All in the Family EDITH to ARCHIE~"Im not sure who married the meathead, Gloria or me." the Golden Girls SOPHIA~"Silly Rabbi, Trix are for kids." Brett Ferino 08-06-2001, 04:58 PM Yes. And Tummi from The Gummi Bears. Jimbo 08-07-2001, 09:42 PM IF I remember correctly, Lorenzo Music's role as "Carlton the Doorman" came about almost by accident. I believe he worked primarily as a writer (or in some similar behind-the-scenes capacity), and originally supplied the voice of Carlton as a one-time-only bit for a specific episode. It went over so well, they decided to leave it in as a recurring part of the storyline. Can anyone confirm this, or supply additional information? Well I dunno about his part coming about by accident, but I wouldn't doubt it necessarily. But I do know he was a writer for The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and I believe he was instrumental in the creation of Rhoda as well. I remember his voice, but I don't remember ever seeing him. Kristen 05-03-2002, 12:48 PM Originally posted by Tiger32 I loved Carlton the Doorman, but did they ever show him in any of the episodes? LOL Kristen howilu 05-05-2003, 10:11 AM From what I read, they couldn't find anyone to voice Carlton, so Lorenzo Music filled in. But he handled the role so well that he portrayed the inebriated doorman for the entire run. In the closing credits, he was billed as "L. Music." BundyBoy10 07-10-2003, 10:29 AM How sad. He was fairly young too. |
