Was FP nominated for any emmy awards? If not, do you guys think it should have been?

The only nomination it got was for electronic lighting. Will was nominated for a Golden Globe twice. I think the show and it's actors should have considered.

I think that it didn't get it's due come awards time. One actor I could've seen getting nominated was Joseph Marcell. I could see him getting many Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series nominations and maybe winning one.

It would have been nice if Alfonso Ribeiro was at least nominated once, but I guess the emmy awards don't like those kind of shows.

IMDB should know.

I looked. It was up for quite a few awards. The emmies aren't the be all and end all and they can be very picky and snobbish about what they choose to nominate.

The Golden Globes tend to be more open than the Emmys. even the Image awards haven't given shows the recognition they deserved, because they tend to have their favorites and give the awards them year after year. The Steve Harvey show won most of the awards for television until it went off and now Bernie Mac is going in the same direction. the good thing about the Image awards is that a lot of regular people vote.

You're right about the Image Awards. Steve Harvey, Monique, Bernie Mac... there is a lot of repetition. Jasmine Guy won 5 times for Different World. Who knows how many times Bill Cosby won. One thing about those awards that is odd is that they come out every year, rather than for tv seasons so some show that was cancelled can still win a whole year after it ended.

Bill Cosby and the Cosby Show only one the Image award once and other shows like 227 and Amen never got any nominations at all.

Is there a site that lists all the Image nominees? The info in imdb seems incomplete. I'm surprised Cosby Show didn't win more and that Amen and 227 were overlooked. 227 won an emmy and those shows are generally thought of as being better than something like the Parkers for which Monique won several times.

One curious thing they did was award the Sister Sister twins twice as a team as lead actress, once a year after the show had ended. I guess this was fair since one wasn't any better or worse than the other, but the thing about nominating shows by calendar year means that a show that only ran one season can win twice.

Generally those Image awards are even more predictable than the emmies. Whoever gets the most love in the black media is going to win.

Jaleel White as Steve Urkel won 4 out of 5 consecutive nominations.

Actually The Cosby Show won 5 Image Awards in total.

Bill Cosby won one.
Phylicia Rashad won one.
Keisha Knight Pullium won one.
Actor Roscoe Lee Browne won one for Guest Actor.
And the show itself won a Image Award for best comedy.

It's listed in IMDB.

But you are right, the Emmys, Golden Globes and Image Awards are biased towards their favorites.
