There have been a lot of cases updated since the show went out of production in 2002. In fact, I have been posting messages about articles I discovered online concerning developments in various cases we saw on UM. As for your second question, a show like UM can't be remade, only revived. Even though Lifetime continues to air reruns, the network doesn't appear to be interested in re-starting the show. And if you haven't heard any news about plans to revive the show, it is highly probable that there are no such plans to do so in the foreseeable future. george ramos 06-01-2005, 10:06 AM The only updates I know are that Larry Race was released from prison. Randolph Dial and Jesse James Hollywood were captured. Randolph Dial's alleged hostage Bobbie Parker was found alive and returned to her family. SitcomsAreTheWay 06-05-2005, 05:02 PM Another update involved either the guitarist or the drummer of the rock group Iron Butterfly. His remains were found in a van at the bottom of a canyon. Kane 06-05-2005, 08:37 PM Another update involved either the guitarist or the drummer of the rock group Iron Butterfly. His remains were found in a van at the bottom of a canyon. Actually, his remains were found in 1999, three years before UM permanently ceased production. By the way, the man's name was Philip "Taylor" Kramer. He was Iron Butterfly's bass player. I found a link on Kramer, for those who are interested. http://elvispelvis.com/philipkramer.htm crystaldawn 06-05-2005, 08:45 PM Also Pat Carlton has been found safe after 30+ years of being missing. She was the lady who had a brain aneurysm and after surgery developed amnesia and ran off several times. I wish I could find out more details but am glad that her sister has finally been reunited with her. I hadn't seen that case until some time after that. Zero 06-06-2005, 02:16 PM Another update involved either the guitarist or the drummer of the rock group Iron Butterfly. His remains were found in a van at the bottom of a canyon. You know, I always thought his death was more than just an accident. I still do! DarkDante 06-06-2005, 03:35 PM You know, I always thought his death was more than just an accident. I still do! Care to elaborate on your theory? - I've always felt that Kramer's death was a suicide. Having dealt with a number of family members with bi-polar disorder I have little doubt in my mind that Taylor Kramer based on the way he was portrayed in the segment was a victim of manic episodes. The part where he is skipping through the woods saying that God had annoited him is scary. People who suffer from this disorder seem to exibit euphoric emotional highs like the one that Kramer was expereincing there coupled with very scary depressive lows which can lead to mental breakdowns/panic attacks/suicide and all sorts of horrible things. I think that on the day he died Taylor Kramer suffered a breakdown of some sort which winded up in him taking his own life. Thats just my feeling given how Kramer was portrayed in the segment. Later. Kane 06-06-2005, 06:43 PM Well, my mistake. I hadn't seen that case until some time after that. That's okay. In any case, please pardon me for correcting you. :) SitcomsAreTheWay 06-08-2005, 12:02 PM That's okay. In any case, please pardon me for correcting you. :) Don't worry Kane, it's not a problem. If you hadn't displayed the correction, I would've continued to believe that the update had premiered at the time I first saw it. :) SitcomsAreTheWay 06-08-2005, 12:46 PM You know, I always thought his death was more than just an accident. I still do! Honestly, I don't know what to think because I STILL have ZERO knowledge regarding the circumstance(s) in which truly surrounds his death. It could either be this or it could be that and we can draw our own conclusions but until some kind of confirmed information is displayed, the wonder will remain. crystaldawn 06-08-2005, 01:12 PM Yes I agree with DarkDante that Kramer killed himself. He called a 911 operator and told her he was going to commit suicide although it is strange if he wandered around for days before doing so (his wife claims he called her several days after he went missing). That sleep deprivation can really affect you mentally and obviously Taylor Kramer wasn't thinking clearly at the time I believe he ended his life. Ninjaman 06-16-2005, 06:56 PM I've heard that Jill Behrman's remains have been found. I think this happened after the show stopped making new episodes. I'm sure there are others. I also remember that Molly Bish's remains have been found. I know there have been more. Could anyone elaborate more about the "Pat" woman who had a brain aneuryism and was found safe? If that's the segment that I'm thinking of, then I think it was updated on UM. crystaldawn 06-17-2005, 01:23 PM The story about Patricia Carlton. Her sister found her children unattended one day and Pat unconscious on her bed. They rushed her to the hospital where she had emergency brain surgery. When she woke up she had total amnesia and had to relearn even the most basic tasks. She soon remarried Troy Carlton and wandered off several times but the last time was never seen again. I don't remember UM ever updating it but would be great if they would. As far as updates, todays show about FL conv. store disappearances had one. I watched a "Forensic Files" once about Donna Callahan, one of the clerks profiled today. Her body was eventually found and two brothers were convicted of her murder. However, the initial mistake is understandable, since both Body of Evidence and FF are shown on Court TV. ;) U.M. Fanatic 06-17-2005, 07:10 PM The story about Patricia Carlton. Did one of the two brothers look like the guy who was working the counter after Donna disappeared? They didn't say anything on the show about the brothers being a suspect in the other FL conv. store disappearances. Its possible the other disappearances were all related and Donna Callahan's wasn't. It just coincidental because she had the same profession as the others. U.M. Thanks for the update, Crystaldawn! crystaldawn 06-18-2005, 01:25 PM Thanks, well I'm glad to be able to update at least some of these cases. I think I posted this earlier but since its being discussed again police actually searched the area where Donna Callahan was found in hopes of possibly finding Pamela Ray. If you recall Ray was the one who disappeared in the parking lot of a FL hotel and her children were found unharmed in her car. As far as I know they didn't find anything. Here is the article: Police reopen case of Atlanta woman who disappeared at beach in 1992 Associated Press DEFUNIAK SPRINGS -- Police have reopened the case of an Atlanta woman who disappeared from a beachside motel parking lot in 1992. Authorities haven't said what prompted their renewed search for Pamela June Ray, 36, but officers using cadaver dogs have searched 400 acres of scrub and pine trees near DeFuniak Springs where the remains of another woman were uncovered four years ago. Ray's sister, Rhonda Bishop, has repeatedly said the case is similar to the 1989 disappearance of pregnant, 29-year-old Donna Callahan from a nearby convenience store. Two men are serving life sentences at a Florida prison in Callahan's murder, convicted after her body was recovered from the search site in 1996. Florida Department of Law Enforcement spokesperson Lisa Lagergren said some evidence has been gathered in the search area, but the material could just be animal remains. ''We've had a cadaver dog down there and he did hit on some spots of interest,'' Lagergren said. ''We did excavating and took some soil samples back for testing.'' Ray vanished in the wee morning hours of Aug. 12, 1992, after leaving her two young children, Brandi and Shayne, locked in a car with her keys and purse while waiting for a motel room to become available. |
