The longest layover I had was in London for 3 hours, but I enjoyed it because I've never been to England before. Yea, not the best way to really get a taste of "British" culture, but it was better than nothing. :D TJL 07-26-2005, 04:55 AM When people ask me if I've ever been to california, I say yes, but I don't mention that it was for only 3 hours while I waited for a flight to Vegas. If you're ever out there, the McDonald's at LAX is fantastic. ;) Sara Micelli 07-26-2005, 05:06 AM 6 hours was the longest layover I've ever had. dawsongirl 07-26-2005, 05:53 PM I dunno...a couple hours? Last one I remember was the Denver airport. I was told not to eat the nachos. swedeace 07-26-2005, 08:05 PM Five hours in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Mijada 07-26-2005, 08:10 PM A couple hours in Orlando, Florida Dutabi84 07-29-2005, 01:05 AM Really short layovers kind of suck. I think I had a 30 minute layover in Denver, which is the biggest airport in the U.S. I had to run like hell to get to my new plane. PZelda 07-29-2005, 01:11 AM Really short layovers kind of suck. I think I had a 30 minute layover in Denver, which is the biggest airport in the U.S. I had to run like hell to get to my new plane. Haha! I hear ya! I was flying home from London, England and had to go through customs at Detroit Metro in Detroit, MI. We were flying out to Minneapolis and the stupid pilot in Detroit insisted the passengers wait 20 more minutes before taking off for the rest of the passengers to board. So when that dumbass finally landed the plane in Minneapolis, we only had 15 minutes left of our layover there. You better believe all of us ran like ****ing hell to get to our gate. We just BARELY made it there in time. Wouldn't have happened if we had actually left Detroit ON TIME! :cuss: Needless to say, I was NOT a happy camper. I traveled for a total of about 15 hours that day and all I wanted to do was go home to my bed. swedeace 07-29-2005, 01:11 AM Really short layovers kind of suck. I think I had a 30 minute layover in Denver, which is the biggest airport in the U.S. I had to run like hell to get to my new plane. I had the same thing happen to me at the Houston International Airport last summer. Getting off the international plane, going through customs (because we had just come from Amsterdam) and then running through many halls (felt like it!) to catch the last plane really had my adrenaline going. I was dead tired but my mom had to haul so quickly. It was night time and we were NOT in the mood to wait for another plane. Oy... it was rough... I know the feeling... I figured I'd be faster than one of those little carts that they drive around in the airport where a lucky select few get to ride, but about half way there, one goes flying by me with passengers from my first flight. Lucky bastids. Dutabi84 07-29-2005, 01:19 AM I had the same thing happen to me at the Houston International Airport last summer. Hehe, it feels weird jumping on a plane all sweaty and out of breath. It's like something you'd see out of a movie. PZelda 07-29-2005, 01:19 AM 15 minutes? I wanted to ride on one of the carts. :( swedeace 07-29-2005, 02:33 AM Hehe, it feels weird jumping on a plane all sweaty and out of breath. It's like something you'd see out of a movie. I know! It really is. I remember my mom and I sitting next to these people who were calmly sitting down. We were just fanning our sweaty selves, but the other people were probably thinking, "Peeuuu!!" |
