There is also a Bath, MI. The town gained notoriety in the 1920's when it became the site of a school bombing. Several Elementary School age children and a few teachers were killed in the attack. I believe it was the largest bombing this country had ever seen up until Okalahoma City.

swedeace 07-17-2005, 05:25 PM Speaking about the cuss word-sounding cities...what about "Phuket?"
It is pronounced as "Poo-ket," but the phonetics of the spelling makes it seem like it is supposed to be pronouced as the cuss word "F it." This one confused me when I first read it!

Not too many referneces to Islip or it's "suburbs" like East Islip, Central Islip, West Islip, or Islip Terrace out there, but and obscure song called "Tarantula" by Dogbowl & Kramer does mention Central Islip in the second verse.
Hicksville, NY
Dix Hills, NY
Yaphank, NY
I keep thinking there are other "Hicksville's" out there, and I'm sure there are other "Dix Hills'" out there as well, but Yaphank is one of a kind.
