View Full Version : Anybody here about a LIVE dog being dissected?
Ags2000 05-13-2005, 06:00 PM I was watching my news last night and one of the stories was about a teacher who disected A LIVE DOG INFRONT OF THE CLASS!!!! I didn't catch where it was and was trying to get more info on the story.
Apparently the teacher wanted his students to see how some system worked in a live dog so he disected it while it was still alive. He then made some plans (or already had the plan in place) to have the dog put to sleep.
HOW CRUEL CAN THIS GUY GET? Apparently there were several complaints to the principal or superintendant who sided with the teacher saying it was for educational purposes.
In my opinion, the teacher should be arrested for feloneous torture of an animal.
Anyway, just trying to find out where it happened because I want to write to the school district.
D
Mr. Television 05-13-2005, 06:06 PM This is sick. That teacher should have charges brought against him and he has no right teaching kids. That could scar them for life.
Hollow 05-13-2005, 06:15 PM that absolutely is animal cruelty. it must have caused too much hysteria in the classroom for the kids to learn anything from it.
there are times when PETA's pussiness can be useful.

Yes. You said it happened in Utah?
Kay Scarpetta 05-13-2005, 06:59 PM Hmph. Which further touches on the point I was trying to make in my "dissection" thread I made a few nights ago.
Whether alive or not, dog, frog or worm... it's still wrong.

article say:
"...took eight girls, aged 16 and 17, to a local veterinary clinic on Tuesday to watch abdominal dissection on a dog under general anesthetic. The lesson was aimed at teaching students about the digestive system."
OK, that explains A LOT more! I thought (and a lot of other people here) thought the guy actually had a live AWAKE dog in the classroom with him and was dissecting him.
Still, I don't think that it's right he took those kids to the vet and it's not teaching them anything.
Belair 05-15-2005, 02:50 AM HORRIBLE!!!!!
He should go to the electric chair for that.

Agreed but it still isn't right.
MsOrange 05-15-2005, 08:24 AM I still don't think it's right, no matter where it was done, to take a living animal, conscious or not, and cut it up for "educational purposes"
