:lol: It does make you wonder where these towns get their names from. I always though Orangeville came from the Orangemen or Orange Lodge (a bunch of Irish protestants who were hellbent agains the catholics). Turns out it's because it was originally settled by a guy named Orange. (Doesn't take a rocket scientist there eh?).
The one I like is "Newtonville" Ontario - out by Kingston/Belleville. It's like Caledon Village (where I am) - you blink and you've passed it!

You'll find the ChitChat board the best (no offense to other boards). It gets the most action. I usually cruise it and "Today's Active Threads" - that's where the action is baby!!

Which reminds me, you can't be a member without voting for the Streamlined version of the new ChitChat logo - see sticky at the top of the ChitChat board. ( however, my Nick is Japanese < Been using it forever online ) I don't speak with an accent though, seeing as i was born and raised in Ont ( perfectly billingual { And a smattering of Japanese } :) )

As for my Avatar, I know what i want to use, but have no idea how to put it up :confused:

Cool - what made you pick up some Japanese. I basically only know "Hi" (don't know how its spelled tho). A friend of mine studied Japanese.

Cool - I always had wished I had some native aboriginal in me - I love the culture and history and go nuts on stuff when I'm up in Rama. :)

My Flashy Avatar is a time exposure pic I took of bridge #13 of the Welland Canal, known locally as the Main Street bridge, amazingly, there's a few insane people who'd like to see this wonderful landmark ( since 1930 ) come down, and replace it with a non-descript bridge you could see anywhere..but I digress...anyway, at the time, the city was lighting the bridge at night ( Thx to a cheapskate mayor or 2 , they dont anymore ) and itook my camera and tripod and cliked the shutter for i believe 24 secs...that was the result...the full version ( i had to cut 80% of the pic to fit the avatar rules ) is twice as spectacular.....maybe ill post it someday, if you all ask nicely :P
PS ironically, while bridge 13 survives to this day, bridge 14 was struck by a ship in 1974 and was destroyed...a few years ago, another ship struck bridge #15 , the bridge is fine, but the ship caught fire and was destroyed!! unlucky 13? :confused:

Yeah funny story about that pic....I made a copy as a present for my aunt and uncle one Xmas...One of their daughters is married to a pro photographer, it so happens he took a pic of the exact same subject at virtually the same vantage point that i did ....My uncle told me he had to admit that MINE was better!!! ( i saw his, mine was!!! :lol: )

I picked up a lot of Japanese watching anime in the orig language ( subtitled ) ,I also have a few Japanese friends online who giveme hints, now and then..and its Konnichiwa!

You're right - the families DO abuse that - I've seen it a lot. Whether they have the person in their car or not.
Back in the late 80s, my RA got so bad that they issued a permit for me. Even then, I felt guilty using it. It was extremely difficult and painful for me to walk, but I kept thinking if I'm like that, then there are people worse off than me (especially in bad weather), so I would look for another spot, still close, but not a HPZ one and leave it open for them. As soon as I could, I stopped using it. They even sent me a renewal form with my plate renewal this year but I just threw it out.

My mom had to use handicapped parking because she broke her leg. That was the only time she used it though, once her leg was better she stopped. She said after the experience of being on crutches and not being able to walk or do things that she normally could do, she really felt for handicapped people. It also made her more grateful for the things she could do.

You can say that again!! I am so thankful I went into a remission with my RA. It really sucked because I was in my twenties but people look at you like you're faking it or something because so many still think its an "old age" disease.
Doesn't help the lovelife either when you see a cute guy in a car next to you and you're checking each other out at a light and then he spots the permit on the dashboard. I might as well had a sign saying "Leper" instead! :rolleyes:

Actually you see TO much clearer on the orig pic...but, my scanner gave me a choice , either a pic so small you couldnt see anything, or one so large, that TO is kind of misty looking...i chose the latter over the former ( At least you CAN see it and yes, the tower is very visible :) )

Best I could do is 201 X 109 - otherwise it'll warp it to go down to 40 I think. Hope it helps. If not, maybe someone else has better software that is capable of 200 X 40.

I never thought I was going to see Vicki Lawrence for the third time...but I am. :cheer: I've seen her every year since 2003, so after this one I'm shooting for 2006. Wish me luck :D I wish I could meet the rest of the cast, tho. When I went to see her in '04, it was at a huge Scandinavian festival. They gave me a sheet of paper before her show with potential candidates to perform at next year's festival (next year -- now this year). Harvey Korman & Tim Conway were on that list. They didn't get chosen, though. :( And I'd give both my legs to meet Carol Burnett. :D

Yeah, my car's a 97. It doesn't have anything wrong with it, but I would appreciate it if people would stop running into it. My car has been hit on both sides, the back, and the front. It also had a basketball kicked into the windshield.
