Denise Richards Files for Divorce
http://ia.imdb.com/media/imdb/01/I/73/88/38s.jpg Former Bond girl Denise Richards (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000612/) has shocked Hollywood by filing for divorce from her husband Charlie Sheen (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000221/), while pregnant with the couple's second child. Citing irreconcilable differences for the split, the actress has retained the services of powerhouse divorce attorney Laura Wasser as she prepares for a court battle over custody of her daughter Sam and unborn baby. US news show Celebrity Justice (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0374374/) reports Richards is seeking full custody of the children, and has asked Sheen be granted visitation rights. The couple's daughter is a year old, and Richards is six months pregnant with their second child. In the legal papers, filed in Los Angeles on Tuesday, Richards also demands "miscellaneous jewelry and other personal effects," as well as "earnings and accumulations of Petitioner from and after the date of separation". The divorce comes completely out of the blue for the couple, who seemed to be perfectly happy when they were recently interviewed about their new baby news. Richards even joined her husband on his hit TV show Two and a Half Men (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0369179/) late last year. And in October, Sheen confessed he had had tattoos lasered off his chest to prove once and for all he had turned his back on his hedonistic past. He said, "I had some tattoos lasered off my chest. They don't represent the lifestyle I thought I would always have." And just last month, Sheen made no mention of any marriage trouble when he told American magazine Us Weekly that he couldn't wait to become a dad again, and confessed he and Richards were hoping their second child would be another girl. The couple were married in June 2002 after meeting on the set of movie Good Advice (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0243931/) in 2000 and then fell in love when Richards became a regular guest on Sheen's sitcom Spin City (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0115369/). Sheen announced the couple's engagement at 2002's Golden Globe Awards after proposing to the actress in Hawaii.

I feel the same way. It's really sad and what's even sadder is that they have a daughter and another on the way. I thought they'd make it, too.

You'd think something pretty bad would have had to have happened to have a woman leave her husband while she's pregnant.

I think the percentage is a little higher for famous couples. Especially the ones where both people are famous.

Paul Newman/Joanne Woodward type marriages are like, non-existant anymore.

I think the percentage for famous couple is more like 75% which is sad, of course there are exceptions. I think Newman and Woodward have been married for over 50 years...

Considering Sheen's womanizing past, it's probably a safe bet to surmise he got caught doing something he shouldn't have been doing.

This is just crazy! Saw the promo for "Two and a Half Men" and she and her daughter were on the show! I thought he (Charlie) would be happy with her but that's not the case.

True. I heard/read a stat somewhere 60% of second time marriages end in divorce as well.

And she's pregnant...... How sad...

Being married you have to give up alot. Almost your soul. It takes alot of work to stay married.

There's got to be big reason for a pregnant woman to file for divorce. This isn't a separation, this is the big one. My guess is that Charlie reverted back to his old ways with his womanizing and/or drug use.

It's a shame. I've always liked Charlie Sheen, and was glad that he turned his life around. They must both be devastated.

Most celebrity couples don't stay married that long so this isn't a surprise about Denise & Charlie's relationship. What iam surprised about is how long Bobby Brown & Whitney Houston have been married hahahahahahahahahaha. I just knew that relationship wouldn't last long.

I agree with you Janice.I was pleased to hear he'd changed as well, but then again,I've had my doubts, because I'm one of those annoying people who believe that its impossible for people to change.Once a womaniser, alcoholic,or drug addict, always one.The tendencies are always there.

Charlie Sheen: I Didn't Cheat on My Wife

What went wrong in Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards's marriage? It's the question that hung in the air last week after Richards, who is seven months pregnant, filed for divorce from her husband of two years.

Sources close to the situation say that Richards, 34, made the swift, bold move out of concern that Sheen, 39, – a once-notorious Hollywood bad boy who cleaned up his act in 1998 – had reverted to some of his old ways. Richards hopes, these sources say, that Sheen will seek help – a move that could preserve their marriage and keep their family intact. (The pair also have a 1-year-old daughter, Sam.)

Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards

Sheen strongly denies any such misbehavior. "He did not cheat. He did not have a relapse. There is no scandal. He is not going into rehab," says his rep, Stan Rosenfield. "Sometimes marriages don't work. It's as simple as that."

Sheen himself added in a statement: "I did not cheat on my wife. These stories and allegations are unconscionable. The reason for our separation is a private matter between us."

According to a source close to the actor, Sheen had moved out of the couple's $1.6 million four-bedroom house in Agoura Hills, Calif., a few weeks before Richards's court filing and is living nearby: "All was not well with the marriage," this source said. Still, Sheen, who has hired a lawyer, has yet to respond to the divorce petition. "He was not expecting it," says this source. "He was surprised."

After the announcement of the split, both Sheen and Richards went on with life as if little were amiss. Richards, who shopped for baby items solo at Target and Babies R Us near her home on March 6, "is doing pretty good," said her father, Irv.

On March 7, heading into a scheduled one-week hiatus after several weeks of production on Two and a Half Men, Sheen appeared upbeat when he faced reporters to field questions about his CBS sitcom.

Warner Bros. Television, which produces Men, released a statement that praised Sheen's "impeccable standard of leadership" on the show and stressed that his "marital situation" has in no way affected his professional commitment to the series." Says a source on the set: "He has been at work every single day. There has been nothing out of the ordinary; he has been his usual, professional, nice self. I have never seen any evidence other than that he adores and loves his wife and baby."

Whatever their problems, most close to Sheen and Richards are rooting for the couple to overcome them. "He is a good guy who works hard and loves his family," says Sheen's on-set coworker. "I hope they can work things out."

Michael J. Fox and his wife Tracy Pollan have been married for about 16 years (and counting). They met on the set of "Family Ties" and you gotta say, what with his Parkinson's and all, they've been through alot and are a very strong, loving Hollywood couple. i agree though, those sorts of couples are rare in Hollywood.

You know, I can understand that you want to be a witness to people, and i can respect that. But, there is a certain etiquette to witnessing in this day and age. For one, we are not perfect, and neither are you. God says to humble yourself, this clearly is a problem for you, because everytime i see a post from you , you're looking down on someone. That doesn't win people to God - if that is your goal - it shuns people. People have to work through their problems because they are people, God knows that, that's how he made us, he doesn't doom us to hell for making mistakes, because he is a patient God. The one you are painting is a tyrannical god, this is where you lose people. Instead of beating sunday school into peoples' heads, why don't you just pray for them rather than alienate them for just being people. Just a civil suggestion.
