As for the question, not much. My dad watches it all the time. Only thing I know is that Pete Deuel shot himself to death on Christmas. Don't remember why though.

I know a little about it. It aired on ABC in the early 70s, and the pilot was shown as a TV movie. I think they got the idea from the success of the movie "Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid" w/Paul Newman & Robert Redford.

Yes, Peter Duel did commit suicide & they replaced him in the show, but a LOT of people say the show "jumped the shark" then.
