I don't get why you shouldn't hit someone who's wearing glasses? I hear this in a lot of shows, "You wouldn't hit someone who's wearing glasses, would you?

LoL. I don't know. MsOrange 08-08-2005, 03:30 PM do you know how much glasses cost??????? plus, the whole "glasses" image used in most TV shows is a poor defenceless nerd who has asthma and can't defend themselves but i repeat, do you know how much a good pair of glasses cost?? especially w/ out insurance barwars 08-08-2005, 04:24 PM do you know how much glasses cost??????? plus, the whole "glasses" image used in most TV shows is a poor defenceless nerd who has asthma and can't defend themselves but i repeat, do you know how much a good pair of glasses cost?? especially w/ out insurance Can't be worth more than someone's FACE. dawsongirl 08-08-2005, 04:29 PM Uh...you really shouldn't hit someone in the face anyway, regardless if they're wearing glasses or not. And out of his eyes. Yiaaa, law suittt. TheHappyBurgerMeister 08-08-2005, 07:58 PM I don't really understand why they say it either, because it kind of sounds like they're saying "But it's OK to hit someone if they're NOT wearing glasses!" It's not OK to hit ANYONE- regardless if they're wearing glasses. Penny Lane 08-08-2005, 08:28 PM I don't know unless way back when someone who wore glasses were geeky and defenseless? That is.......... a Wimp? rusyd 08-08-2005, 10:18 PM I don't know how it started, but I liked it because all my life I have worn glasses. ;) TripperFan 08-08-2005, 11:20 PM handy tip: if someone IS going to punch you in the face, if you lower your forehead and actually headbutt their hand with it, you will hurt them a LOT more than it will hurt you - do it right and they will probably never try to punch anyone in the face ever again.... Is this the voice of experience talking? ;) Mikado 08-08-2005, 11:58 PM Glad i no longer have to wear mine :p Steve M. 08-10-2005, 08:50 AM I don't get why you shouldn't hit someone who's wearing glasses? I hear this in a lot of shows, "You wouldn't hit someone who's wearing glasses, would you? "But I have contacts!" "I don't care how many important people you know - I'm punching you in the face anwyay!" Rachel3118 08-10-2005, 10:13 AM As long as you don't hit someone where the glasses are you wouldn't break them. I'm not exactly sure what would happen if you hit them hard where the glasses were. When my sister first got glasses she was like don't hit me, you'll break my glasses but as long as you hit them were the glasses aren't the glasses wouldn't break. I NEEDED new glasses back in May, my previous ones were falling apart. This was the first pair I paid for all by myself. The frames itself was no problem- it's the lens that will set you back, esp. if you want special coatings on it! :cuss: The stupid quacks wanted half of the cost of my glasses upfront the day my glasses finally came in -- THAT made me really mad!! MsOrange 08-10-2005, 01:35 PM God...you're telling me. Well, it's not. Needless to say i've got glasses that look like the bottomn of glass bottles and no, theres no special coating. And it STILL set me back 300 dollars. OMG...that's how much mine cost too! Well, it was $290. And half of $290 upfront was, of course, $145. :soapbox: That was at the end of May, and they hadn't even billed me for June yet...So I ended up paying $195 for the month of June. Stupid quacks. :smash: The freaking lens were like $180 because I asked for the anti-reflective coating...FAR more than what the actual frames cost. At that price, I'd rather walk around blind! MsOrange 08-10-2005, 01:55 PM well my prescription was so strong they i suppose felt the need to charge me more or SOMETHING cause I got the cheapest frames I liked... if i was going to pay for 'em, i was at least gonna like 'em... but they weren't any expensive thing I could have gotten. It's crazy. It cost to much to have poor vision!!! I just couldn't stand that kid. He annoyed me so much. He would always follow me wherever I went. He would tell lies to my classmates that he and I were going out. He'd would always try to sit by me during lunch and if successful burped in my face in front of my friends and on my food. So don't give me this bully crap. I had a right to punch him in the face. And with the low self-esteem thingy that you brought up, ha ... I had a great self-esteem. I had lots of friends and almost every boy in my class liked me a lot. I made perfect grades and was actually on the honor roll. I was considered the #1 cheerleader in my cheerleading squad. I earned lots of awards and was one of the most brightest and recognizeable students in my entire school. So don't give me this self-esteem crap either. I lived every kid's dream of experiencing middle school. :D does that include the blowjob that showed up on the big TVs at your dance that got you expelled?! Damn, you're just like Cinderella. Little belle of the ball. PZelda 08-13-2005, 11:53 AM I lived every kid's dream of experiencing middle school. :D Uh-huh. My junior high years were AWESOME, and I did none of the things you listed. "I lived every kid's dream", ********! |
