View Full Version : Macroeconomics Help.....Anyone?
swedeace 07-02-2005, 01:28 AM Hate to bother anyone, but is there anyone who understands Macroeconomics or is, at least, majoring in it? I ask because I feel like I need to read a "Macroeconomics for Dummies" book about the course. I just DO NOT understand most of the terminology. I am lost! Other students in my class get it like that.... and I'm still struggling... I don't want to struggle or fall behind, so anyone....??? Help??/  :(
vienna waits 07-02-2005, 01:33 AM I'm not studying it.. but I took Econ last semester in high school.
What terms do you not understand?
Sara Micelli 07-02-2005, 04:23 AM What terms are confusing you?
swedeace 07-03-2005, 02:21 AM Thanks, guys!!
I feel like such a dummy because they are the most simplest terms such as aggregate, net export spending, GDP, expenditures....these kinds...
I also need help with the formulas and the order of the formulas. Like, if I am calculating the multiplier, what order of formulas do I follow? It's just... so... difficult for me... Everyone else in the class is getting it quickly, and I am still trying to figure it out. So frustrating...
swedeace 07-06-2005, 09:20 PM Awww.... :(
TripperFan 07-06-2005, 10:54 PM I HATED economics! Just the word gives me the chills!
I wonder if Quench would be the one to ask - she's SO's mathematical wizard - she might have taken that as well. Maybe try PMing her? Just a thought. ;)

Thanks for your list! Then what is the difference between Aggregate supply and demand and regular supply and demand? Are the curves really all that different?
Cathie: What is Quench's username? Is that Quencherita? I want to make sure so I don't send a PM to the wrong person.

Yup - Quencherita is it!! I'm sure she'll be able to help you out - she's a friggin' genius! ;)
Sara Micelli 07-07-2005, 02:09 PM Aggregate demand is the total demand for goods and services produced in the economy over a specific period of time. It's the demand for the GDP.
Cathie: Quench is definitely a very smart girl.

I'm 44 and the Kid's my hero!! I wouldn't mind some tutoring from her even - you lose so much of what you learn in school! You guys could run rings around me now!
You're no slouch yourself Sara! ;)

swedeace 07-11-2005, 08:50 PM I want to thank you all for your help. I have just come to a realization that it is inevitable that I am going to have to retake this Macroeconomics class in the Fall. We only have four weeks left, and I just do not feel I can do well in that timeframe. I got a 68% on my first exam (out of two and the upcoming final exam) and each one is 25% of the total class grade! The remaining 25% is based on homework, quizzes, and group projects. I'm scared, but at the same time, I *think* it MIGHT work out. Who knows? :( Well, I don't know if I should strive and continue or just take it easy and just retake it. I think retaking might be wiser.
