Grady assisted Lamont in selling junk while Fred was away instead of playing the "I'm Your new Daddy Role". Never understood why the producers felt a year 32 old needed a new Father-lol

Yes, that "daddy" sh*t Grady did got on my damn nerves. He over did it. He was more of of a daddy than Fred was (as far as helping around the house). I guess with Redd gone, they needed an older principal character to fill the void. I think Bubba would have been better.

Yep, Bubba could have partied with Lamont & Rollo, instead of being an annoying stick in the mud like Grady!

The episode that annoyed me the most was when Grady didn't let Lamont have female company.

The thing that annoyed me was that all of a sudden Grady was the most active and animated he'd ever been.

Most of the time he seemed on the edge of a nap.

Now he's SuperGrady.

But I kinda like those episodes, so I'm a bit in the minority here.

I disagree. Grady was hilarious. My mom prefered him to Fred. He was second to Fred IMO but I thought he carried the ball beautifully while Fred was "off in St. Louis".

Yeah I know, I was only able to find 2 eps of that short-lived spinoff. I would love to see the Grady eps when these Sanford and Son cast members made guest apperances

Rollo Guest starred on Grady
Esther, Woody and Bubba guest starred on Grady

I vaguely remember it from when it was on. Did Grady return to Sanford And Son when his show was cancelled?

The episode when Fred guest starred was funny. The other Grady Episode when Grady learns how to drive was OK. TV Guide Critic in 1976 loved the Grady episodes when Rollo guest starred and when Bubba, Esther, and Woody guest starred. I don't think those eps exist.

No not when Grady was on the air. That was from Dec of 1975 to March of 1976. When TV LAND celebrated Norman Lear's 80th birthday in 2002, it would have been nice if they aired a Grady episode with one of Sanford and Son cast members appearing.

i agree, but it wasnt popular enough i guess.

Speaking of grady, i have the booklet that comes with the Sanford and Son season 6 DVD set, and it says that Grady wasnt seen in the pubic eye until 1996, where he appeared on Conan show. Thats not true. In 1994, he appeared on Martin, and in 1988 or 89, he appeared on 227. And before that, he was on Full House as a character who couldnt hear.

OH, he also appeared on Family Matters too!

Sounds like a booklet with a lot of errors. Grady should be released now since all the seasons of S&S are on DVD

Yessssssss!!!!

They should release a combo of Grady and Sanford Arms titled "The Sanford & Son Spinoffs" and release all eps of Sanford(80-81). Yeah right, probably wishful thinking, oh well! ;)

The Spinoffs has to be the next step since all 6 seasons are out. All we can do is wait

In total, how many episodes would there be if there was a S & S spinoff collection?

JeffRuss1972

Well, TV.com says there were 12 eps of GRADY and 4 of SANFORD ARMS, so that'd be 16 episodes. They could have 8 on each disc and have a 2 disc set I guess. I would buy it out of curiosity and because they're so rare.

Yea . . . and some of these shows that they cancel so early are actually not too bad

I dont think Gloria was bad or 704 Hauser

It's still a Mystery why Gloria was cancelled since it finished #18. TV Guide Critic, Cleveland Amory, liked the spinoff "Grady" better than Sanford and Son when it premeired in December of 75
