I dont get offended by bad language,it really doesn't bother me.What bothers me more is when people go 'Oh Gosh, what terrible language' because its just words, and to me,thats all they are going to be.
I swear ALOT.My friends are beginning to hate me for it ;) I just cant stop! I blame my Dad,he swears like a sailor and its rubbed off on me,and being a girl,I should tone it down, but I dont even realise I am saying it now.I say sh*t ALL THE TIME,and the f word comes out just as frequently to my friend's annoyance.

Oh, I swear way too much, especially when I'm pissed about something. The expletives fly!! I've had people use the term 'potty mouth' about me. I can remember my mom saying 's***' all the time when I was a kid. I don't think that had anything to do with it though.

I don't have a problem with people swearing from time to time; even I do it at times but don't overdue it either. Some people for example: my b/f 's friend; every second or third word that comes out of his mouth is the "F" word.

I have no problem with swearing and probably swear too much myself, but when its done in the right company. I hate it when people use strong profanity in front of children or older people (what ever happened to respecting our elders)!

Also, no real problem with the "f" word, but I really hate the "c" word - I think most women do.

I swear way too much. I don't find it offensive, I find it hilarious. Not because I'm an immature teenager, but I've heard my mom or myself or whatever constantly called names so much that it doesn't even phase me anymore. I'm the type to turn stress in laughter, so that's why I find it funny.

Yes, I am one of those who finds it offensive. It's considered rude (or, it used to be in the '50s- back then you would never hear ladies swearing like sailors).
Besides, as rock singer Lou Christie once said, It's completely unnecessary.

"Swearing is just the sign of a small mind."

Yup...my mom despises that word. I don't use it and I'll admit, I get kinda weirded out when other people do.

Other than that, I swear, especially when I'm aggrivated. The computer knows what I mean! ;)

Though if I hear someone swear at work, I'm all like, "That was unnecessary." I guess I just think you shouldn't swear at work for some reason.

:) swearing more power than any appropriate words. it's NOT unnecessary, as people say.

it doesn't stand out to me at all when i hear bad words. i hear them all on tv, in music, at school, at home, in public, and online on a regular basis. i only refrain from swearing in formal situations.

I'm a woman and if there's one word I cannot stand, it's the "c" word.

As for swearing, I'll curse like a sailor. Not out in public or anything, but yeah I tend to have a dirty mouth. :\

I never say the awful "C " word.My Dad had a habit of calling people by that word, and it was really nasty.I say the f word alot, and thats it.

Uses of the F Word
Perhaps one of the most interesting and colorful words in the English language today is the word "****." It is the magical word which, just by its sound can describe pain, pleasure, love, and hate.

In language , "****" falls into many Grammatical categories.

It can be used as a verb both transitive (John ****ed Mary) and intransitive (Mary was ****ed by John).

It can be an action verb (John really gives a ****), a passive verb (Mary really doesn't give a ****), and adverb (Mary is ****ing interested in John), or as a noun (Mary is a terrific ****).

It can also be used as an interjection (****! I'm late for my date with Mary).

It can even be used as a conjunction (Mary is easy, **** she's also stupid).

As you can see there are very few words with the overall versatility of the word ****.

Aside from its sexual connotations, this word can be used to describe many situations:

1)Greetings.........."How the **** are ya?"

2)Fraud.............."I got ****ed by the car dealer,"

3)Resignation........"Oh, **** it!"

4)Trouble............"I guess I'm ****ed now,"

5)Agression.........."**** YOU!"

6)Disgust............"**** me."

7) Confusion........." What the ****....?"

8)Displeasure........"****ing **** man..."

9)Lost..............."where the **** are we?"

10)Disbelief........."UN****INGBELIEVABLE!!"

11)Retaliation......."Up your ****ing ass!"

12)Apathy............"Who really gives a ****?"

13)Suspicion........."Who the **** are you?"

14)Directions........"**** off."

15)Dismissal ......... "Why Don't you go outside and play hide and go **** yourself!"

it can be maternal..........."MOTHER****ER!!"

It can be used to tell time......." It's four ****ing twenty!"

It can be used as an anatomical description....."He's a ****ing *******."

Lastly, it has been used by many notable people throughout history:

"What the **** was that?" ~Mayor of Hiroshema~

"Thats not a real ****ing gun." ~John Lennon~

"Where the **** is all this water coming from?" ~Captain of the Titanic~

"Who the **** is gonna find out?" ~Richard Nixon~/~Bill Clinton~

"Heads are gonna ****ing roll." ~Anne Boleyn~

"Any ****ing idiot could answer that." ~Albert Einstein~

"It does so ****ing look like her!" ~Picasso~

"You want what on the ****ing ceiling?" ~Michaelangelo~

"**** a duck." ~Walt Disney~

As can be seen on this thread, swearing is an epidemic. Swearing is anything but "more powerful" than any appropriate words. Intelligent people verbalize using intelligent words, not gutter language.
What really bothers me is when dummies are swearing like at a car show or sports event and there are little kids around. Do they really want these kids to grow up using the same rude and arrogant words? (Well, these days, I guess they would!)

I use swear words to let out anger. It's better than killing a guy, no? I have a bad temper and sometimes I just need to shout something I KNOW is bad...It kind of relieves stress. Or, when someone says it on tv in a strange manner, laugh :)

I Personally Don't swear Myself, But I Don't really get offended when people do.

I Find it kinda unneccesary and Overated. It helps sometimes during movies and stuff to make the scene more powerful, But its just not something I Ever feel the need to do.

Swearing is actually a bad habit of mine that I'm very proud of. The only times profanity offends me when racist terms are involved and the profanity is used very maliciously. Actually, when someone swears maliciously, I get SCARED, not offended.
