I thought it would be interesting to know how many of you tape UM and have your own collection of favorite stories?

I have tons of my favorites recorded.

Of course I tape, but I have to admit I got into the game late. It was only here recently that I got a TIVO, so while I am at work, I can watch and record later. :D

Used to tape off Lifetime quite a bit actually. Not so much these days since they are showing primarily "new" stuff.

I probably started recording original broadcasts around 1991 or so. Unfortunately, I just taped certain segments, and not entire episodes. I didn't start "seriously" taping whole shows until about '96 or so, but by that time the show sucked anyway.

I would give just about anything for tapes of those first few years, like 87-93. Original broadcasts of course.

Justin

PS - Please do not email or PM me to ask for episodes.

I started taping on Lifetime back in 1993. I stopped for a few years and resumed in 2000. It's interesting seeing the old commercials during the recordings, all these years later.

The tapes are in pretty decent shape, considering their age. I still watch them, as the ones I taped in the 90's are mainly 1987-1991 episodes, which we are lucky to get nowadays.

Ditto, from the previous post, in regards to episode trading, etc.

I have a few that are very old on tape from the original broadcasts, and when I watch them I end up watching the commercials as well since they're history as well.

I have 30 VHS tapes filled with UM. It's taken me several years to get to this point. I have segments from all of the seasons, first to the last season. I call it my UM library. I guard those tapes with my life!

I know what you mean UMfan77. If there was ever a fire, they'd be the second things I'd save, after I got my little girls out first of course.

Are you interested in tape trading? There's a few old ones I'm looking for. I also have about 500 stories on tape if there are any in particular you are looking for. Email or pm me if you're interested in possibly trading.

I have lots of episodes scattered across tapes, some labeled and some not. Thanks to Lifetimese crappy scheduling/broadcasting order, I don't have alot of my favorite episodes on tape because they never seem to get aired (while episodes i dont care for get aired constantly).

Yeah, but I really don't have that much on tape. Only four stories in fact. Carlos Berdaja rapes kills his co-worker, Blair Adams dies far from home, Matt Flores is killed at work, And kidnapping of Angela Hammond.

I am hoping to catch these stories, I just need to get up in time to see if they are going to be aired(I have Direct TV and not cable so I get UM at 9 and 10 am, three hours before the cable times).

David Hurley is shot by a stranger on a local forested road
Woman named Irene kidnapped from her nightshift gas station job and later found dead
Rebecca Young gets killed in a cornfield as a hunter with poor English looks on and later makes an inarticulate 911 call
Norman Ladner dies sometime during a hunting trip
Tina Roech sees eletrical malfuctions and objects move on their own
Ted Losef is killed by hitmen supposedly hired by his ex-wife
Theraputic Touch(Miracle boxset not worth buying for this one story)
Bashir the former Beruit prisoner is stalked and harrassed
Tammy Leppert goes missing
Girl's body found in back room of her workplace by an alert security guard
Woman survives car bomb that was meant for her Navy Captain husband, most likely as retaliation for his involvement in the accidental downing of a civilian Plane in the mid-east
Man in Texas fakes his death using a car fire, as a means to elude both authorities and the mob.

I wish Lifetime would put the details on the show schedule. Anyone have thse episodes or hoping to catch and tape them? Just curious.

Yes, I would also like to tape the story of Irene the store clerk who was abducted and later found dead.

I do have some of those you asked about, David Hurley, Rebecca Young, Norman Ladner, Tami Leppert. The girls body who was found in the store where she worked by a security guard was I assume Tracy Kirkpatrick and I also have that one. I'm not sure which one you're talking about with the man who faked his own death to avoid the mob. Do you have a name on him?

Actually no I don't. I think his first name was Ed, and his last name was something like Davis or Davers but I can't swear to it. I just know that he was an investor who went bankrupt in 1984 and set the car fire sometime in 1988.

That was Ed Baker...the episode description points out that the car was a Jaguar. Crystaldawn you have that story on one of the tapes I gave you. ;)

I tivo the show everyday. I have some episodes on dvds that I've recorded from the tivo. Since it comes on twice a day, I don't feel the need to tivo many new episodes since they all seem to air a lot or they're just not as interesting as the old ones. How can you make a new segment anything as remotely interesting as "The Dale"

I recorded this one about a month or two ago, when Lifetime was showing the old episodes. I still get a good chuckle out of it.

Could someone fill me in on what "The Dale" is? I don't really know what segment that is. Thanks.

I have about 120 or so of my favorite segments on tape. There's still a few I would like to add like the murder of the 3 ATV riders in Tennessee (there was a special on this case on A&E that I would also like to see), the naval officers wife's van being bombed, and a few others.

Hey, to all of you who tape UM, I was wondering if someone would be able to make me a compilation tape of a few cases from UM. The cases I'm really interested in being on the tape would include Blair Adams, the Whackers, and Tim Molnar. I'd be willing to pay if someone did that for me. Anyone interested? Either respond here or send me a PM.

I usually only tape the show in the summer when I don't have school. This summer coming up I am going to tape only old episodes, I mean if Lifetime will even show any. I'm just so sick and tired of the new ones, blah. puke:

I tape the openings(most of the time), and then if it's an episode I already have or don't care to see, I just stop it.

Unfortunately my schedule dosen't permit me to record any but I would love to get ahold of the original NBC airings and am willing to pay for them.

I do tape specific segments, though not usually whole episodes. This morning I got another story that I'd been waiting to see, the killing of Rebecca Young in a south Florida sugar cane field, not a cornfield like I origially thought. What were the stories that were on yesterday 5/24? Did I miss anything good? I know that before that day they showed a special on psychics and another on mysteries of the afterlife.

crystaldawn

Not really. They showed the special "Mysteries of Alien Beings" for the first hour and the second hour had the A.J. Breaux and Jesslyn Rich story on which are both pretty good.

Are those the only ones they had on for the secnd hour? I am not familiar with either of those stories. What are they about?

Well the Jesilyn Rich case is on the DVD where it is labelled "Womens Prison Killing" or something - It's the story of the murder of a prison guard and the subsequent murder of an inmate who said she had information on the case. Both deaths were believed linked to drugs inside the prison.

The case of A.J. Brough is a bit stranger - It's a case of a man who had successfully battled alcoholisim only to turn up missing. Some think he had a relaspe of his addictions and this might have lead to his death via a car accident or something. In fact someone did write a note to the police that A.J. had a few too many and accidently shot himself in the process and some people rolled his body in the lake. A.J's body was never found and there were a number of mysterious sightings of him after he was reported missing including A.J. being driven around and out of town in a red sports car by three unidentified men leading to suspicion that A.J. might have been abducted. A lot of people who did come in contact with A.J. post disappearance say he was disorientated and at least one said he smelled of booze. Draw your own conclusions but there is no real obvious reason why someone would abduct A.J. as he had no known enemies but is hard to believe that a man who battled so hard to overcome his addictions would suddenly suffer a relaspe and then vanish.

Strange.

Later.

Yes I did, with Lifetime reruns in the early 2000's, which I have plenty of! Unfortunately those tapes of mine got flooded by Hurricane/Superstorm Sandy in late 2012. BUT I was able to get all but a few of them cleaned, and converted onto DVD, which I was then able to share them (along with other things I had on VHS) to the world as a result, and ended up being the best thing to ever happen to me as a result! There's even a channel in my area which has Unsolved Mysteries on 24/7 too!

Anyone have in their Unsolved Mysteries collection the segments of Nyleen Marshall,Bill Rundle,Kari Lynn Nixon,Kristi Krebs,Dale Kerstetter,Patricia Carlton, Trenchcoat Robbers, segments(or any other I didn't mention) with the Lifetime update at the end(blue background, update typed out, creepy theme music playing)?

Or record Lifetime reruns from 1997-2006?
