Where is the cast of Good Times now and what are they doing? Does anybody know?

I do know that John Amos has done TV and movies, but that's the only cast member I know of.

Esther Rolle died in Los Angeles, California due to complications from diabetes.

Bern Nadette Stanis still does some off broadway plays. She is also a mother to two girls named Cheyenne and Brittany Rose.

John Amos as you know has been a very busy actor. He was a frequent guest on The West Wing, portraying Admiral Percy FitzWallace, chairman of the joint chiefs of staff.

Ja'net Dubois still is in acting. She had a recurring role on The Ways Brothers sitcom, The PJ's and was in the movie Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle.

Johnny Brown (AKA Bookman) still sings in night clubs and acts occasionally. He appeared in a national commercial for Popeye's Chicken and also guest starred in sitcoms such as Martin and Family Matters.

Janet Jackson...well, we all know her success after the show.

Ralph Carter... not much info on him. Rumors are that he is a Gay activist who has HIV...but of course that is UNCONFIRMED.

Jimmie Walker currently tours the country 25-30 weeks a year doing his stand-up comedy, and also performs on late night T.V. and game shows. In his spare time he writes scripts for T.V. and movies. He even has an official website...DYNOMITE (http://www.dynomitejj.com/flash.html)

Jimmie Walker tours all over the country. You could probably catch him. His dates are on the web site. I wanted to interview him when he came to my neighboring town, but he said no.

Well his people told me that he refuses to be interviewed about Good Times. He wouldn't even answer questions by email.

That's why I'm surprised he's going to the Good Times reunion. But I guess because thats the entire cast, and he'd look really stupid not being there.

This post belongs under my thread: UNGRATEFUL ACTORS. Wow, what a jerk. I can't believe people when they deny something good. I can understand when they have done something bad, or something embarrassing. But when you deny or not have anything with the very thing that put bread and butter on your table, that is being UNGRATEFUL.

The Jimmie Walker bashings make me feel very good lol

Not bashing anyone else, but I didn't see any of the Maude people in the funeral pictures. Anyone know if they came?

Wow! I had no idea that Ester Rolle had passed! :( I really liked her! Was this recently or a long time ago?

Sorry to hear that Jimmie is so snooty! He sounds like a real jerk!

I guess Jimmy and Esther never patched up their differences ...I read somewhere that when Esther returned to Good Times the stipulation was more serious episodes that didn't include the JJ Charecter ...I remember in the late 90s that Jimmy was on a talk show and John Amos came out at the end and commented that Jimmy looked like he hd been working out so I thought that they were all on better terms :(

it was stated in a 1978 Jet Mag that Esther Rolle never had a problem with Jimmy the actor, only J.J the TV character

I guess I don't understand why JJ Walker would hold a grudge against Ester Rolle. Did he feel that Ester was trying to undermine him and get him put out of the show????? If it was as mentioned above that Ester didn't having anything against JJ in "real life," only the "character" of "JJ" it still amounts to the same thing in essence because that was the character that he played. Thus, any diminishing of time on the show for the character would have been a diminishing of time for the actor portraying the character. Same thing, it seems to me. In that respect and looking at it through the eyes of JJ Walker, I could probably understand why he was mad at her at the time.

Concerning shows that begin to "get serious." Some shows are just comedies and should remain that way. That's probably why I watch them--because I want to watch a comedy. IMHO, people have enough serious things to deal with in their own life, they don't need to have "seriousness" thrown at them in the sitcoms they watch either. Some sitcoms really became ruined when they started to get serious. e.g., MASH fits that example for me. Of course, war is a serious subject but we don't need to be beat over the head about how horrible war is each and every week via a comedy show. If I wanted to watch a drama, I would watch a drama.

That funny, a few days before she died, they brought together some people from different CBS shows and Esther Rolle and Jimmie Walker were two of them, they were in a pic together.

Just because Jimmie wasn't in the Wake picture with the rest of the cast doesn't mean that he didn't attend the FUNERAL. Maybe he couldn't attend the wake but was at the funeral. Jimmie doesn't have to give anyone an interview, people do have schedules that they have to go by and things that they have to do. You can't grant an interview to everyone who ask. And I don't think stars get paid from the interviewers the publicity is what pays them.

How sad that is that Janet wasn't there. I hope she at least sent her condolences. It's called RESPECT.

A few years ago Jon was on 2 and A Half Men playing a gay guy with a white partner. Now he does commericals for Jonny Cocron's law firm. Jimmy does stand up.
