They're fighting for a wild card spot right now. They've been playing so well lately, it looks like they might get in. I'm not a baseball fan but i'm happy to see any of my hometown teams do well. The Indians haven't been to the playoffs in so long. I know the Indians fans would be happy to see them in the playoffs.

Their hitting is great and their pitching is even better right now. The only thing that could hold them back is that they have a difficult schedule this month: two series with Minnesota (their rivals) and two series with the White Sox (best record in the AL).

I wish the Indians would've kept Kenny Lofton, Jim Thome, Omar Vizquel. Kenny & Jim play for the Phillies right now & Omar plays for Seattle. Carlos Barega who used to play for the Indians plays for Washington Nationals now. Carlos was a good player for the Indians.

The Twins desperately need to win every game they can against the Indians. But, they don't have an offense. So that might not happen.

The Twins haven't been good since they had Kirby Puckett LOL.

The Twins always heat up at the end of the season though. Having Tori Hunter on the DL all this time has been a big blow.

Yes they have. They just haven't been great like they were then.

Yeah, true. But last year, they really turned it on when they aquired Shannon Stewart (I think that was last year, maybe that was the year before). They tried that again with adding Brett Boone, but that obviously failed. Hunter is desperately needed now.

I watched the Indians & White Sox last night. That was a very good game but the Indians lost 3-2 in 13 innings. The Indians are probably gonna miss the playoffs which wouldn't surprise me. If they do miss the playoffs, at least they were very good this year because they haven't been good since the early to mid 90's.

The Indians went to the World Series in 1997, won 97 games in 1999, 90 in 2000 and 91 in 2001, so it hasn't been that long since they were "good". It has been a while since they were in the series, but hell it took them 40 years between the '95 series and the '54 one. I really hope they don't blow it like I watched the Browns do 3 times in the 1980s! I think the best thing that can happen now, is Boston sweep NY and we win the next 2. Otherwise there will probably be a tie, and possible a 3 way tie!

BTW last nights game was a heartbreaker. Nice to see them give some run support to Milwood (as usual) .

I hope the Indians get swept by the Chisox. I don't see the Yankees doing much in this series with the Red Sox and if the Indians keep losing, at least the Yankees will get the wild card.

That's funny, I hope the Yankees get swept by the BoSox. :p

That's very possible. The Yanks can't beat Tim Wakefield and Curt Schilling has always been a big game pitcher. Plus, David Ortiz is the most clutch player I have ever seen.

Well Wakefield is going on 3 days rest, not that a knuckleballer needs a lot of rest. Who do the Yanks got going today?

(Just checked the score, Yanks are already up 3-0) Maybe Wakefield needed more rest.

Randy Johnson, he has been hit or miss all year long.

When you have Damon, Ortiz and Ramirez, no lead is safe.

Yankees can't beat Wakefield? Wakefield is 0-3 vs. the Yankees this season, and is about to be 0-4. Johnson is about to be 5-0 vs. Boston.

If Cleveland loses, they are down 4-1 right now, and the Yanks win today, Yanks clinch the East! Which makes a must win situation for Cleveland tomorrow. If Boston loses tomorrow and Cleveland wins, a tiebreaker game will be played. Go Indians in that!

TheShark8777 do you live in Cleveland? It seems like you do since your a Indians & Browns fan. Don't even mention the Browns losing to the Broncos in the playoffs 3 times in the 80's LOL. Just the thought of mentioning John Elway makes me sick. Bernie Kosar was the sorriest quarterback i've ever seen when he played for the Browns. The Indians hadn't been to the playoffs since 1954 when they made the playoffs in 1995? Damn LOL.

I live close to Cleveland, and I think Bernie Kosar was one of the best quarterbacks Cleveland ever had. For sure in the last 20 years. I would put Otto Graham and Brian Sipe ahead of him.

Wow, I didn't realize that. It seems everytime they play against him, he shuts them down. Wakefield lost his last start and he gave up one measley run. The Yankees just pitched a lot better that day. I am more scared of Wakefield than Curt Schilling, Pedro Martinez or any other pitcher they ever had.

Where you live in Ohio? I'm in Cleveland. I'm sure you see that when you look at my profile. I remember Brian Sipe LOL. I wish the Browns still had Jeff Garcia. He did pretty good with them last season before he was injured. Ty Detmer was a decent quarterback when he was with the Browns. The Browns gave up on him too early. I don't think Trent Dilfer is gonna get the job done. What you think of the Browns chances this year? I know what their chances are. They're gonna do sh*tty like they do every year hahahahahahahahaha. What you think of the Cavs chances this year? So far it's lookin good from the deals they've been making in the offseason. They got Larry Hughes from the Wizards, Damon Jones from Miami Heat, Donyell Marshall from Toronto. They should definitely make the playoffs this year. Jeff McInnis & Desagana Diop aren't on the team anymore.

Yanks clinch the East! Now us Yankee fans want a win tomorrow again and a Cleveland win to force a one game playoff between Boston and Cleveland.

Yeah he had his best game of his career a few weeks back and still lost 1-0 against Johnson. Other than that he has been rocked by the Yankees this season.

Who? Yankees are in. They just celebrated the AL East clincher. Boston and Cleveland still are not in yet, but Boston has a better chance, but anything is possible tomorrow. The Wild Card is not set yet. Possible scenarios for tomorrow...

1.) Boston wins, they are in, no matter what Cleveland does tomorrow
2.) Boston loses and Cleveland loses, Boston is still in
3.) Boston loses and Cleveland wins, one game playoff between Boston and Cleveland on Monday

Hope for #3!

Greatest thing about the Indians season, is they did it with 1/5 of the Yankees payroll!

Brian Damage
10-01-2005, 04:50 PM
Sorry, I meant the Yankees. I am a little confused because the Yankees only have a one game lead on the Sox and if the Sox win tomorrow, wouldn't they be tied for first place?

theshark8777
10-01-2005, 04:51 PM
Yankees have clinched. If the Sox win tomorrow they are in, so there is no one game playoff with the Yankees (since they both make the playoffs). The Indians had the same scenerio with the White Sox if they would have tied.

Yep, they lost 4-3. The Indians had a 1-0 lead, gave up 4 runs, and almost came back. The White Sox should have locked up that division a long time ago.

Well what else is new with the Indians not making the playoffs hahahahahahahahaha. When i told my father they lost Sunday, he said they suck LOL.
