I couldn't stand Screech Powers from Saved By The Bell. My girls would watch that show when they were younger and hearing that irritating voice and hearing the dumb things he said was sooooooooo idiotic.

Chachi from Happy Days. Why oh why couldn't they use Fonzie's nephew as an addition to this show instead of this lame cousin? I couldn't stand him

as for Chachi's uselessness, I think Flip has him trumped... unless someone can explain those ridiculous midriff-baring halfshirts in what was supposed to be the early sixties

Yes Spike....thanx...ah, that would have been awesome.

Yeah, again, i will say that Slappy Days, ooops, I mean, Happy Days didn't stay with the period piece too long after season two. Slooooooowwwwwlllly they faded away from that and just went for laughs (cheap ones too) and way outta there stuff. Those damn half-shirts, ridiculous and idiotic, and oh yeah, pathetic. Chachi didn't help either with his tight 70's jeans, that 70's hair, that AWFULLY STUPID LEG HEAD THING THERE, yeah that damn handkerchief. I remember watching Gary Marshall saying they were trying to go for some sort of, can't think of the word, but he was hoping all the kids watching the show would catch on to that and kids would be seen wearing those damn bandanas on their legs. STUPID STUPID STUPID.

Ross Geller (David Schwimmer) on Friends. Just a whiny simpering loser. So annoying.

Ray Barone on Everybody Loves Raymond. Wait, scratch that. EVERYBODY on that show I despise.

Roger Phillips (Ted McGinley) on Happy Days. Not funny at all!

Pippa on The Facts of Life. See above.

Cousin Oliver on the Brady Bunch. See above.

Roseanne's mother on Roseanne - what a shrill, overbearing hag.She was on the show FAR too much in the later years.

OMG, that's how long it's been since I have seen ODAAT!!! Yeah, Howard Hessman...i like him as an actor, and u are right abt his character. It's almost, not alot, but almost like he is the male version of Ann Romano. They figured her character was awesome the way she was, therefore, hook her up with the same type of personality.

That's a hard one...

But I guess that would have to be the second Morgan Matthews on 'Boy meets World', played by Lindsay Ridgeway. First, they have this adorable, cute, funny Lily Nicksay playing Morgan just fine. Then they ignore the character for an entire season. Then they bring her back and Ridgeway is playing the part. Sure, it is fun to see them poke fun at the Chuck Cunningham-syndrome, but they should've sticked with Nicksay.

My choice for two of the worst sitcom characters are:

1. James Evans (Good Times) - He had a bad attitude problem. He was always mad and always took his anger out on everybody. He had a bad attitude towards people including his own family. He treated his family like garbage. A very nasty person.Very unpleasant to watch.

2. Marie Barone (Everybody Loves Raymond) - A control freak who can't leave her children alone. She treats them like babies constantly and sticks her nose in their lives giving them no privacy. She's very nosy and very obnoxious. She's right in front of James Evans because she is another character very unpleasant to watch.

I'm responding for my wife. She can't stand Fred Sanford. She doesn't like the things he says, like, "You dummy," and his attitude. She refuses to ever watch "Sanford and Son." I don't share her extreme dislike for Red Foxx's character; I can take him or leave him. But her dislike for Fred Sanford is so intense that I needed to share it.

I am sure that I posted on a thread similar to this one; but the character I loathe the most is that annoying twit Levitt from Barney Miller!
I despise him, his character was not even remotely funny, and all that ass kissing towards Barney was enough to make me gag.

I dont HATE Screech, but i did find him very annoying and find myself going 'what a fool' whenever he's on. But seriously if i met Dustin Diamond in real life in my eyes he's still a big geek. I cannot think anything different of him unfortunately.

I REALLY REALLY hated Larry Tate on Bewitched. He was a *****, haha.

Joey Gladstone and Danny Tanner--Full House

I really don't care for anybody on that show at all except for Jesse and Becky anyway, but those two characters take the cake for the two MOST annoying that I've ever seen.

The thing I can't stand about Joey is that he's supposed to be the funniest one of all, since he's a comedian, but...his jokes just AREN'T funny! And it drives me up a wall when the other characters are acting like he's some kind of a hilarious comical genius.

And the thing I can't stand about Danny is that...he's played by Bob Saget.

Darrin Stevens- Bewitched. A product of the time, no doubt, but to me he was such a controller. Don't use your magic! Gaw...that's like telling someone not to ever go to the bathroom. Magic just came naturally to Samantha. And it's not like she was a fish-out-of-water. She knew not to go around using magic everywhere.

sounds like you're describing Roseanne herself...she is also a shrill, overbearing hag...

You made some excellent picks... I also can't stand the entire cast of "Raymond"...

In fact, everyone on this board has made some excellent choices for this category...

Screech
Chachi
McGinnley (he's his own category over at "Jump the Shark")
Alice AND Flo from "Alice"
Urkell
Nick from "Family Ties"
The Grandparents (all of them) on "The Cosby Show"
Phylicia Rashaad (I know she's divorced now)
ALF, and anyone associated with that show
Designing Women cast (all of 'em)

Steve Urkel is another one of the worst television characters in my opinion. He's stupid, ********, annoying, and immature to watch. He gets on my nerves. A character anyone would love to hate. Very unplesant to watch.

April, from season two of Too Close For Comfort...annoying and completely unnecessary.

Just about any of the latter day add-on characters from Happy Days. I think Spike was definitely better than Chachi, but I think having a mini-Fonz would have gotten annoying week-in and week-out. I think it was better to just have him make an occasional appearance.

Oddly enough, I liked Scott Baio as lawyer Bob Boblaw on Arrested Development - he underplayed the character in a very dry, droll manner, unlike the very broad "comedic" portrayal of Chachi.

That would have been a great "Celebrity Death Match" show... and who knows, maybe they did make one featuring that match up... it's a natural for a show like that...

 I was going to mention that as a great celebrity death match. I would love to see it. Does MTV still air that show?? Dustin Diamond was actually in a celebrity boxing match on Fox a few years ago, against the guy who played Horshshack on Welcome Back Kotter. Maybe Fox should give Screech a another match against Urkel. I'd pay to see that!!

I haven't seen that show in quite a while... I would catch it whenever I was flipping through the channels and it happened to be on... I loved the matchups they came up with, and Screech vs. Urkel would have been a natural! And as I said, they may have actually done that one, who knows... I always wondered if Fox came up with that stupid celebrity boxing show after seeing Celebrity Death Match...

Well, it looks like C.D.Match may still be on...I just went to
http://www.mtv.com/onair/deathmatch/

and it talks about this weeks match (Bill Murray vs. Chris Kattan - see what I mean about the great match-ups!).
Might have to go looking for this to air...

Michael and Stephanie from Newhart. I know their characters were supposed to parody the stereotypical 80s yuppie. I still wanted to hit them both with a shovel.

Eric Cartman went from being a mischievous 8-year-old to a psychopathic A-hole.

Cosmo Kramer was kind of an inconsiderate dick, now that I've watched the show more as an adult.

Barney Stinson from HIMYM, he's a womanizing *******!

Sheldon from BTB is a whiny *******!

Russel from RoE...like Barney Stinson, he's an *******...is it me or does David Spade been typecasted as being an *******?

Charlie Harper from TaahM...need I explain?

Modern sitcoms just have these *******-ish characters and the others are one-dimensional!

Oh...and I hear many think Michelle Tanner from Full House is the worst character ever!
