I thought I had heard that George Lucus was not going to make the next 3 Star Wars movies that follow 4, 5, and 6. Is this correct? And if so does anyone have any idea what his plans were for the story line?

View Full Version : Hey Star Wars Fans Bobby F. 06-07-2005, 06:59 PM I thought I had heard that George Lucus was not going to make the next 3 Star Wars movies that follow 4, 5, and 6. Is this correct? And if so does anyone have any idea what his plans were for the story line? TJL 06-07-2005, 07:03 PM I do believe that Episode III is the last Star Wars movie we will see from Mr. Lucas. Brian Damage 06-07-2005, 10:56 PM There are two TV series in the works. Max Whittaker 06-08-2005, 01:01 AM I've heard conflicting reports. I've heard Lucas has said that he does want to do another three movies and then I heard he said he has no intention of doing more movies. Then I heard something about a television series that takes place after the events of Revenge of the Sith... I think that might be the best idea, as long as it's not cartoon. My head's still spinning from that abomination "Clone Wars" on Cartoon Network. A live action series could be fun. And the real plus is Lucas will probably have to hire extra help for the story. There will also be less budget so the writters will have to focus more on character development and interaction. Perfect. That way there's less chance of him screwing up the timeline like he did in episode III. Yes, I am still bitter over that. It's hard to tell what might happen. But as the wise Yoda once said, "Always in motion is the future." We will just wait and see. Bobby F. 06-08-2005, 05:03 PM I've heard conflicting reports. I always thought that another 3 movies(7,8,9) would be great now because it's been 20+ years since the originals came out and with the actors aging it would be interesting to see how they would fit into new movies. I explained my frustration on this thread http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?t=140971 I agree that in theory, another three movies would be wonderful. I would like to see Luke in action again. But I'd rather not have Lucas saturate us again with special effects and neglect the acting and character interation. If he can do it, I would watch it. I can't hope for much, at this point. And because of that chemistry, I would like to see them reunited again. I'm just not sure if I trust Lucas with the task. *MIBabe03* 06-09-2005, 09:08 AM I think they should just stop with the Star Wars thing. Really. TJL 06-09-2005, 05:55 PM I think they should just stop with the Star Wars thing. Really. No way! I hope the books, comics and T.V. series keep coming. Who knows? Maybe this Star Wars live action series they've been talking about will spawn a series of shows like Star Trek. Brian, if you have any more information, I'd love to hear some. Fleet 06-11-2005, 12:13 AM It would be interesting to see Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher playing their roles 30 years after they left off. Who knows... it's possible that may happen someday but probably not before 2010. He seemed to be happy when he was finished with the trilogy. Fleet 06-11-2005, 01:00 AM Mark and Carrie might be willing but I don't think Harrison Ford would. He might if he doesn't get a hit movie soon. Fleet 06-11-2005, 01:38 AM He might if he doesn't get a hit movie soon. Yeah, he hasn't had one for a while. Anyway, it would be great to see all three of them in their "Star Wars" roles again. Many people would want to see them in their old roles. But it would take years to develop a script worthwhile of the "Star Wars" saga. It's hard to believe that episode 3 is the last we'll ever see! TJL 06-11-2005, 10:57 AM Anyway, it would be great to see all three of them in their "Star Wars" roles again. I doubt it will ever happen though. It could be called "Episode VI and 1/2, Return of the 1970s Actors." :D Fleet 06-15-2005, 12:51 AM Hey, TJL... here's a trivia question for you: How tall is Darth Vader (in costume). (I don't know the answer; I'm just curious.) :) I will guess 7 feet. TJL 06-15-2005, 05:02 AM Hey, TJL... here's a trivia question for you: How tall is Darth Vader (in costume). (I don't know the answer; I'm just curious.) :) I will guess 7 feet. Most Star Wars books and related literature have said that Darth Vader was a towering 2 meters tall. David Prowse, the bodybuilder who wore the Vader costume in episodes 4-6 is 6'7" tall. I really don't know why they descibed Vader as a foot taller in print. A bit of new trivia, Hayden Christiansen wore a new Vader costume for the last few minutes of Episode III, which was custom made for him, but since he's five inches shorter than David Prowse, a few camera tricks were used to make him appear taller. barwars 06-15-2005, 08:17 AM Wouldn't 2 meters be 6 and 1/2 feet tall?? A meter is roughly 39 inches. Fleet 06-15-2005, 04:20 PM Most Star Wars books and related literature have said that Darth Vader was a towering 2 meters tall. They describe Vader as 7'7"? Interesting about the Hayden trivia. When I saw the movie, I did wonder how they would make him look as tall as the "other" Vader! TJL 06-15-2005, 04:35 PM Wouldn't 2 meters be 6 and 1/2 feet tall?? A meter is roughly 39 inches. You're probably right, They never got around to teachng us the metric system in school. TripperFan 06-15-2005, 04:40 PM Yup - having the metric system crammed down our throats in the 70s, we learned that 1m = 39.37 inches, therefore, 2 metres is 6.561 feet. He'd be 6'6" or so. The real important size is that of his feet!! ;) |
