I know noone can do anything about this, but I just have to say it: I have a very good, very dear friend who lives 800 miles away :crying: :crying: and she smokes; and I wish she'd stop!!

(to be fair; though; she IS trying to; and she only does it occasionally) :)

I wish my dad would stop smoking. He keeps saying he's trying to cut back, but I would like him try to stop cold turkey. Smoking is a really bad habit. And, smoking is so bad for people's health, too.

Smoking is nasty.

I despise smoking. I usually just keep my mouth shut about it though because smokers are extremely stubborn.

My granma used to smoke when she was alive. I remember when I was about 4, I was always telling her to quit :lol:

It hasn't been long since I did, but nonetheless, I'm doing good so far. I am trying to find other ways to release stress.

i don't think smokers are stubborn. all the smokers i know really wish they could quit and it doesn't seem like they really like smoking at all. they just are addicted and can't help themselves.

I know I know. When you are young one thinks one is immortal but smoking will get you eventually! QUIT! :eek:Cancer and Enphysema is very painful! I hope that I quit smoking in time but time will tell......................Both of my kids smoke (because of me, I expect) :( I can only hope and pray that they will quit very very soon!

I have a friend who smokes...which sucks, because I HATE SMOKE. I also thought he'd quit. :(

my brother smokes, Ive smoked cigars before and sometimes after I drink I smoke cloves...but this is hardly ever

I quit smoking in July 2004, trust me if I can quit anybody can; I am very proud to say that it has been 9 months without a cigarette! I even attend concerts in casinos where patrons can smoke and I am still not tempted to light up. I also smoked since the age of 15 till 34..so that is a total of 19 years and I smoked a pack a day. Smoking is gross and it makes you look gross!

I agree - its hardly a "habit"!!! That's biting your nails, picking your nose or whatever. Smoking is an ADDICTION that isn't easily stopped once started so don't be downplaying it. Nicotine is the most addictive substance on earth - more so than smack or coke.

And I highly resent the remark from Idol Fanatic saying that "all smokers are extremely stubborn". Obviously comes from somebody who's never had the nightmare of being addicted to anything. That was an extremely ignorant statement. To me, its on the level of saying that all blacks are ghetto criminals.

I admire anybody who can quit for good!
