View Full Version : Poll about police officers
How have police officers been to you when they pulled you over? The two times my dad was
pulled over in Saint Charles, our city's finest were polite and models of professionalism.
vienna waits 07-15-2005, 08:58 PM When I had my wreck they were really nice but when I was a kid this one pulled my dad over for a headlight being out and he was an ass and accused him of drunk driving. They're all different so I'm not going to vote and generalize them as one extreme or another.
AllIWantIsYourClutch 07-15-2005, 09:00 PM The only time I dealt with a police officer was when I got in my car accident. He didnt really say much.
Rhiannon 07-15-2005, 09:07 PM i vote both
robyrob 07-15-2005, 09:14 PM they always seemed perfectly polite whenever they threw me onto the hood of my car for absolutely no reason.
Tuesday Weld 07-15-2005, 09:24 PM As with all groups of people, there are nice ones and rude ones.
Mr. Television 07-15-2005, 10:07 PM As with all groups of people, there are nice ones and rude ones.
and we have some rude ones around here.
Hollow 07-15-2005, 10:10 PM my dad got pulled over the other day because the little sticker on the license plate fell off (it had been placed over the june 05 one so he was driving with an expired tag without knowing it) and the officer was really nice and shook his hand. a few years ago he got pulled over for passing in a no passing zone and he was saying "sorry we were just coming home from phoenix, my daughter was in the state spelling bee" and the officer asked him how i did in the spelling bee while he was writing the ticket. lolllz.
so all the ones i've seen are nice.
rusyd 07-15-2005, 10:34 PM Depends on the situation and the officer. I vote both.
TripperFan 07-15-2005, 10:42 PM I've always shown them respect and have received it back. You just don't argue with cops - its not worth it.
I can't choose one side or the other as I'm sure there are some of both. As a youth, my brother was beaten by a cop (around 1968), but that's only one cop out of thousands.
Rachel3118 07-15-2005, 10:55 PM I would say it depends on experience. Most cops are good and try to help people but there are some who take advantage of the position. It's annoying how they always seem to catch those going slightly over the speed limit but they don't get people going extremly fast.
Miss Golden 07-15-2005, 11:36 PM When I got pulled over I was shirtless and the cop said that anyone my size should always cover up.
marmalade 07-15-2005, 11:36 PM Both. My family has had both good and bad experiences with the police around here.
EmoJoe 07-15-2005, 11:59 PM Most of them are nice

:eek2:
Karen* 07-16-2005, 12:56 AM Some are cool, but I know one dude who was being a bitch to my dad...
TheHappyBurgerMeister 07-16-2005, 01:37 AM I never actually personally was involved with a police officer. Where I work though, they always have to have police officers on duty, because of so many drunks and unruly people. In the last few years especially Milwaukee police doesn't exactly have the best reputation. There have been several police brutality stories of off duty police officers. So, here it's kind of hard to see that not ALL of them are like that- makes the good officers look bad. It's kind of sad they're like that.
*MIBabe03* 07-16-2005, 10:14 AM I've never been pulled over by one, so I don't know.

he probably just wanted to make sure that you didn't get a sunburn or skin cancer

So true.
My mom got pulled over like, a month or so ago, and the cop was nice. But there are ones I've run into that are total jerks. It's like, if you don't like your job, find another one.
Dude111 04-08-2026, 10:30 AM I just saw some the other day and they were quite nice to me..
But I guess I understand why they are mean now.. Most ppl they deal with are mean so they cant let someone take avantage of them...
