NBA season is starting November 1st & i can't wait. How you think Portland Trail Blazers are gonna do? They signed Juan Dixon & Steve Blake in the offseason from the Washington Wizards. I'm very surprised Juan Dixon left Washington because he was one of their best players. That dude can shoot. Steve Blake on the other hand is too skinny & he doesn't do enough for me. Zach Randolph, Theo Ratliff, Ruben Patterson should do well for Portland this year. Portland doesn't have Damon Stoudamire, Derek Anderson, Shareef Abdur Rahim anymore so i think they won't make the playoffs this year. I feel bad for Nate McMillian because he should've stayed the coach of Seattle. I don't think Portland will ever be good again. Ever since Clyde Drexler, Terry Porter, Jerome Kersey, Cliff Robinson left Portland, Portland hasn't been a contender since. It's a shame Rasheed Wallace & Bonzi Wells left Portland because they were good when they were on the team but them 2 had to get outta town because they're ignorant LOL. Bonzi hasn't gotten in trouble since he left Portland so i guess he wised up. He's with Sacramento now. Memphis traded him in the offseason because he didn't get along with Hubie Brown.

When I was a Trail Blazer fan back in the day, isiah, I got up for Clyde, Kersey, and Porter, and Cliff Robinson. They defined Blazer fast breaking basketball. You're right saying they haven't been contenders since they left. You might not agree with me, but I don't think they should have added Rod Strickland and got rid of Danny Ainge. They never got back to the finals.

I liked Portland when Danny Ainge was on the team too. Can you believe Rod Strickland is still in the league? LOL. He was with Houston last season. They probably cut him after the season.

I didn't know that. He should have been called it a career.

The Blazers have a very young team(not to mention criminals). They won't be a competitive team for quite some time. If it's not dog fighting, it's marijuana.

I'm actually thinking they might do pretty good this year in all honesty. They have a young and talented team, and may be somewhat similar to what the Chicago Bulls were last year. I'm guessing they'll win 42 games, and then get knocked out of the first round of the playoffs in six. I agree with D.J. that they probably won't be a serious contender for quite some time, but I'm pretty sure they'll do better than they did last year. Last year was an embarrassment!!

I'm actually glad that Nate Mcmillan decided to leave Seattle. During the 2003, and 2004 season, many in Seattle were calling for Nate to be fired, since the Sonics weren't winning. I think he remembered that after last season, and it contributed to his decision to leave.

As far as the blazers not being contenders since the days of Drexler, and all those guys go, that's not totally true. They were contenders in 2000, when they went 7 games against L.A. in the semi finals, but then lost a 15 point lead, and the series in the final quarter. Had they not cracked under pressure, I think they would have beaten the Indiana Pacers in the Finals.

Embarassment isn't even the word. I'm a big Nets fan and I remember that there were bad times. After the Nets made the playoffs in 1998, it went downhill from there. Then all of a sudden, they are a championship. Although it's unlikely they'll make the playoffs within the next 2 years, they will improve. Just remember one thing. It's alot easier to break a team than it is to make a contender.

LOL@DJ calling Portland's players criminals hahahahahahahahahaha. People have made up a name for the Trailblazers calling them the Jailblazers LOL. The Nets aren't gonna be good for awhile. Vince Carter, Jason Kidd, Richard Jefferson isn't gonna be enough to get them into the playoffs & even if they do make the playoffs, they'll lose in the first round. Nets management is so stupid for getting rid of Kenyon Martin & Kerry Kittles. I can't believe Cliff Robinson is still in the league. He played for the Nets last season. I wonder if he's still on the team.

Qyntel Woods got arrested for having his pit bull in dog fights and Damon Stoudamire always got caught with marijuana. Now, they are both out of Portland. The Nets do look good. Marc Jackson is playing very well and the young players are improving(except Jason Collins). I can understand the Nets trading Kittles but not Martin. He was the backbone of that team. Clifford Robinson is still playing for the Nets because he has that player option. The Nets may end up winning the Atlantic because every team in that division is capable of winning less than 40 games.

Jason Collins is a scrub. The Sixers should've kept Marc Jackson. Little Mel you're kidding yourself if you think Portland is gonna make the playoffs this year. Don't make me laugh. Nate McMillian had a better chance of winning if he would've stayed with Seattle. Bob Weiss who is the new coach of Seattle isn't gonna get the job done. Antonio Daniels & Jerome James left Seattle & they were keys to Seattle's success last season. I wonder how much longer Ray Allen is gonna stay with Seattle.

It really annoys me when Collins, who is 7 feet tall, can't get a 20, 10 every game. At 7 feet tall, all you have to do is jump about 6 inches off the ground and you can dunk easily. Ray Allen signed a 5 year, $85 million contract during the summer so he'll be in Seattle for a long time as long as they don't start losing again.

Well, we'll see at the end of the season I guess. Getting rid of all those criminals, and basically starting fresh with a young team, and a new coach, should be enough to get us to the playoffs in my view. I had alot of people say I was crazy when I predicted Seattle would be good last year, and look what happened with them. Portland's not a team that will stay bad for long, I'm sure of that. Paul Allen won't allow that to happen. If he has to dip into his deep pockets, he will.

Darius Miles sure has been a disappointment. He didn't do much with the Cavs. He improved a little bit last season with Portland. Shareef Abdur Rahim is with Sacramento now. I didn't know he went there because he had failed his physical with the Nets. How do you fail a physical? LOL.

Speaking of Sacramento, I didn't know we picked up Bonzi Wells. I like him. He was the only JailBlazer...oops, I meant TrailBlazer I liked. LOL

Darius Miles sucks. I'm kind of surprised that he's still in the league, with the way he's played. I will miss Shareef Abdur Rahim a little bit. He did pretty good for us last year. I think this is a crucial year for Zach Randolph though. During the 03-04 season, he was named the most improved player of the year, and averaged about 21 ppg's. Last year he didn't do quite as well, but if he can get into better shape, I think his potential will be limitless, and he will be crucial to Portland's future.

I always liked Zach. I knew since Day 1 that he had a lot of potential and could shine in this league. Darius Miles plays like he is a 13 year old in the schoolyard. He has no jump shot and all he does is dunks. I hated it when he used to bang his head when him and Q were teammates with the Clippers.

LOL@Darius Miles plays like a 13 year old in the schoolyard hahahahahahaha. He does suck. He doesn't have a jumpshot. He's not a good free throw shooter. I don't like Darius & Quentin hittin their heads either when they score. That's ********. Quentin Richardson is a scrub too. All he does is shoot threes & nothin else. I'm surprised Phoenix traded him to the Knicks. Didn't Quentin marry ugly Brandy already? LOL.

They didn't get married yet. They have been engaged since July '04. As far as Q getting traded, I'm not surprised at all. The Suns need defense and Q doesn't have any. Even with Kurt Thomas in the starting 5, they can still put up 100 points easily. Had Amare Stoudemire not gotten hurt, they could have had another 60 win season.

I was wrong when I said that Darius Miles sucks. I got him confused with Qyntel Woods. For some reason, I always got him and Darius confused. Darius was actually pretty decent last year, averaging about 13 ppg's, and 10 rebounds per game. That certainly does not suck. Tonight against the Timberwolves, he had some monster numbers. 32 points, 11 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 5 assists. It looks like he's going to have an awesome year!!

Sebastian Telfair is another blazer to watch this year. He is young and inexperienced, but with time, I think he'll be one of the best players in the league. He showed flashes of genius last year, and since he'll be getting much more playing time this year, we're bound to see alot more of that genius.

I'm starting to look really stupid right about now. The season is only about 1/4 of the way over, but I'll come right out and say it, I WAS WRONG!! The Blazers aren't going to be making the playoffs this year. I thought the youth on this team, combined with getting rid of alot of the trash, would make them pretty good this year, but their record is: 6-14, and they've already lost two of their games by over 40 points, so this obviously isn't going to be a good year for them. It looks like they'll be lucky to get 30 wins this year.

Little Mel i told you Portland was gonna suck this year. They only got 5 good players such as Zach Randolph, Darius Miles, Sebastian Telfair, Juan Dixon, Ruben Patterson. Juan is really strugglin this year with them. I wish he was still with the Wizards because he did very well for them.

Brad Russ
12-12-2005, 03:26 PM
I admit it, you were right. It's been pretty embarrassing. The other night, Portland was ahead of Minnesota by 13 points in the final quarter, and lost the game by 10. Earlier this year they even lost a game by 45. I was watching that game, it was pretty humiliating.

Yeah Portland sucks and i know the fans are very frustrated. Nate McMillian should've stayed with Seattle. I wish Ruben Patterson would sign with the Cavs since he's from Cleveland. The Cavs could use his scoring because their bench is very weak.
