Angel, due South and M*A*S*H. gilligan fanatic 11-29-2005, 02:04 PM M*A*S*H and The Fugitive's phoebe7165 11-29-2005, 02:09 PM I'm not going to give it away, but Newhart (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/forumdisplay.php?f=93)'s finale is tops with me. That ending was pure genius!! I think Bob Newhart said that the last scene was his wife's idea!! Let's see-- Golden Girls--couldn't help crying when Dorothy is saying good-bye to the girls Friends--but I wish they would've at least mentioned about Joey moving to Calif. The writers already had his show in the works so it wasn't like they decided to do a spin-off after the Friends finale. And I also would've liked it if Monica found out she was pregnant after all after getting the other babies. I guess the writers didn't want to leave any loose ends with that one. Wings--The same thing Kristen said, Helen finally fulfills her dream and Brian finally becomes a responsible adult. M*A*S*H--Isn't this still one of the top 10 most watched things on TV? tvfan 2 11-29-2005, 05:36 PM I like the end of Quantum Leap. tv star collector 11-29-2005, 07:25 PM I'm not going to give it away, but Newhart (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/forumdisplay.php?f=93)'s finale is tops with me. Likewise. Hilarious ... and totally unexpected! The Chauffeur 11-29-2005, 09:40 PM I'm not going to give it away, but Newhart (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/forumdisplay.php?f=93)'s finale is tops with me. That was pretty genius  Adamantium 11-30-2005, 12:34 AM My favorite is "The Odd Couple." After five seasons, the show ends with Felix getting back together with Gloria (with a little help from Oscar) the two are remarried, and Oscar finally gets the apartment to himself. Once Felix and Gloria are pronounced "Man and Wife", Oscar shouts "I'm Free, I'm Free!." Plus, it was all done in a half hour. I also liked the "Wings" finale. It was a great episode in a not-so-great last season. "Boy Meets World" was also good, I just wish it didn't have all the flash backs. But the actual plot and the final scene was classic. friendsfan77 11-30-2005, 12:46 AM Friends, Mary Tyler Moore, Newhart, Golden Girls, WKRP in Cincinnati, Are You Being Served?. I thought The Parkers was a pretty decent one too. Any Moesha watchers? I was so mad when they only showed one part of the last show. treky 11-30-2005, 03:06 AM FAVORITES NEWHART THE ODD COUPLE STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION STAR TREK: VOYAGER LEAST FAVORITES ROSEANNE QUANTUM LEAP-a lot of people didn't like this one, because the ending seemed rushed. Because it wasn't filmed as the finale, but then NBC canncelled it, so they reedit it instead of filming a new ending. and the number one choice for stupid, dumb finales-MASH dave insinga 11-30-2005, 05:45 PM boy meets world happy days(all though i liked WELCOME HOME PTS 1& 2 better) threes company growing pains wonder years one day at a time fresh prince mash roseanne good times friends Sterling Holobyte 11-30-2005, 05:56 PM Are You Being Served?. Are You Being Served? had a finale? Maybe I just don't remember it because I haven't seen it in a while, but all I remember is the show ending with a regular episode and then later they started up Are You Being Served?Again!(Grace and Favour to our European friends). Well, I'd like to see it if there is one. friendsfan77 11-30-2005, 08:03 PM Are You Being Served? had a finale? Maybe I just don't remember it because I haven't seen it in a while, but all I remember is the show ending with a regular episode and then later they started up Are You Being Served?Again!(Grace and Favour to our European friends). Well, I'd like to see it if there is one. It wasn't a finale per se, but "The Pop Star" in my eyes seemed like a good way to end the show. spunkygirl 11-30-2005, 08:08 PM Boy Meets World Wings Home Improvement Friends Star Trek: The Next Generation Sabrina The Teenage Witch Johnny S 11-30-2005, 08:32 PM My favourite show also has my favourite finale... Friends! Buffy The Vampire Slayer also had an interesting finale. Southern Hellraiser 11-30-2005, 08:35 PM Murphy Brown vashti1999 11-30-2005, 09:53 PM fresh prince I forgot about that one. Fresh Prince of Bel Air did have a nice finale episode too.
