Why did this show have so many different opening credits? Did they really do new ones every year? It must've been their trademark to do that.

When shows change the credits each year. seventies_sitcoms 10-01-2005, 08:11 PM I liked the first season credits the best. They still could've worked for Season 2 yet since there wasn't really a full season 1. Maybe they still used them yet for Season 2. Ireneparalegal 10-03-2005, 11:32 AM Wasn;t season 1 Opening credits showing Ann and the two girls outside together in front of a APT Building? yep. I didn't like those credits. seventies_sitcoms 10-03-2005, 01:46 PM yep. I didn't like those credits. I think they were in front of their old house in the suburbs packing the station wagon, and then it shows them driving down the busy highway into the city, and it ends with them walking into their apartment and plopping down the sofa all tired-out. I liked those credits. TVFactFan 10-03-2005, 06:23 PM I think they were in front of their old house in the suburbs packing the station wagon, and then it shows them driving down the busy highway into the city, and it ends with them walking into their apartment and plopping down the sofa all tired-out. Valerie B. is playing with a basketball and it says "Valerie Bertinelli", and I think Mac Phillips is putting stuff in the back of the car and then her name comes on. :happyface cach9801 10-25-2005, 07:08 PM I loved those! The Theme is the same every season-lol jamesanthony 04-28-2006, 12:49 PM Can u please describe the opening theme songs 2 me. I saw the first one and the second with Ginny Wrobliki. Year one and the first few in year 2 have the film of them moving, the rest of years 2 and 3 have clips from past episodes including Ann getting stuck in a chair from the Julie runs away episodes and Barbara singing as Elton John, Ginny is only in year 2. Years 4 through 7 have different scenes for each actor in each season, but the same general motif: scenes of the actors from past shows then a painted portrait of the actor that morphs into an identical taped shot of them, then at the end the whole cast is shown in the living room. Year 4's cast is the same as year 3: Bonnie, Pat, MacKenzie and Valerie (I'm not certain, but I think Valerie got the final "and Valerie Bertinelli as Barbara Cooper" billing in year 4), year 5 adds Michael Lembeck, year 6 excises Lembeck and Phillips in place of Ron Rivkin and Glenn Scarpelli. Year 7 I think had just Bonnie, Pat, Glenn and Valerie, but I think they added Lembeck and Phillips back into the opening at some point within that season. Year 8 keeps the same motif of showing 2 clips of each player from episodes, but we no longer have the paintings and the clips are new. This year there are 8 official regulars as they added in Boyd Gaines and Shelley Fabares and Valerie Bertinelli is now credited as "Barbara Royer". In the last season Howard Hesseman is credited second, but only in the shows in which his character was actually shown. I don't think Shelley Fabares was credited at all in the openings this season, though I could be wrong. Glenn Scarpelli was gone completely, MacKenzie was only in 3 episodes though they continued to bill her in the opening until midseason when Nanette Fabray took her place. Like all prior seasons the 2 scenes for each actor were new. |
