For a myriad of licensing and legal restrictions, we could not use the network masters for season one. However, I am pleased to let you know that Season Two (and hopefully all of the future releases) will be the original, un-cut versions of the show. The red background just looks tacky and I don't think that's a flattering pic of Roseanne and Dan. They also could've focused more on Jackie and the kids this time.
