I'm hearing conflicting reports on this storm, ranging from only rain to major snow accumulation. Where are T.F. Stormtracker and Brent88 when we need them? :)

THE EXACT TRACK OF THE STORM REMAINS UNCERTAIN, SO OUR FORECAST AND OUR SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS MAY CHANGE AS WE DRAW CLOSER TO THE TIME OF THE EVENT. YOU ARE, HOWEVER, URGED TO PREPARE NOW FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF A PERIOD OF HEAVY SNOWFALL MONDAY AND MONDAY NIGHT.

Sorry about the caps. I think we'll have to wait it out for a little while more to see exactly what this storm will bring.

I don't understand why the meteorologists can't nail this one or even ballpark it. The weatherman on my local news said that it will either rain or snow Monday into Tuesday. And, that the rain or snow will end early Tuesday evening. Exact words.

Sometimes storms are hard to read. If a meteorologist isn't sure about a certian storm it wouldn't be smart of them to commit to a forecast. More information will keep coming up as the night progresses.

Portions of South Jersey, PA, and Maryland are now under a Winter Storm Warning. We're still just in a watch, I believe...

SNOW WILL BEGIN FROM SOUTH TO NORTH DURING THE MORNING HOURS ON MONDAY AS AN INTENSIFYING AREA OF LOW PRESSURE APPROACHES THE REGION. THERE IS STILL SOME UNCERTAINTY AS TO THE EXACT TRACK OF THE LOW AS IT MOVES BY AND A DIFFERENCE OF POSITION BY AS LITTLE AS 30 TO 50 MILES CAN HAVE A BIG INFLUENCE ON WHAT TYPE OF PRECIPITATION FALLS AND WHERE.

The storm is hard to read because the low is just now forming off the Carolina coast. If it moves 50 miles east, NYC will get hammered with over a foot of snow. If it moves slightly west, rain can mix in. Right now it looks like the major cities in the Northeast (NYC, Philly, Boston) will get hit hard. My area (close to NYC) is slated for 8-14 inches, as of now. Heavy snow and 40 MPH winds ... make this Blizzard #2 for 2005!

Check out the radar on this baby: http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/weather/wabc_wxradar_usa_radar_satellite_animated.html

...WINTER STORM WATCH CONTINUES IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY AFTERNOON TO
TUESDAY MORNING...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TAUNTON MA HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM
WATCH.

SNOW IS FORECAST TO OVERSPREAD THE REGION LATE MONDAY AFTERNOON AND
MAY BECOME HEAVY AT TIMES BEFORE NIGHTFALL. SNOW WILL CONTINUE INTO
TUESDAY MORNING AND MAY MIX SLEET AND WITH RAIN FOR A TIME ALONG THE
COAST. INCREASING NORTHEAST WINDS WILL ALSO ACCOMPANY THIS STORM
SYSTEM. WIND GUSTS COULD APPROACH 50 MPH FOR A TIME TUESDAY MORNING
AND MAY CREATE LIMITED VISIBILITIES LESS THAN ONE HALF MILE. IN
ADDITION THE COMBINATION OF HEAVY PRECIPITATION AND STRONG WIND
GUSTS CAUSE SCATTERED POWER OUTAGES.

THERE REMAINS SOME UNCERTAINTY AS TO THE EXACT TRACK OF THE STORM.
THE POTENTIAL STILL EXISTS FOR A SNOWFALL OF 6 OR MORE INCHES ACROSS
THE AREA...ESPECIALLY IF THE STORM TAKES A MORE EASTERLY TRACK.

A WINTER STORM WATCH IS ISSUED FOR THE POTENTIAL OF A SNOWFALL OF 6
OR MORE INCHES IN THE NEXT 12 HOURS OR FOR ICE ACCRETION OF 1/2 INCH
OR GREATER. ANYONE TRAVELING IN THE NEXT 24 TO 36 HOURS SHOULD
MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO MODIFY TRAVEL PLANS SHOULD
WINTER WEATHER DEVELOP.

New York City will probably be in the same boat, maybe slightly higher on the accumulations, but regardless the strong winds will create blizzard conditions whether there's just a few inches or a foot of snow. We had a cold, soaking, miserable rain most of the day today as the low rapidly deepened in the Northeast Gulf of Mexico.

SNOW WILL ARRIVE LATE MONDAY MORNING OR EARLY AFTERNOON. SOME MIXING
WITH RAIN OR SLEET WILL BE POSSIBLE BY LATE MONDAY AFTERNOON AND
EVENING...WHICH COULD HOLD DOWN SNOW ACCUMULATIONS SOMEWHAT.

EVEN SO...CURRENT INDICATIONS ARE THAT A 6 INCH OR GREATER SNOWFALL
COULD OCCUR BY THE TIME THE SNOW TAPERS OFF MONDAY NIGHT. WINDS
COULD ALSO BECOME QUITE STRONG DURING THE PERIOD OF HEAVIEST
SNOWFALL...WITH CONSIDERABLE BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF SNOW AND
SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED VISIBILITIES.

ANY SHIFT EAST OR WEST OF THE CURRENT FORECAST TRACK OF THE LOW
COULD HAVE A DRASTIC EFFECT ON FINAL SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS.

A WINTER STORM WATCH IS ISSUED WHEN SEVERE WINTER WEATHER IS
POSSIBLE...BUT NOT IMMINENT. AT THE TIME...THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR
SIGNIFICANT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS. FUTURE DRIVING AND WALKING
CONDITIONS MAY BECOME HAZARDOUS...SO IT IS IMPORTANT TO MONITOR THE
LATEST FORECASTS.

STAY TUNED TO NOAA ALL HAZARDS RADIO OR VISIT OUR WEB SITE AT
WEATHER.GOV/OKX FOR FURTHER DETAILS OR UPDATES.

Away from the major cities there will be no mixing. If the track goes much more to the east, the rain/sleet would not occur in the cities though and the snow accumulation would be higher.

North Jersey is now included in the Winter Storm Warning. I hope we don't have school tomorow.

...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FOR MONDAY AND MONDAY NIGHT...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOUNT HOLLY, NEW JERSEY HAS ISSUED AWINTER STORM WARNING FOR MONDAY AND MONDAY NIGHT FOR EASTERNPENNSYLVANIA, AND NORTHERN AND CENTRAL NEW JERSEY.

THE WINTER STORM WARNING INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES,
IN NEW JERSEY, SUSSEX, WARREN, MORRIS, HUNTERDON, SOMERSET, MERCER,MIDDLESEX AND MONMOUTH.

IN PENNSYLVANIA, CARBON, MONROE, BERKS, LEHIGH, NORTHAMPTON,
CHESTER, MONTGOMERY AND BUCKS.

SNOW WILL BEGIN FROM SOUTH TO NORTH IN THE LATE MORNING HOURS ON
MONDAY AS AN INTENSIFYING AREA OF LOW PRESSURE APPROACHES THE
REGION. THERE IS STILL SOME UNCERTAINTY AS TO THE EXACT TRACK OF
THE LOW AS IT MOVES BY AND A DIFFERENCE OF POSITION BY AS LITTLE AS
30 TO 50 MILES CAN HAVE A BIG INFLUENCE ON WHAT TYPE OF PRECIPITATION FALLS AND WHERE.

AT THIS TIME, THE PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO REMAIN ALL SNOW OVER
THE AREA, AND TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 8 TO 12 INCHES ARE
EXPECTED. SOME HEAVY SNOW IS POSSIBLE DURING MONDAY AFTERNOON ANDEVENING.

Brent88

Winter Storm Warning coming for New York City metro shortly...

THINK EVEN IF MAV TEMPS
VERIFY THEY WOULD THEN WET-BULB DOWN CLOSE TO FREEZING WITH THE
ONSET OF PRECIP GIVEN DEWPOINTS IN THE MID 20S. TIMING OF PRECIP
ONSET STILL LOOKS GOOD...WITH A BURST OF HEAVY PRECIPITATION
EXPECTED FROM LATE MONDAY AFTERNOON INTO THE EVENING...SNOW EXCEPT
FOR A BRIEF MIX OF RAIN AND SLEET ACROSS PARTS OF NYC...LONG ISLAND
AND SOUTHEAST CT LATE IN THE AFTERNOON. WINDS WILL ALSO
INCREASE...WITH SUSTAINED 20-30 MPH NORTHEAST WINDS AND GUSTS TO 40
MPH PRODUCING NEAR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS ACROSS COASTAL CT AND NYC.
HIGHER SPEEDS CLOSER TO STORM FORCE LIKELY ACROSS FAR EASTERN LONG
ISLAND.

SNOW DECREASES IN INTENSITY LATE MONDAY NIGHT...AND WHEN ALL IS SAID
AND DONE ACCUMULATIONS OF UP TO A FOOT OF HEAVY WET SNOW ARE
POSSIBLE. WILL KEEP LIKELY POP FOR SOME LIGHT ACCUMULATIONS INTO
TUESDAY AS A SECOND VERTICALLY STACKED LOW CROSSES THE AREA.

All areas in the blue outline have a shot at over 4 inches of snow on Monday (tomorrow) alone, this doesnt include snowfall on Tuesday.

Areas in the green and red have a very good shot at over 4 inches and more likely more than 6. As you can see, very widespread, high inpact event for the east.

So, how much snow is Boston getting again? Actually, I live about seven miles north of Boston.
No problem, I love this kinda stuff.

For the Boston Area, the current projections are in the 6-12" range, but I think that is a bit conservative. Depending on just how warm it gets tomorrow I'd say widespread 8-14" with some areas to the west of Boston getting a tad more.

Rome, NY should see between 9 and 15 inches of snow by Tuesday night when it all winds up.

New York City, about 8-14" with more falling to the west and northwest of the city. About 8-16" in some locales.

Didnt know you were that interested in weather, Pav. That's awesome! :D

I've been a big fan of snow/blizzards for many years now. Have gone through a lot of "big ones" over the years. Like the SuperStorm in 1993, the 32 inch blizzard in 1996, 2003 Blizzard, 2005 Blizzard and now Blizzard of 2005 part duex!

I usually post on WABC's weather board. A lot of weather fans are there and they know their stuff. Bill Evans, morning meterologist for WABC for many years, also posts there (as bevans777). http://forums.go.com/abclocal/WABC/forum?forumID=70&byThread=false

Great GFS, NAM, etc maps are posted there. Fun way to track storms!

The Superstorm of 1993 affected us down here... 13" of snow in about 10 hours. March 12th-13th was two days I will never forget. I can barely remember it(I was not even 5 years old yet), but I just remember an awesome sight and walking up to a friend's house since we had lost power.

NWS Birmingham archived all the statements from that storm here: http://www.srh.noaa.gov/bmx/aware/1993snow_BHM_products.pdf

Washington, DC/Baltimore area: 6 to 12 inches of snow. Heavy Snow Warning in effect.

New York City and neighboring NJ areas: 8 to 14 inches of snow possible, with rain slightly possible near the coast. Higher accumulations outside the city of over 15 inches possible. Winds could gust as hgih as 60 mph on Long Island. Winter Storm Warning In Effect.

Boston, MA area: 6 to 14 inches of snow with the higher accumulations occuring away from the coastal areas. Winter Storm Watch in effect.

Pittsburgh. PA: 6 to 12 inches of snow. Higher accumulations north and east of the city. Winter Storm Warning in effect.

Cleveland, OH: Rain early, mixing with and changing to snow in the afternoon with 5 to 10 inches of snow possible. Winter Storm Watch.

Columbus, OH: 3 to 6 inches of snow mixed with rain early Monday.

Detroit, MI and nearby locales: 6 to 12 inches of snow expected, with locally higher amounts where snow persists and lake effect enhances snowfall.

We've already had 4 "Major" snowstorms here (as in 6" or more) and over 50 inches of snow so far, already well above our average.

Dec. 22-23: 11".

Jan. 8: 6.0"

Jan. 22-23: 14.5".

Feb. 20: 7.3".

If this one is significant and we get another one like it we could be dangerously close to some records.

Tough forecast, for sure.

On the subject of heavy snow...I like the heavy wet snow the best. It's more interesting because it sticks to everything and makes it look all cool outside.

When it's all dry and light it accumulates more, but basically it only sticks on flat surfaces like a car or a roof. When its wet and windy out it sticks to everything and freezes there.

I hate dry snow(about all we ever get is wet here), it's better for snowball making and just for holding in general, and it doesn't blow all over the place and make a huge mess.

We usually never have enough to shovel(or the roads don't get covered), so the weight is not an issue.

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE UPTON NY
400 AM EST MON FEB 28 2005

.SHORT TERM (TODAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY)...

LOTS OF QUESTIONS STILL UNANSWERED WITH THIS UPCOMING STORM...SOME
OF WHICH WILL NOT BE ANSWERED UNTIL THINGS START TO UNFOLD THIS
AFTERNOON.

EARLY MORNING SAT IMAGERY/RADAR MOSAICS SHOW RATHER IMPRESSIVE STORM
GETTING GOING ALONG THE SC COAST. THERE'S QUITE A LARGE SWATH OF
MODERATE TO LOCALLY HEAVY PRECIP NOW MOVING UP THROUGH SOUTHERN VA.
SFC AND BUOY OBS AS OF 08Z PLACE A ~992MB SFC LOW JUST SOUTH OF KILM
NC. ALL MODELS ARE TOO WEAK WITH THE CENTRAL SFC PRESSURE.

GFS/EC TRACK IS PREFERRED...ALTHOUGH I WILL COMPROMISE SLIGHTLY WITH
THE ETA DESPITE IT'S INITIALIZATION SHORTCOMINGS. REASONING IS THAT
NRN STREAM TROF MAY BEGIN TO TUG A LITTLE BIT.

OVERALL...IT'S THE BATTLE OF THE SOUTHERN AND NORTHERN STREAMS. DO
NOT THINK THEY WILL COMPLETELY PHASE UNTIL LOW IS NORTH OF OR JUST
OVER OUR LATITUDE. THIS I THINK WILL KEEP THE STORM FROM BEING AN
ABSOLUTE BLOCKBUSTER FOR OUR REGION. I THINK SEPARATION OF THE TWO
STREAMS WITH THE NORTHERN STREAM BEING DOMINANT WILL HURT THIS
STORMS STATUS OF BECOMING HISTORICAL.

MY THEORY IS ONE OF "SHARED" OR "STOLEN" ENERGY. WHEN ONE STEPS BACK
AND JUST TAKES A QUICK LOOK AT WHAT IS GOING ON SYNOPTICALLY...THE
SRN STREAM ENERGY IS WEAK ENOUGH THAT IS ACTS LIKE A SPOKE ROTATING
AROUND THE MORE DOMINANT NORTHERN STREAM TROF THAT IS PARKED OVER
THE MIDWEST. AS THE NRN STREAM TROF TRIES TO "GRAB" OR PHASE WITH
THE SOUTHERN STREAM...IT ALLOWS HEIGHTS TO CRASH ACRS THE MID
ATLANTIC STATES OVER A WIDE AREA THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...WHICH
I THINK HELPS TO PUSH THE STRONG SOUTHERN STREAM JET MORE OR LESS
OUT TO SEA INSTEAD OF SCREAMING UP THE EASTERN SEABOARD. THIS
RESULTS IN A MORE STRETCHED OUT SYSTEM IN A W-E FASHION WHICH ALSO
ACTS TO SHUNT THE HEAVY CONVECTIVE WARM CONVEYOR BELT PRECIP WELL
OFFSHORE BEFORE IT GETS HERE.

I THINK THIS WILL ALLOW FOR MORE SNOW WITH THIS SYSTEM THAN IF IT
WERE TO FULLY PHASE BEFORE GETTING HERE (THE LOW WOULD BE
STRONGER...MORE WEST...AND MORE RAIN). HOWEVER...I ALSO THINK THIS
STUNTS THE GROWTH OF THE COASTAL LOW AND DOES NOT ALLOW IT TO BOMB
TO ITS FULL POTENTIAL. NOTICE THAT MOST IF NOT ALL MODELS HAVE COME
UP WITH THEIR FORECASTED CENTRAL PRESSURES AS THIS THING ROLLS UP
THE COAST. I THINK MY THEORY ABOVE IS WHY THEY DO SO...WHICH ALSO
KNOCKS DOWN WIND POTENTIAL FROM WHAT WE SAW IN Y'DAY RUNS.

SO...INSTEAD OF AN ALL OUT MONSTER OF 970 MB...WE GET SOMETHING MORE
ON THE ORDER OF 980-ISH. A 980 LOW IS PRETTY IMPRESSIVE...BUT
PRESSURE IS ALL RELATIVE...I.E...A 980 LOW COMING UP THE COAST WITH
A 1040 HIGH OVER MONTREAL WOULD BE SO MUCH MORE IMPRESSIVE AND
POTENTIALLY DAMAGING.

WITH ALL THIS SAID...I STILL THINK WE GET SOME BIG PRECIP RATES IN
HERE BETWEEN 00Z AND 06Z. GFS IS LIKELY UNDERDONE ON THESE. ETA IS
PROBABLY MORE REASONABLE. NOTICE RGEM 50 MM JUST SOUTH OF LI AROUND
00Z! HOWEVER...WITH THEORY OUTLINED ABOVE...RGEM THEN TAKES HEFTY
STUFF FROM S OF LI TO E OF BOS IN 6 HOURS TIME.

I THINK MIXING WITH RAIN AND/OR SLEET WILL OCCUR OVER THE EASTERN
HALF OF THE CWA BETWEEN ABOUT 03Z AND 08Z AS WARM AIR TRIES TO
INTRUDE. THE CITY MAY NOT MIX...BUT I'M THINKING IT DOES FOR A SHORT
TIME. OVERALL...HPC CUT THEIR SNOW AMOUNT GRAPHICS IN A BIG WAY FOR
THE COAST. THEY WENT FROM ALMOST 15" ON THEIR SUN AFTN FORECAST TO
2-5" FOR LI (RIGHT AROUND 6" FOR NYC) ON THEIR 0545Z UPDATE TONIGHT.
N AND W OF NYC THEY HAVE A GENERAL 6-10" PAINTED.

I THINK THEIR TREND WITH LESS SNOW AT THE COAST IS RIGHT DUE TO
MIXING...BUT I DO NOT THINK I WENT TO DROP THINGS THAT MUCH. I THINK
WE'LL GET A SIGNIFICANT BURST OF UVV'S BEFORE ANY MIX OR CHANGEOVER
WHICH WILL PILE UP QUICK. THIS COMBINED WITH FAIRLY STRONG WINDS
WILL MAKE FOR NASTY CONDITIONS. THUS...WILL KEEP WINTER STORM
WARNINGS UP WHERE THEY ARE NOW...AND CONVERT EASTERN LI AND SE CT TO
A WINTER STORM WARNING WITH THIS PACKAGE (WE STILL HAVE A WATCH
THERE). EVEN IF MORE MIXING TAKES PLACE AT THE COAST THAN FORECAST
AND WE FALL SHORT OF WARNING CRITERIA...I STILL THINK A WARNING IS
STILL WARRANTED GIVEN CONTRIBUTION OF WIND IMPACT.

NO BLIZZARD WARNING. WINDS WILL PROBABLY NOT BE STRONG ENOUGH OVER A
WIDE AREA. STRONGEST WINDS WILL BE AT THE COAST...AND COULD INDEED
GUST 40-50 MPH...BUT THIS WILL LIKELY OCCUR WHEN THE MIX IS PRESENT
WITH HIGHER VSBYS. WITH THAT SAID...NEAR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS WILL BE
MENTIONED.

FOR ACCUMS...WILL GO WITH 4-8 ACRS MOST OF LONG ISLAND...5-9 IN THE
CITY...AND 6-10 WELL N AND W. BUST POTENTIAL IS THERE...AND DAY CREW

WILL HAVE TO REFINE AS TRENDS DICTATE LATER THIS MORNING.

DRY SLOT CUTS THINGS OFF QUICKLY BY 08Z. THIS WILL BE A QUICK
HITTER. PRIMARY UPPER LOW SLIDES OVER ON TUE...AND I WILL CONTINUE
WITH LIKELY POPS FOR SNOW THEN...WITH PERHAPS ANOTHER 1-3" WITH THAT
(I'M CONSIDERING THE TWO SYSTEMS SEPARATE AS FAR AS SNOW ACCUMS GO).

REMAIN COLD ENOUGH TO SUPPORT ALL SNOW, AND THE SNOW WILL BECOME
HEAVY AT TIMES THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING.

SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 6 TO 10 INCHES ARE EXPECTED TODAY AND TONIGHT. AN ADDITIONAL 1 TO 3 INCHES IS EXPECTED TUESDAY WITH A SEPARATE UPPER AIR SYSTEM, BRINGING THE TWO DAY SNOW ACCUMULATION TO 7 TO 13 INCHES. DURING TIMES OF HEAVY SNOW THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING, THE SNOW COULD FALL AT A RATE OF 1 OR 2 INCHES PER HOUR.

What Does GFS Stand for

Global Forecast System or something like that.

I like to call it Goofy Forecasting System when it predicts these phantom snowstorms that never happen 10-12 days out.

The snow has started here, Snow Advisory for 5-9 inches of snow. That is warning criteria, but it's falling over such a long time it doesnt warrant a "Winter Storm Warning".

Pretty warm for snow, 37.2F at my house with snow.

GFS is right on the money with this one. Still 8-14 inches expected for the NYC area. It's coming down pretty hard right now, but this is nothing, between 5pm-10pm will be a potential of 2-3 inches per HOUR. The storm started here around 1:30, and was not sticking on the roads/sidewalks because the temp was 33-34, now everything is sticking. A lot of public schools and universities have closed early.

The Weather Channel says 6-10 inches for Boston. I'm so sick of the snow.

I sure wish I was over there right now, I absolutely love stuff like this.

I think the GFS has handled this system really well so far, so it has my trust.

I've seen snow at 37 here... back in 1998, we had a surprise event from an upper level low, dumped 5 inches in about 2 hours early that morning(before Dawn). Temperature was between 36-37 and the snow stuck around for awhile even though it never got below freezing.

It probably only stuck on grassy areas. No way it can stick on roads with temperatures 36-37.

As for this storm, latest model has a little stall, so that might bump up a few more inches in the NYC area.

There's an old Indian saying. "Big snow, little snow. Little snow, big snow."

Meaning, that the bigger the snowflakes are, the smaller the storm....and vice versa. Don't know how true it is.

Actually, in a way it is true.

Big snowflakes are sometimes associated with warmer storms where the temperature is slightly above freezing and it mostly melts on contact. The small snowflakes melt and stick together when falling, thus forming larger flakes that melt shortly after hitting the ground. Accumulation still occurs, but not nearly as much as with storms further below freezing.

Although, when the temperature is well below freezing, big flakes means alot of accumulation in a short period. There's gotta be alot of moisture to produce flakes that large. Those are quickly accumulating flakes that cause very low visibilities especially when windy. Earlier this month when we got Thundersnow the flakes were massive and it was in the mid 20's.

I'm going to convince myself to check the Weather Channel here in the next few minutes for any updates.

The Weather Channel sucks. The sad thing is, I remember when it was actually a 24-hour WEATHER information channel and I could watch it all the time(yes, I'm getting old ohno: ) Now half the time I either see stupid commericals, an ad for gardening from P. Allen Smith, or a stupid Storm Stories or other junk like that.

Heavy snow sucks! It's takes twice the effort to get it moved out of the driveway. And then it clogs the snowblower.
Word up. I'm in good 'ole North Dakota, and we've only really had snow from ABOUT Dec. 20 to Jan. 20. We had a snowstorm on Oct. 17, but the snow was gone later that day. It's been a pretty balmy February up here - 35 to 40 degrees most of the time. And people complain about our weather up here. That's f*ckin' :cuckoowhen we haven't even had a blizzard up here in a couple of years.

Yeah...it gets REALLY cold (like that one day last month when we had -50ºF wind chills), but the snowfall up here....HA! We went from 12' snowdrifts to nothing.

You wont see any real snow until after midnight. It's currently snowing in Syracuse.

Well after midnight the snow will intensify and snow at one inch per hour or more. By daybreak you may have close to 6".

And HOW, may I ask, are us almighty weathermen WRONG?!
