Céline 08-14-2005, 09:59 AM Smallville gilligan fanatic 08-14-2005, 10:23 AM The original The Adventures of Superman. Also not listed but the original Paramount Shorts are good as well tv star collector 11-03-2005, 09:50 AM The original The Adventures of Superman. Also not listed but the original Paramount Shorts are good as well I'd have to agree. Mort Weisinger, of DC Comics, was involved with the original series; and it honed pretty close to the character created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster. Later versions, like the post-John Byrne comic books, have taken some liberties with that concept in trying to bring it more up to date. Still, I am a fan of SMALLVILLE (my favorite current TV series). But, for me, the George Reeves version is the definitive TV incarnation. barb1686 12-07-2005, 06:17 PM Never saw The Adventures of Superman, but I'd like to. So between Lois & Clark and Smallville I'd have to say Lois & Clark. Smallville's not incredibly far behind, but it's not quite Superman yet, so that's why I picked Lois & Clark...plus, Teri Hatcher and Dean Cain had some superb chemistry going on there. tv star collector 12-07-2005, 07:39 PM Never saw The Adventures of Superman, but I'd like to. The only problem that I had with LOIS & CLARK was that Dean Cain was too young. I mean, he was even younger than Gerard Christopher (who had starred in the syndicated SUPERBOY series a few years before)! Superman should be older than Superboy. barb1686 12-07-2005, 08:37 PM The only problem that I had with LOIS & CLARK was that Dean Cain was too young. I mean, he was even younger than Gerard Christopher (who had starred in the syndicated SUPERBOY series a few years before)! Superman should be older than Superboy. Really? Cause I always thought he was old enough. He was what, in his mid 30's at the time? Superman Returns (movie being released this summer) on the other hand, he doesn't look anywhere old enough to be playing the part...and he's not built at all. Maybe in the movie he'll appear to be a bit more, but to me he's just not Superman. Could it be they picked him so that they could release several movies over the years without him being too old? Or do you think it's to capture a teen audience? ...It could be just plain laziness to find the right Superman. spunkygirl 12-07-2005, 11:52 PM Actually Brandon Routh is very built ;) http://www.supermanhomepage.com/images/superman-returns3/workingout.jpg I don't know where people get the idea that he's not built, he's more built than Tom Welling, Tom's lost ALOT of muscle definition this season ;) Dean Cain was 26 when he debuted on Lois and Clark, and I think Gerard Christopher was close to the same age ;) Anyways my favorite series is Lois and Clark :D Mr. Television 12-08-2005, 12:04 AM Smallville followed closely by Lois and Clark barb1686 12-08-2005, 12:10 PM Actually Brandon Routh is very built ;) http://www.supermanhomepage.com/images/superman-returns3/workingout.jpg I don't know where people get the idea that he's not built, he's more built than Tom Welling, Tom's lost ALOT of muscle definition this season ;) Dean Cain was 26 when he debuted on Lois and Clark, and I think Gerard Christopher was close to the same age ;) Anyways my favorite series is Lois and Clark :D The pictures I've seen of Brandon in his suit made him appear kinda flabby more than built, but that picture does show quite some definition. Hopefully in the movie this sticks out compared to the pictures I've seen beforehand. And Dean was only 26, wow. He looked about 5-8 years older IMO, maybe that's why they were able to get away with it. Weren't Lois & Clark suppose to be about 30 on the show? ...I think they mentioned their age somewhere throughout the show didn't they? treky 12-09-2005, 03:30 AM I like the first two movies, with Christopher Reeve. The third movie was pretty bad, and the fourth one sucked. Munsters#1 12-13-2005, 03:52 AM I always loved the original with George Reeves. Especially the first season, because it was shot in comic-book style. Mr. Television 12-13-2005, 04:52 AM I like the first two movies, with Christopher Reeve. The third movie was pretty bad, and the fourth one sucked. This is a poll about which tv version of Superman you like best, not the movies. treky 12-15-2005, 02:36 AM I know, I'm just stating another opinion! Besides, someone else mentioned the Paramount shorts from the 40s, and they're not in the poll, either. SO JUST CALM DOWN!!! Mr. Television 12-15-2005, 02:45 AM I know, I'm just stating another opinion! Besides, someone else mentioned the Paramount shorts from the 40s, and they're not in the poll, either. SO JUST CALM DOWN!!! I'm just correcting you like you corrected me. Oh and I'm always calm. :) spunkygirl 12-15-2005, 09:55 AM I know, I'm just stating another opinion! Besides, someone else mentioned the Paramount shorts from the 40s, and they're not in the poll, either. SO JUST CALM DOWN!!! Okay I think you're the one who needs to calm down, he was just telling you it was favorite tv series not the movies. There's no need to scream. barb1686 12-16-2005, 12:23 AM My thoughts on everyone who is always saying stay on topic is that sometimes you need to compare and you will get slightly side tracked, just like you would in a regular discussion with your friends, hence the name, discussion board. Some may beg to differ, but that's just my opinion...sometimes you just get slightly off track, but it was all Superman related and it all came back to the tv shows. ;) treky 12-17-2005, 02:15 AM Okay I think you're the one who needs to calm down, he was just telling you it was favorite tv series not the movies. There's no need to scream.yes there is, if someone's talking stupid! spunkygirl 12-17-2005, 10:26 AM Enough already! Calling someone stupid or saying they're acting stupid is against the board rules. If you've got a problem with someone take it up with them through PM's. Anymore name calling or yelling at people or arguing of any kind in this thread it will be closed! Mr. Television 12-17-2005, 01:06 PM yes there is, if someone's talking stupid! You are really something. Let me tell you I don't go around correcting people on mistakes they make all the time. I wouldn't have done it here if you hadn't done it to me on another board. And I was a lot more polite about it then you were. It seems like you like to dish it out but can't take it. Get a life. treky 12-19-2005, 01:23 AM Enough already! Calling someone stupid or saying they're acting stupid is against the board rules. If you've got a problem with someone take it up with them through PM's. Anymore name calling or yelling at people or arguing of any kind in this thread it will be closed!OK; I'm sorry! musicradio77 01-07-2006, 01:46 AM I chose the George Reeves original TV "Superman". I remember that show when it was on WWOR-TV (Channel 9) 15 years ago. lockdown06 01-07-2006, 06:30 PM I love the old show and the Lois and Clark show.....but Smallville is my favorite |
