It's a classic. There is some debate about the truth of the meaning of the song. The writer denies it being about the death of Buddy Holly, etc. - he says its more a tribute to his late father, but either way, it does have a very deep meaning.

I always liked it. I remember doing a play around it in grade 6 music class.

It's really not that big of a deal if you like a song or not, it's your own taste. Unless this is a kidding around thread.
