View Full Version : Are you good with directions?
Kay Scarpetta 08-13-2005, 10:40 AM Okay, so I just totally hijacked Janice's thread idea :p
If I actually CARE about getting to a certain place, yes, I'm good with directions. I'll get there if it's the last thing I do. But if I really don't like the place I'm going, I'll just sit back and watch everyone scramble as we end up in East Africa.
So?
Janice 08-13-2005, 10:59 AM Hey you! Remind me never to tell you about a thread idea in a PM again.
I am the absolute worst when it comes to directions. In fact, I have absolutely NO sense of direction. I can't count the times that I've been in my car, shaking like a leaf on the verges of tears, lost as hell. My husband tells me that I'm sure to be found dead in the trunk of a murderer's car someday, lol.
I know what I know, but beyond that, forget about it. I know how to get to the mall, the video store, grocery store, people's houses, etc. I don't get lost once I know the way, but if it's uncharted territory, I get lost 90% of the time.
My husband has been driving me to doctor's appointments, job interviews, etc, for years. He even mimics Morgan Freeman, and says, "Yesss, Miss Daisy".
My friends usually pick me up when we go out, if we're heading to a new restaurant or something.
Total loser when it comes to directions.
And Karly, I'll get you back for this. :D
Mijada 08-13-2005, 11:03 AM I'm TERRIBLE with directions. I work as a shipping clerk and truck drivers are always calling and asking for directions and I just end up confusing them even more. When I'm driving somewhere, I usually go by landmarks instead of street names. Whenever someone is trying to give me directions and they say go south on such and such a road I get totally lost. Just say left or right. It's easier for me to understand that way.
Kazza 08-13-2005, 11:14 AM If it's a good drive, I go to mapquest and learn the directions. I write them down and take them with me.No problems getting there
*MIBabe03* 08-13-2005, 12:10 PM Nope, I suck with directions.
Rachel3118 08-13-2005, 01:04 PM I'm horrible with directions. I don't drive yet and I never pay attention to where I'm going. I barely know the way around my own town.
rusyd 08-13-2005, 03:08 PM I am terrible w directions. It usually takes me a couple of times before I get it right. ;)
Tuesday Weld 08-13-2005, 03:09 PM I'm terrible with directions.
So am I.
James"Thunder"Early 08-13-2005, 03:12 PM Actually I'm pretty good at directions. I've studied geography and street maps since I was 7 and I know every backroad, cul-de-sac and shortcuts there are in my area. And if I'm in a new place I just pick up a map and I know what I'm doing.
YoliUSA 08-13-2005, 03:25 PM I'm pretty good at directions :D
robyrob 08-13-2005, 03:35 PM im good with directions, good with maps, good at finding my way around in new cities etc, I almost never get lost, but it really isnt all that useful because I still always show up late to wherever I'm gong.
Titania 08-13-2005, 03:50 PM my friends always remind me that im the kind of person you dont want to get behind on the road....because 9 times out of 10 i have no idea where im going.
ill have to change lanes at the last second, stop in a shopping center to dig through maps, call someone and beg for help, or my favorite- just drive around until i see something familiar.
CollegeDropout 08-13-2005, 05:36 PM haha funny u should mention it...no, im one of those ppl who gets people lost and pretends like they know where they are going, for instance we were down the cape, and we wanted to get from Orleans to Chatham, which all u had to do was stay on this one road, but nooo i just made something up and pretended like I knew where we were going

Oh my God, all you have to do is go around the Orleans' rotary and keep going straight
Dutabi84 08-14-2005, 10:10 AM As long as the directions aren't teh fux0rd, I have no problem following them.
I have a horrible sense of direction. You send me somewhere in a car, chances are I will get lost going there.
