I think everyone should be able to change their username by themselves instead of TJ doing it. I don't feel compfortable bugging him every few months asking for a username change. He already seems busy enough.

If everybody could change the names by themselves nobody would know who anybody was. They'd be doing it all the time.

I like it like this because their is some stability.

I assure you, there's a stack of reasons a mile high why the system is set the way it is, post #2 being at the top of the list.

Just remember, you don't necessarily have to bug TJ - I'm also fully authorized to perform screenname changes.

I've only had to do that once really.....sometimes I just get tired of the same username after a while.

I didn't mean to be rude... what bothers me is half the time I have trouble telling who some of you are who change your name based on Idol contestants.

And if you can't tell who people are, that person should be smart enough to make a post just to say "Hey, I changed my user name from this to that!" People who care will give us the heads up, know what I mean? ;)

Seriously, i dont get waht the big deal is? If someone wants to change their username...let them. Im sure they'll put their former username in their sig.

Yeah, I always put my old usernames in my signature.

Oh yeah, another thing: If we make a request for a username change and that change has already been made, can an admin or moderator PM us or something letting us know that? It makes us easier when we try to log in the first time. :D

I think people should be able to change their username. It should be their choice. I don't think most people would chage it that often so it wouldn't get that confusing.
